I have some problem with BTWConfig file in single player mode. I tried disabling Hardcore Buckets, but it did not work. When Hardcore Buoy is also disabled, then both modes are disabled in single-player mode. For the server, everything works fine.
I'm actually gonna miss this. I used this quite a bit to get a few extra uses out of my stone picks.
I also used this feature a lot for stone picks, but it seems like lots of people were unaware of its existance. I'm glad it's gone, though. Stone picks are painfully slow with recent updates, and this change will prevent any accidental repair of iron tools, which would be very wasteful.
I always felt like I wasted a stone pick if I forgot to repair it before it broke. I won't have this problem any more. =P

The main consideration in removing it I think may have been due to mob traps and the iron tools dropped by them. Gathering up all the bows/tools/armor dropped and mashing them together into full durability equipment.

It'd be tedious to repair a chest full of bows into each other too. That sounds a likely reason for this change. I don't imagine people capable of defeating wither skeletons would care much about stone swords.
Actually, the main motivation was wither skeletons dropping stone swords in the nether given that stone swords are no longer craftable.
In all honesty, I didn't even remember that repair mechanic was in the game, and when I took a closer look at it due to the above, I realized it really wasn't a good fit for BTW in general, and never was a particularly strong mechanic in vanilla either.

There's a bug that was just discovered this morning with the config file not being read properly with the latest release.
I'm working on a patch for it right now, and should be releasing that shortly.
Just put out a 'c' release which fixes issues with loading custom config files on the client, and updated the links in the OP and release post. If you're having these issues, redownload and it should fix them right up.
If you don't use a custom config file, or are running a server, there's no need to redownload, as that's the only thing it changes.
Need I say you've done an epic job with this update FC, I'm loving the new smoky quartz textures- so much more suited to the nether.
If I ever meet you in real life, I'll send a beer or two your way.

-Removed all the fetid and lingering remnants of the horrid monstrosity that is the Forge from the mod as part of the update to 1.5.1, since all the functionality I was still using is now provided by vanilla. Huzah!
Perhaps he posts a lot in other sections of the forums and is only now looking into mods? If so you came to the right place! Welcome to the best mod in minecraft, and your new freaky family...
While your mod is very well done, I have a hard time figuring out how so many people can actually enjoy using your mod; considering you force us to play the game by YOUR rules, Flowerchild. Do you realize how imature that makes you look?
Plus attacking the creators of the game on their own forums by saying their latest update was a complete waste of time? I fail to see how it was a waste of time. Everything fits in wonderfuly with minecraft's world and the new items allow for more redstone contraptions to be implimented. Such as ones that activitate depending on the time of day. But noooo, to you, that's a waste of time so your going to remove all their hard work just because it doesn't fit with YOUR mod.
Again, I stress that while your mod IS very well done(I have tried it and enjoyed it a lot), it would be a LOT more enjoyable if you weren't going out of your way to force us to use your mod and no other mods. Making your fans suffer just because you have something against the people at forge is rather stuck up of you, don't you think so? Then again, in all those interviews out there; you refuse to listen to anything that doesn't agree with you. How old are you? 10? 11? Because you sure act it.
As much as I would love to use your mod, due to how many restrictions you've put into it so far[and your focusing us to play the game by YOUR rules, because according to you, YOUR way is the ONLY correct way to play the game. Beds to do not break the game, they add to it. Not all of us use them to just skip past the night you know. In fact, a lot of us only skip past the night when we need to do something that is better off done during the day. Such as gathering food or wood. Recources obtained underground, I agree, can be obtained night or day. But what about spawn points? That's the main reason I use beds myself. To change my spawn point, especially as I tend to wonder off in a random direction, sometimes, for a good hour and a half gathering resources on the surface of the world until I have enough stuff gathered that I setup a base camp where I am. No where near the original spawn point. By disabling beds, you basically force players that have a lower survival rate than others to remain near the spawn point so they can actually get their stuff back before it all despawns. Nice job.
And turning all modes into Hardcore mod? that's just plain stupid. Not all of us like to have our hard work deleted because of a creeper ninja or because of a lucky arrow from a skeleton(or lucky hit from a zombie). Ever heard of playing to create rather than playing for adventure?
Now, don't get me wrong, Hardcore mode is fun, I do play it myself from time to time(though I suck at hardcore currently. Longest life is three days so far[damn ninja creeper got me as I found my first pile of diamonds]), and it's very much enjoyable, but forcing people to play only on hardcore if they want to use your mod(once again, it's an awesome mod, I love what you've done with it!), kinda makes it hard to want to actually use your mod.
Though, I think I can see where a LOT of your fans of this mod come from now. People who enjoy a good challenge from their games would certainly enjoy your mod a lot. I certainly enjoyed it while I tried it out myself, and I can't stress enough that I have NOTHING against you or the mod. My problem is how your going about working it. Not going to attempt to force you to change anything though. The mod its self is very well done, and I do enjoy playing it from time to time to see how well I can survive using your mod(so far, that's not very long at all). I just wish I could use some of my other favorite mods with it. Nothing that makes the game easy mode though. Hate those mods.
All in all, it IS a good mod and I'll probably download the 1.5 version once it releases. Please don't hate me for what I've said, everyone is allowed their own opinions, and I'm certainly not trying to change yours. Just wish you hadn't disabled the beds is my only real gripe with the mod. Everything else is awesome.
Edit: OK, I'm offcially blinder than a bat. I see 1.5 update is out, and I very much intend to play it again. Might I make one suggestion though? How about an in-game item that we can create that lets us see the recipes for everything we can make at the current teir we're on? Would make it a LOT easier than having to constantly check here[or somewhere on our computers if we've downloaded the screenshots] for the recipes.

I recommend the CraftGuide mod for seeing recipes in-game. It also shows recipes that aren't strictly in the crafting grid, such as what you get for putting something into a kiln, or whether a crucible/cauldron need to be stoked or not.
I swear to god I must be the only true optimist left on the planet.

See...I kept telling everyone that wolves are evil despicable creatures, but would anyone listen? No, of course not, and now you're all ******, so "haha...told you so".

Great, thanks.
Edit: Wait.. that uses forge. This mod doesn't work with forge, remember?
~super snip~ Modloader version: 1.6.7-modloader
Note: Requires Risugami's ModLoader rather than Forge. (Still works with Forge, though some of the built-in mod support will not activate)
The cries of the doom of BTW are as expected once again ridiculous.
Now marked as a total conversion and Forge free? Fantastic. Congrats!

Thanks man! Yeah, I'm quite pleased with how those turned out. White just contrasted horribly with the nether palette.
*pops a beer*
hurrah! the beast is dead!
Seriously? Over a thousand posts to these forums and you had never heard of this mod before or what it was about?
I'm used to the above kind of posts from people with a single one to their account...but this...
How strange
My IGN is xXSilentSpyXx just in case of any white lists.
