Why not use the latest hdpatcher? The mod loading in it is absolutely excellent for any mods that don't use modloader.
Hmm, that sounds a bit confusing, but basically it just installs the files within the mod's zip file into the minecraft.jar, just like you would manually, so that means it's super easy to add mods and remove mods, because it keeps a copy of the vanilla minecraft.jar, and then just re-patches it whenever you want to change your mods. It also tells you about any file conflicts between mods.
Hello.Well to be honest idk, just been doing it manually for so long i guess i just want more control over the process. Although i did not know that it told ya about conflicts, so maybe ill give her a try:) Keeping track of the class files is a pain.
Something funky is going on with the recipes with ladders, I was scrolling through them with the recipe book mod and when i got to the gold ladder it showed one for it being crafted into sticks and another for it being crafted into a gold ingot, as well whenever i scrolled over the gold ladder it went into the saving chunks error thing.
Hello,Thanks for your help Kalin and i wanted to tell ya i found what was causing the mod to fail.I use this as a java startup
echo off
cd jars
"%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -server -Xincgc -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:+UseStringCache -XX:+OptimizeStringConcat -XX:UseSSE=3 -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft.jar
well java does not like -XX:+AggressiveOpts with your mod.Got rid of that and it works fine:)Thanks for the Great mod.
I'm glad you figured it out. Other than knowing it probably had something to do with java I had no idea.

That's odd. I'll look into it, but I'm not doing anything strange with the ladder's recipes.
Hello, I noticed while useing Toomanyitems that there is a second set of wool, although with the same textures as the first. Is it possible to have 2 sets of wool each with its own textures with this mod?
One question: On update, will this break my world?
My config file:
[spoiler]
-snip-
No, as long you don't delete or override the config file on update. If BetterBlocks finds a config file from an older version it will update to add the new options, but keep the values of the old options the same.
Also addNewBlocks presently has a bug when set to false, it will not prevent adding all the new blocks, you should set the block IDs to zero as well.

If you look at the tooltips you'll notice that one set is "Unnamed". The "Unnamed" set are actually double wool-slabs, the block you get when you place two slabs on top of each other. Their is currently a bug where they will appear in TooManyItems.
Oh i forgot to say; You can install this mod by dropping the zip into .minecraft/mods/
As it doesnt have to edit any .class files (unless you want the resistance, in that case; you can drop that file into your .jar) :3
I installed my mod this way; As i want the resistance(not that i've used the fences yet); I simply add that .class file and the rest into a .zip and placed into .minecraft/mods/
Variable explosion resistance (e.g. Obsidian Fences/Slabs not being destroyed by TNT/Creepers) will not work when you do this, but that's all. If you can live without it then it is simpler.
man ur mod is totally awesome and i cant imagine all the stuff i can do with your mod. im having a bit of trouble and sorry if im already repeating stuff that u have answered but i really wanna use ur mod!
first im using a couple of other mods including modloader (which is needed anyways), mo creatures, wolves extended xie's farming, and too many items. i read that some ppl were having issues with toomanyitems. well i installed ur mod and it was there so to check if i had all the stuff i turned on toomanyitems and i noticed not everything was there. i even tried crafting the stuff not there and i didnt get anything.
i think im having trouble with the installation especially with the config settings.
anyone's help would be greatly appreciated and im sorry if i repeated any things that u have already answered.
[code]Hi, Kalin_Magus, the Better Blocks Mod(1.6.6) is incompatible with TehKrush's PlasticCraft(1.6.6) and I mainly use both of them in my world. But when I updated to 1.6.6 and added both those mods, it caused that black screen/crash problem when loading the game. If its possible, can you help fix this problem. Thank You :smile.gif: [code]

Both of you need to read the Reporting Bugs section of the OP and follow the instructions, before I can help you.
I haven't actually looked at them yet, I'm still trying to find time to get BetterBlocks 3.6 out. If it not then I would have to use ModLoaderMP and I understand it's not presently compatible with Bukkit.
Amazing work so far. Thanks.
I'd like to add to the request for ItemCraft support. Please!
Would you ever consider getting your source up on GitHub?
Yes, I did all the above except for "your ModLoader.txt." I really don't know what you mean by that and how would you find it...sorry I'm new here.
Find your .minecraft folder (Search %appdata% on your computer) and then it should be right there as a .txt file (Most likelike Note) and it's called ModLoader - listed as at text document.
Uhhmmm,it seems that this game doesnt work with millenáire mod. Is this just my minecraft or is there an incompatability.
I believe theirs a Block ID conflict with Millenáire, but otherwise it works fine. If you don't know what a Block ID is see the section Seeking Help->Block ID Conflicts in the OP. If that's not you problem then follow the instructions in Seeking Help->Reporting Bugs.
I'm getting a crash when trying to place steps made out of silver birch. I'm running BB alongside a metric ton of other mods so I'm hoping that I've just done something stupid and obvious, because full troubleshooting is going to be a PITA :smile.gif:

The error says that BetterBlockStairs is not a Block, which should be impossible. Have you followed the instructions in Seeking Help->Reporting Bugs? What mods (beside ModLoader) do you have that modify the rr.class file?
EDIT: BetterBlocks 3.6 is going to include BetterFire. I needed to modify fire to prevent all fences (and some stairs) from burning when they shouldn't. So I'm going ahead and adding all the new fire features I was planing to in 5.0.

It's actually only with the gold ladders.
Great mod man :biggrin.gif:!

That is iron. That means you can do whatever you want with my pack as long as you say it was by me

I'll probably only release the source if I abandon the mod.
BetterBlocks requires ModLoader to work. You may want to seek help in the ModLoader thread.
