No matter if you meant it or not, I just thought that it could be useful until you get a soulforgedsteel beacon(that is the one that lets you set spawn, right?).
So every time you die, you don't lose everything you where holding.
Of course, it will only be worth it if you can afford all those hoppers

Well, using the saw, hoppers only require two wooden planks, possibly less, so if you have a ton of redstone, it could be a good way, as you said, to prevent your items from de-spawning.
I hope the upcoming final version has ice cream sandwiches. All these years we've had cake, cookies, pies, but no ice cream sandwiches : (
My long winding gold yellow brick road leads to the wizard, but he wants ice cream sandwiches and I lost my ruby slippers. I can't wish myself back to Notchville Tennessee without pleasing the wiz.
Hopper roads would be an exceedingly bad idea given that Hoppers have an inventory and use tile entities. It would thus be as much of a performance drain as if you made roads out of chests or furnaces.
I never knew furnaces could do that, I build a house out of them once in multi since they could be protected without being part of a town. Chest I sort of figured because they store so much item information.

chests/furnaces/hoppers/tile entities do that?
You do learn new things every day, huh
Hey, I need some help with installing the new launcher. When I go to versions like the guide on the wiki says to, the earliest version I see is 1.6.1, there is no 1.5.2. Is there a updated installation guide, or did I do something wrong? I also have the old launcher, if that affects anything.
It's a little involved, but fine:
1. Download the 1.5.2 version, then launch any profile using it.
2. Then, go to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions and copy the 1.5.2 folder, and paste another one, again in the versions folder.
3. Then rename this '1.5.2 - Copy' to '1.5.2 BTW'. In the '1.5.2 BTW' folder, rename the '1.5.2.jar' to '1.5.2 BTW.jar' and '1.5.2.json' to '1.5.2 BTW.json'.
4. Then open '1.5.2 BTW.json', using notepad, or better yet wordpad, and use Ctrl+H, to bring up the replacing tool.
5. Replace all instances of '1.5.2' with '1.5.2 BTW', and then save and close.
6. Then you can put the Better Than Wolves client files into the '1.5.2 BTW.jar'.
7. Then when making a new profile use the '1.5.2 BTW' version, and you will be playing Better Than Wolves.
Is there a way of getting apples with BTW besides as loot in dungeons / mineshafts / wherever they do appear? (I can't remember exactly where I got the ones I have)
To be honest, I had completely forgotten about them until I started making preparations to go against the wither and thought of golden apples.

You can only get apples as loot?
Well, golden apples just went waaaay up my BTW expensive items list.
When I fight the wither in vanilla minecraft, I rely a lot on the golden apple's resistance ability, as they do wonders, especially against the wither effect.'
I'm not even to my first iron ingot, yet every time I come here, I learn new things to plan for that I didn't find in the wiki, and I end up planning for stuff I can't even do, and probably won't be able to do for a good ling while
I swear to god I must be the only true optimist left on the planet.

See...I kept telling everyone that wolves are evil despicable creatures, but would anyone listen? No, of course not, and now you're all ******, so "haha...told you so".
I dont see why you ever waste precious gold on a stupid golden apple. Witherfights are easy, you just need a stack of healing, some regen and a bit of strength, preferably plate armour and a smite 5 battle axe/refined sword.
I use them in vanilla minecraft for the resistance effect. Gold farms, ya know.
I don't use them in BTW cus I can't get gold. Or a witherskull for that matter

True enough. I do have a ton of gold right now though, even after building minetracks through my nether roads.
Guess I'm off to build a mobtrap for arcane scrolls.
It feels great to finally have steel after 4 months playing on the same world btw. I think it's the first time I've played the same world for this long.

I wish storms did break axles.
I think you meant to say "Gear Box" instead.

edit: nevermind, I think I got it.
EDIT: I should probably have read the last few pages before replying. Ignore me.

Potions. They have a meaningful use with BTW. It gives reason to explore, and find a witch hut, and get a brewing stand or 2.
You need to make you some axes, get them in your hotbar, and take what is yours.
