I believe it works, but there are far more efficient ways to automatically harvest Hemp using Block Dispensers and Detector Blocks.
Check out some of Battosay's videos, and I'm sure you'll see what I mean.
And P.S. Floodgates were possible with this mod a couple of months ago :wink.gif:
Oh god, i tend to forget features of the mods im using. the block dispenser was one of them (aswell as anchors after looking at the recipe list again). well, ill be building an automatic farm anyways, and hit myself for forgetting the block dispensers.

Hehe...I'm sure Battosay will be quite miffed at you for forgetting his favorite block :wink.gif:
The Block Dispenser is actually a hugely useful block when it comes to automated systems. If you haven't played around with it yet, I really recommend you give it a try :smile.gif:
Last I tried that, the redstone would connect to each other, rather than the repeaters. I know that Jens was patching that, but does it work like that in 1.6.6?
I had my mind blown the other day watching a drwbridge tutorial where the demonstrator put his redstone like this (side view)
with the wool being the repeater and it worked perfectly! I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it is worth knowing for the redstone enthusiast.

yo dawg, I heard you liked modding, so we modded this mod so you can mod mods while you mod!
I can put it up for download now if anyone wants it. Otherwise I'll complete it first before making it available (might take a few days, depending on my motivation level).
That looks amazing, Urian! I keep hoping a 16x texture pack pops up with support for BTW. I'm thinking about asking the creator of my favorite pack (coterie craft) to consider it.

They look great! Looking forward to using it, as i've still got vanilla textures on the BTW items but JohnSmith on everything else.
Personally, i'm not sure I like the "out" written on the texture of the gearbox. Other than that it looks awesome!
i have a suggestion but idk how hard it would be to implement, or if u would even want to....
One of the things i love about your mod is the ability to create very large doors with the pulley system and i thought it would be awesome if you could make the two types of panels stick to and move with the platform blocks. this would provide so many more unique ways for concealed entrances and passageways, and give it a ton more looks
either way its still an awesome mod, props to you sir
(edit) Ps: Light blocks should be colorable, and lots of platforms make fer tons of lag
Flowerchild,
Other than the updates that will be made to make it compatible with the current version, do you plan on ever adding other items to the mod?
And I was thinking about how this mod got so popular, and Ithink it's mainly because It stays mostly within the medieval time scheme that minecraft has. Ik I said this before, but great job!

FC is planning on greatly expanding the mod, actually. He said to another user a while back then when Steve is taking the first step on that square moon in the sky could we even begin to think that maybe, just maybe, the mod is done.
We're going to be advancing technically pretty soon now that the Age of Wood is coming to a close.
Hehehe...see how much quieter things get when we don't respond? :smile.gif:
If any of you had any doubts, ask yourself this "why would the volume of idiotic posts by newly created accounts suddenly drop off drastically when we stop responding to them?"
Thanks for going along with me on this guys. It's definitely making things much more sane around here.
Hey FC you gave this old redstone technician a whole new reason to play minecraft! thank you greatly.
I try and avoid suggesting things because generally the modder knows what they are doing but I had a brainstorm this morning.
What if you had a very large pit and a doorway on the otherside you wanted to go through, most people would build a bridge or the like, but what if you could get a suspended platform to cross the distance for you horizontally? Perhaps on a pulley and motor system that runs along the roof? I picture having it run in a loop so the platforms on the system travel in both directions rather than just back and forth.
Just an idea that dawned on me, my apologies if its been suggested before. Can't wait to see more marvelous work from you in the future!

If this is happening, (if more advanced and modern technologies are coming) i hope he makes it so that you can't skip some part and advance faster.
Kind of like the way you've got to get a hand crank to start making the fibres and then you can make rope and axels and eventually automating the process, this is a really good way of giving the user a full experience and definitely enchanced my gameplay :laugh.gif: .
FlowerChild; when you split stone inside of a millstone in order to get panels, the panels are labelled as "wood" material (i'm assuming it's a bug) so i thought just thought i'd let you know.

Urian, I must inform you that textures you are using are from dokucraft, the creator, doku, does not wish any of his textures to be shared, altered or not.
edit: by shared, i mean you cant them put up for download here

I don't think the specific technological-level (medieval as you said) has anything to do with it really.
First, there's just that you can do a lot of cool **** with the mod. I think that definitely has something to do with its success :wink.gif:
But if we're talking about the technology level, I think if it contributes to the mod's success, it is because of continuity, not the specific tech-level itself.
I think this is why many think it fits the feel of Vanilla Minecraft. To use the tongue and cheek example I provided yesterday of landing on the moon, I think that could fit just as well as some of the current stuff *if* (and only if) the player has to get there one step at a time in the same way that the mod is doing right now.
In other words, I think if I did anything right with the tech-level so far, it's that it extends naturally from what already exists in the vanilla game. If we then continue to extend beyond that point, with natural-feeling steps with each additional feature, I really don't see why the mod need restrict itself to medieval-tech to retain its vanilla feel.
Notch has said before that he hasn't wanted to include specific features because "they aren't fantasy enough". In terms of design philosophy, this is where him and I strongly differ. I don't ascribe any particular historical period or genre to the overall "World of Minecraft". Personally, I think that as long as continuity is maintained (which admittedly, many other mods fail to do), there's no reason why things from virtually any genre can't be included in it.
If this is happening, (if more advanced and modern technologies are coming) i hope he makes it so that you can't skip some part and advance faster.
Nah, that's exactly what I'm saying about continuity above. This mod has a tech-tree (similar to what you'd find in a strategy game) planned out that will require the player to perform certain steps in order to get to the next "level".
Amusingly, collecting dung just happens to be one such step, but this was also the case for ancient man :wink.gif:

What do you mean by "material"? If you're talking about what the actual in-game description says, that may be a problem. If you're talking about something you're seeing through InvEdit or whatever, then it is not.
Oh god, i tend to forget features of the mods im using. the block dispenser was one of them (aswell as anchors after looking at the recipe list again). well, ill be building an automatic farm anyways, and hit myself for forgetting the block dispensers.

Nice job man! Looking snazzy
