Do you think FC is going to come up with the final release just this weekend? I know he said "just ten days", but knowing he's the perfectionist type I don't see him delivering just yet. Maybe I'm wrong but I suspect he will continue ironing out loose ends forever...
Dude... please.
Final release this weekend or not, today marks the anniversary of BTW.
The ONLY one who is certain on when the "final release" of BTW will be released is FC.
If he were to call the mod "complete" today, I would be totally content and happy with that.
I wasn't playing BTW right from the start, but I have been playing BTW continually for the last 2 and half years. I have seen it grow into something that is like no other, and still keep the feeling of Minecraft with it. It offers challenges, and rewards that is so worth the early game struggles if you ask me.
Best wishes and a happy BTW day from me as well. I've been working lately on a "Hellscape" texture pack with BTW in mind as part of the celebrations, but I'm afraid there's still quite a lot of work to get done, so it won't be finished in time.
Funny its BTW day and vanilla just depawned every single chest minecart I had when moving my entire base inventory to a new location through the nether...And after I just got a beacon legit for the first time...Which was in one of those chests. So I lost everything.

Have you ever looked at Ozocraft texture pack for influence? Its amazing and so is what it does for jukebox records. This is what it did to the disk - Strad
.
Its only a 32x32 pack, but looks amazing and barely affects my fps at all. WAY more amazing than the recent making things more 3d and use up an extra 50% fps on already great computers : P
Dunno if btw allows it, but I know vanilla mentioned one day redstone to work on jukeboxes so you could automate songs to play repeat or use a delayed redstone clock to get different songs throughout (as manually having to stop whatever you are doing and walk to your juke box every time gets extremely old).. Automated music,

It must be a sigh to play btw or something else.
Have you run any recent backups lately?
I remember I got very comfortable with the game, and thought, "what is the worst that could happen?"
I logged in one day, only to discover that a huge chunk around my base had reverted back to original chunks.
From that point on, I run backups like an obsession.

Nope, not this time. I think what happened was all the chestcarts were stacked inside each other when they came through the portal into the nether since they mainly looked like 1 single chestcart. And then once set off and they left the chunk I was in, The game decided to just despawn the minecarts like what often happened with the old booster systems.
Don't know if this can happen in btw, but it was pretty annoying to say the least. And my first thought was "If minecarts inside themselves will just despawn, why don't they just push each other away...And then I went "Oh yeah, because that would enable cart boosting again." Either way I'm going to be more leerly around portals now and them stacking things that go through.

I've never done anything music-wise yet, and, as mentioned this is more of a "hellscape"... Rivers of blood, severed heads lying around, Things With Eyes... From what I've seen of Ozo it's not really applicable.
Aw man, I missed the anniversary. Belated happy Better than Wolves day to everyone
And as for frequent backing up - I totally agree. I used to back up roughly weekly - now it's pretty much after every session, and with special backups done after I attain certain landmarks (first windmill, recyclable metals, first wheat farm etc). BTW is rock solid, but it's still built on top of Vanilla. 1.5.2 is more solid than the later versions in my experience, but issues can still happen, including purely hardware or OS ones.

windoge 8 has the saddest excuse for a BSOD, it just tells you the type of error, no stop code, no nothing, just "something went wrong, all your unsaved work has now been lost to the void that is volatile memory"
May require a bit of tinkering with the map to accommodate FCs vanilla changes.

I'm looking to register on the main BTW forum, but am not seeing where to do this at. I've looked over a few pages here, browsed through the main forum, and am just not seeing how I can create an account. No, I haven't searched either very thoroughly as I have the feeling its locked... but maybe i'm just missing it.
Anywho, just inquiring and still searching through the threads.
NOTE: Registration to the BTW forum is not always open. It is closed during periods of particularly high activity to prevent trolling and general chaos. If you can't register, please just try again at a later date, and/or post your message here if you have a problem that needs to be addressed immediately.
If you'd like to join the Better Than Wolves community and engage in meaningful conversation about the mod, you can find us here:
I warn you though, I'll ban you at the drop of a hat, so if you join us there, make sure to be on your best behavior and generally act like a reasonable human being.
I saw that, but I wouldn't know if BTW is experiencing high activity or not... I'll assume so seeing how it appears to be locked, and will try again later
It is going to be an extended weekend for sure!

Please don't ruin the party.

With all the recent talk of cookies, cakes, pies, ice cream sandwiches, I thought of something.
In my house, I have a bed, it's there to remind me of what once was, and of course, remind me that I am too troubled to rest.
Then I imagined my character being able to lay in the bed fat! Maybe that will be in the final release.
Hehe...now that's my kind of wolf
I could never live with myself if I spent my last days working on the mod on something so utterly irrelevant
Is that safe? won't the food coloring/chocolate/cream/whatever they put in cakes make the wolf fall over dead?
On a random note, is skyblock possible with BTW?
