1. Well damn. I have already reverted to a backup from before your mod.
2. No, I am using the same launcher as 1.4_01.
3. If you could, make it so that all of the stairs and half blocks use a different version of the ID like the fences do (Not very clear, Example: 85-1, 85-2 were some of the fences)
4. 2000+ Diamond fences protecting my rail system from animals is now normal fence :sad.gif:. I think this reverted because of the 85-1 85-2 thing because it still had the base ID, which is why I want that for the stairs too.
2) That is the newest launcher. Maybe it doesn't ask if you want to update on Mac?
3) Half-Block's do all use the same ID with different subtypes. I can't do the same thing with stairs as they have to store what way they are facing as well.
4) Thats what fences do without my mod (new Half-Blocks should become invisible, while new stair sub-types become invisible and non-collidable) If you enabled the stairs with different IDs then the will be removed on world load without my mod (i.e. for 1.5), but if you reinstall my mod later the all half-blocks and fences (and stairs without a new block ID) will return to looking as they did before. Just don't remove them before-hand.
I just reinstalled minecraft from minecraft.net and it asked me if I wanted to update. Too bad I had already reverted. Anyways, now I'll just be happy in 1.4_01 till all of my mods are updated (currently like 3/5)
I love this mod! The stone fences look so good. :>
I would loooove to have wool for stairs and slabs.
Also, what do you think about different types of doors?
I bet that a diamond door would look awesome. :tongue.gif:
Adding a new stair and slab with each type of wool color would be a good idea, and simple to do, I'll include it in the next update. Door's made of different materials would require adding new sprites and designing graphics for them, which I have no intention of doing.
The next update (2.5 after MCP) will allow torches to be placed on half-blocks (torches will look correct while on top of them), fix a minecraft bug with half-blocks allowing a single to become a double when under another block, and of course wool stairs and slabs
The update after that (3.0) will probably include hatches and gates (as in fence). In addition doors always being open when powered (never closed), and with doors transmitting current to other adjacent doors. These two things will make double doors work with a single button or lever and no additional wiring.

It'd be great if it were possible for you to have a 1.4_01 version of that since I have to play on the for a while? SDKs duns are in a lot of my chest, and it will crash when I try to open or break them.
I understand if you can't though.
I found another plus about your mod, it lets you create chairs out of any stairs.
The inconvenient part is the sign is made only of wooden planks.
Would it be a good idea to add more variety to match stairs/slabs/fences?
I mean, a shiny diamond stair with some lower tier wood? naaah.
Then, if you add colored wool stairs, maybe do the same for signs?
You could make some design out of the color you choose and maybe make it so it works fine with ColorSign on any signs.
PS. i was using MoreStairs before this and stairs would only put the sign on top of it not sideways. I don't know if it was intended but I really enjoy the fact your mod allow me to!
If it's too much trouble, don't worry I'm still all over your mod.
-edit, added a picture!
I just realized I wrote "half slab" xD
Version 2.5 posted. I got tired of waiting for the new MCP.
The internal parts of the mod are almost completely rewritten, bugs could have seeped into any part of the mod but I have found none. My mod will now replace existing minecraft blocks at runtime, if you previously overwrite one of my changes with another mod it will no longer work. To use another mod's changes you need to disable the block(s) in the configuration file.
You must use a fresh Minecraft.jar when updating or strange things could happen.

I will look into adding more type of signs, but signs are rendered differently from other block. However I don't know how easy they will be to implement, so we'll see.

I heard MCP released a test version. Any idea if you can start updating now?
I prefer to wait for the final version, otherwise I could end up having to update it twice. But, if a new version is not up soon (say by Thursday) I will do it anyway.
Any reason gold, ob and other stair types are disabled by default? I could never get them, then I looked in the .props file and saw them.
He said he didnt want to use any new block Id's in the OP post, and some of us pressuring him into making more stairs and such he went against that and added those, with a new ID.
Updated for Minecraft 1.5_01. The update was surprisingly simple, mainly thanks to the rewrite I just finished. It involved changing every instance of 'bloodStone' to 'netherrack' in the code :wink.gif:

So theyre disabled by default.
The reason for this is to maximize compatibility with other mods.
Just a quick question. Do the stairs, slabs, or fences take any extra block IDs? If not then this is for sure a download.
[*:31fao43t]All fences use no new Block IDs.
[*:31fao43t]All non-wool slabs use no new Block ID.
[*:31fao43t]Wool Slabs use 2 new Block IDs (disabled by default see configuration).
[*:31fao43t]Stairs need no new Block IDs to add 6 types (Spruce , , , , , and sandstone).
[*:31fao43t]Stairs require 2 new Block IDs to fill out the basic types (disabled by default see configuration).
[*:31fao43t]Stairs require 4 new Block IDs to fill out the wool types (disabled by default see configuration).
[*:wt1ceb48]All fences use no new Block IDs.

Wow, that's amazing. I'll take it. Good job on this.
Could you possibly post the cleaned up version?
I may just delete it and let it create a new one and see if that still happens...
My fault, I never actually tried editing it with notepad (I use notepad++). If I had I would not have assumed that Java dynamically converted line-endings to the native format. I'll fix it in the next version, but as a stop-gap you can use a different text editor, WordPad should work, and it will show-up correctly.
Just in case here is a good version you can copy-and-paste

First off, let me say I like your mod and your ideas to keep the ids down.
However, the mod does not work with me. I have very little info on why, which bugs me!
Here is what I do have. When all the features are turned on the game crashes the moment
I open CJB's item spawner. If I turn everything off except AddNewBlocks and only the non-wool stairs,
it does not crash but the stairs do not render right. The inventory rendering for sandstone is cobblestone,
Brick is obsidian, ect... When placed in the world most are invisable.

The number of problems you are having makes me think it is a corrupted jar. Simply delete your bin folder so minecraft will re-download itself and reinstall the mods (be careful not to delete the saves folder).
If the problem still occurs then I can't help you unless you can tell me which mod is conflicting with mine. If the only two mods you have installed are Item Spawner and BetterBlocks I'll look into it, but if a mod conflict is causing this many problems I doubt I can fix it.
If the conflict is with CJB's Item Spawner and BetterBlocks then you can try replacing Item Spawner with Single Player Commands or TooManyItems both of which provide similar functionality and I know work with my mod.
Love the mod, but I can't play on easy or above because when a is about to explode, minecraft crashes :sad.gif:
please try to fix this so i can use this? also, wool stairs have the sound of stone, just to let you know :biggrin.gif:
thanks

Thank you, I knew about the wool stairs (and have already fixed them and wool slabs), but I didn't know the creeper was causing issues and have just confirmed it myself. (As a temporary fix you can install my mod without the px.class and it won't crash anymore but obsidian fence/slabs/stairs will not be indestructible anymore).
The next version should be up in a few days with Doors, Gates, Hatches, and Logs. The rendering of Stairs and Slabs now no longer has tiling issues in the next version too. For instance a slab will use the bottom half of a texture instead of the top half.
