Of all the download sites, Ad Fly has to be the bottom end. I realize that everyone wants a piece of the pie but I insist on knowing what I consume. As for the cerebral and the concept, it may be better to choose a more user friendly way to share that huge wealth of art and knowlege.
And just wondering, is using the adf.ly links legal at all? As these are modifications of minecraft, shouldn't developers get the money? I guess not though, as they never specify it.

You do bring up a valid point, considering the distributed files for mods do distribute Mojang's copyrighted code when they need to change the class files.

Yes, because Notch totally deserves money for breaking our mods every update (purposely!), getting us to fix his bugs, then posting that he's having more fun adding achievements and stats than working on the modding API he's promised for months. I wouldn't give him a penny I earned from my mod.
However, the copyright page of minecraft.net (can't quote it right now as the site seems to be down) says that all plugins belong to their original creator.
Yes. When you click an adf.ly link it directs you to a site with a non-intrusive ad (Intrusive ads like popups and surveys are breaking adf.ly TOS) and there is a 5 second timer. You wait 5 sec and then click it to skip the ad.

Do not distribute anything I've made. This includes the client and the server software for the game. This also includes modified versions of anything I've made.
In order to maintain control of the project, I need all game downloads to come from a single central source. I hope you understand.

You can also use the banner ads option which works a normal link only it puts an ad in a banner on the top of your window, which you can exit out of anytime you want to. You earn 50% less than you would with the full screen version though.

Show me a non-language mod that doesn't modify Mojang's stock class files.

I don't get why you care? Are you jelly that modders ACTUALLY WANT COMPENSATION for mods they make? Do you EXPECT that modders do EVERYTHING for you and not get ANYTHING in return? We don't even want YOU to pay us, we just want you to click the link that gives us .000020 cents for every click. Is that just to much for you to handle or something?
Oh, and for an example, look at my mod, MoreFlowers. Or HiddenDoors. Or GemblocksFix. Or CompressedRedstone.
Alright. As the first person in the modding community to have used adf.ly, I feel I should put in my two cents. Before using it, unlike everyone else, I researched the rules, laws, and TOS extensively. By law and adfly's TOS, it is completely okay to link to whatever the hell you want. I could link to the download host of the minecraft.jar if I wanted to. As far as the law is then concerned, the money I would make is for the advertisement the traffic I create sees, and is completely unrelated to the content I'm linking to. HOWEVER, the rules being put in place here are rules for these forums here and should be considered final say for adfly and similar links on any Minecraft content on this and any of it's brother sites, as well as IRC and related youtube videos. If these rules say nobody but the creator and those with permissions can make adfly links, that is what is to be obeyed, even though they're not breaking the law or adfly TOS.
As a side note, I've made $60 off it so far for nothing. It's definitely worth it.
And how exactly do you install said mod? Because there has to be, at some point, an editing of the Mojang files.
He uses ModLoader I guess (Did not look up).
It is a standard for Mods IMO, because of the given compatiblity.
You don´t have to edit Block.java for example. ModLoader does it for you (And for the other mods).
So, as long as your mod uses ModLoader and does not edit any original files, the chance of compatibility to other mods is quite high.
But you have to keep in mind similar block/item ids.

Because you double-dip people, which is both unethical and wrong.
What the hell do you mean by double-dip?
Edit:
Oh, you mean these 3 little adfly links. -.-
Mate, we invest much hours in these mods (solely for UPDATING) and you can´t just wait, ehm, 15 secs?!
THIS is unthankful, unethical and ... wrong. Yes.
adf.ly link to mcmodcenter.net which also holds an adf.ly link to the mod itself. Uhh, that's cheating adf.ly's system. I would have absolutely NO problem if this didn't occur.

ModLoader, but that's Risugami's not mine. And mods with the MCP mod system don't touch Mojang files at all, they aren't even in the same jar. They 'hack' in through the Java VM.
The point is you're acting like a complete idiot because of a line in the Minecraft TOS that has been there since before mods were even being made, that directly conflicts with a more recent line of the TOS. Notch has INTEGRATED MODS INTO MINECRAFT for ****'s sake (after getting permission from their creators), he's obviously OK with them. You're fighting a losing and pointless battle that's just making you look stupid and uninformed.

He's linking us to his mods... are you stupid? He's not cheating anything.

I guess you are stupid.
Here's the scenario if I must spell it out for you.
He has a link here, adf.ly'd to a page on mcmodcenter.net, sure, that's ok, that's a link alright. Then I click download on mcmodcenter.net only to get a SECOND adf.ly smacking me in my face. I don't think so. One is enough.
