No. How did you even come to that conclusion? FC has stated that the mod will be finalized at some point in the near future, but so far, he is still updating it. In case you were confused by it using an older Minecraft version, that's because the new versions stink bad.
I never find coal, so I use furnaces, and poking holes in caves for light, both take time to do, and don't really prevent monster spawns that much. And most of my shallow caves tend to be stone 100%. I don't know why.
Dirt half slab everything to prevent monster spawns Not the roof, just the floor, and just with bottom slabs don't put them even with the top half of the block. If you can place a torch on it, mobs can spawn on it. Slabbing over doesn't prevent gloom effects tho
I'm a scaredy cat with caves so sometimes I just branch mine and half slab the branches when I close them off, which is painfully boring not gonna lie. xD But there's always surface coal and iron about, if you walk around enough to find 'em.
You'll get into your groove eventually If not well, there's other mods that are fun too
Try putting in your birthday or SSN for the seed, I usually get pretty lucky spawns doing that My SSN spawn is an abandoned village with a big pumpkin patch nearby.

Man, that's utterly ludicrous advice. Just use torches for Pete's sake. Coal really isn't that hard to find (I light up absolutely everything I explore and always come across more coal than I need), and the incessant need to hoard resources is a disease
My baby wolf just disappeared I just went to tan some leather and when I came back, my baby wolf (who was seated right next to his parents) was gone. Was that some kind of bug or some feature I didn't know about? Maybe he starved or something? (I'm new with wolves in BTW) Have anyone else had that happen to them?

When a baby wolf grows up it teleports to you but I think it remains seated (it's been a while, I can't remember). So you might want to retrace your steps

Thank you found him sitting in the rain outside my windmill.
That seems like a really messed up system though (not just baby wolf teleporting when they grow up, but wolves teleporting in general - when following the player and sometimes when bugs occur). Would it be reasonable of me to suggest a revamp?

Since that would mean improving them in ways that doesn't make them more lethal, or involve compacting them into geometrically pleasing shapes...no
I've toyed with the idea of disabling their teleporting in the past, but then they'd need decent pathfinding. It's a whole can of worms I'd prefer not to open.

SSN?
Anyways, I like this mod a lot.
Dying is, I think, one of the best parts about this mod.
I used to be scared to go underground, sleep every night, and use wood tools and charcoal.
It was fun precisely because I was scared, I was scared, everything was so important, and I enjoyed it.
Now, I rarely need armor in vanilla and have no incentive or rewarding feeling in going up the tech tree.
This mod makes me scared to go out at night.
It makes me struggle every second of gameplay to fight, get up that tech tree, and to survive.
It makes better gear a need, and it makes better gear so, so rewarding to get.
It makes my gameplay feel so much more alive than ever before.
I do, and will use other mods, but while other mods come and go in my gameplay, BTW will be one mod I always use
Boy....I've been in the thick of other games suggestion threads. Most times they really are stuck in the "make the game easier for the player is the only way to do it!." and if you like something in the game that makes the game hard then you don't know anything and you support bad game mechanics, So here's video "hard games vs punishing games noob".. And realism, moar realism! I won't accept my magic game has something unrealistic because other games haven't done it before.
Anyways I have a better computer now, that's not 512 ram and single core anymore. So I should be able to run this mod now, and combat not = game freezes up and unfreezes when dead. Maybe it can run RTH one day too.
i was reading the better than wolves forum for tips on surviving, the one thing that didnt occur to me was to bury the animals alive...seems kinda cruel but kinder than letting them get ravaged by zombies.
Btw i crashed a boat, it was awesome it has a sound effect! that took me off gaurd
I seem to have a problem producing redstone in a crucible. The crucible is stoked and it contains a stack goldbars and a stack concentrated hellfire (the bars, not hellfire dust), yet nothing happens. Did flowerchild change this or am I missing something here?

Yeah, the recipe for synthetic redstone was removed a wee while ago - to further incentivise mining late-game, if I recall.

Angels are bright, though the brightest fell. Though all things foul would wear the brows of grace; Still grace must look so.
And by the way; Who is John Galt?

A mighty machine built within the wake
Of a long dead dream, little demon awake
The citizens sleep, never quite knowing when
The device will reawaken, hungry again.
Don't be an ****, it's well known that the dust will explode. The original recipe called for concentrated ingots and gold, Hvinnir stated this himself in his message, the recipe has been removed and this fact has been pointed out by multiple posts now, just let it drop and move on.
After my latest respawn into a desert, I saw a temple nearby and went to go check it out. After heading into the inner chamber to gather the loot and a chest, I climbed back out and ran over to the closest source of wood nearby to punch trees. Once I saw the sun starting to set though, without enough wood for even a single pick, I thought I'd set up a chest in a noticeable location on the temple and suicide after depositing my loot. Since my hunger was only around the midpoint, and no water was nearby, I decided to go for dramatic effect and jumped from the top of the pyramid to the bottom of the loot chamber below in what resulted in the most horrible experience I've ever decided to do. Since I was at full health before the drop, I landed at the very bottom, with half a heart left, trapped in the bottom of an endless abyss without the strength to climb out or even break blocks. As my hunger was too low for health to regenerate, all I could do was lay there, weak, helpless, blind, and bleeding as I waited for myself to finally starve to death. For hours or days, I cannot even tell, I prayed some undead monstrosity would fall into the pit and finish me off, occasionally crawling uselessly around in a feeble attempt to burn more energy. When at last I saw the world swimming before my eyes I sighed with relief, finally able to pass on to the next life instead of enduring this never ending hell I had created for myself.

YESH!
you may be right, i dont know though i would have check in vanilla to find out i never did crash my boat in vanilla
Nah, I added it. Vanilla is rather light on sounds in general. There's quite a few I've added in for various events, boat crashing included
I think I did that when I was working on squid as boat crashing became a bit more prominent and it felt weird that it was so silent.

Aaah, after scanning the changelog for the 5th time I finally found it. Thanks!
If hellfire ingots don't work try the dust form.
