So there I was, about to post some pastries ( lovely ones at that ) in reply to someone who had asked for the release date but when I clicked on the Quote button... The post was deleted, he wised up, left me with a pastry picture without a use. I have never been so excited about posting a picture on a forum and now it's gone!
I'm surprised, flowerchild, that you go to this thread at all during an inter-version period. I come here with the faint hope to find something of use, but apparently some things never change....

I guess he doesn't trust us with enforcing the giving of pastries.

The reason I joined Minecraftforums was because of this mod, however, seeing the current form of the mod, I do regret the username choice. This mod is no longer what it use to be. And development has almost halted. I've played through it, found all the ways to automate things but its pointless when it comes down to it. Using IC2 and Redpower you get much better results and the multiplayer versions are stable as well. I've got to say I'm disappointed.

that's completely true
apart from the fact that one of the main reasons for that is because mojang haven't delivered on something they promised since 1.8
and that the reason FC has been waiting until the extended ID's and API is because this super-update will contain at least 30 blocks (which, knowing FC, will be awesome and useful in some way).
and in the meantime he's been fixing bugs, and adding additional features to the mod, both to prepare for the super-update and to give us things to do whilst waiting, like making mob grinders an important part of the mod, giving us better control of enchantments, and infecting out nether regions with fungus.
and constructing a backstory for the whole damn thing that makes sense and calls into question the very concept of morality in relation to games as a whole
and updating the mod for a patch that has broken pretty much everything, and is currently going through each thing the mod adds to make sure it works correctly during the rewrite
whilst fending off whiny morons who don't seem to realize that this is one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) internal changes for MC EVER.
other than that, yeah, the whole thing is pretty much abandoned ¬_¬
Quoted Calcifire for truth.
As for supporter, the point isn't to make things as easy as possible. It's to push the ideas MC already kind of has to the absolute limits and seeing if you can build what one mechanical block from a tech mod can do by hand in the most overengineered epic-looking way possible.
Hard to believe so much was added with 1.3...kind of BS and a "**** you" almost that Mojang only gave a weeks pre-release for modders to work with...At least mojang is doing anything at all. Like I said, FC has been doing more for this game with this one mod by himself more than the whole staff of mojang...which has sadly split their attention to their precious MC360 and MCPE...which don't get me wrong, I own MCPE and played MC360, they are great on their own right, but it seems to me like just another way of raking in dough...I almost wish notch was still doing this by himself...Though it seems he's lost interest in doing anything involving coding himself : (
I find that, when Mojang doesn't do anything for a while, people shout at them for updates, and when they do, they change so much that it takes most mods weeks to actually start working again >_>

There are of course those people that don't like to play with mods at all and that appreciate about anything that is added to the game that could potentially make it better. They can't be blamed for doing this, and at the same time, could whine if there was some "useless" changes that would help modders while cutting down on the new features to the actual game.
Oh no no, I am fine with how long it takes them to actually make the releases...but the content of the releases are mostly things they'd promised for MONTHS, and subtle, nearly pointless nuances that should not have taken them as long, but they hype it up like it's game changing...here's a for instance...fishing...still no fish mobs.
cats...pretty much completely useless.
and i'm shocked with how long they've taken to do anything productive with the villagers.
again, i stress the fact that they are what, 10+ people strong as a company now?
Meanwhile FC manages to add something that extend replay value by dozens of hours with every release. If I didn't know any better i'd think FC worked on his mod almost constantly...
Dude, let it go. You've used 4 pages on the forum for your pointless argument. FC is that kinda guy who does what he wants. Your little self-righteous rant isn't going to make him less of a rough character. Just stop and leave room for the odd constuctive post (or at the very least, lots of pastry posts). It's a tad irksome checking in on the forums to see 4 pages of you.
Yeah, I've noticed. Honestly to his own defense, if I had to put up with thousands of people, and more than half saying the same, stupid things like "whens the next coming out?" I would probably approach it similarly...a seperate, tight-knit forum, a hint of sarcasm here or there...but that doesn't excuse being rude to people that genuinely just try to give him positive feedback exactly how he wants it written out.
In the future, maybe just let it be. Not really worth any stress for either party, considering how pitiful the subject matter is.
Okay, ive read though some posts now and as some has said THIS MOD is one of the biggest and most well thaught out mods out there, IT WILL TAKE TIME TO UPDATE, so dont pester FC about getting it sooner, this is one of the largest updates to MC ever, and it has alterd its code at a fundamental level, so FC will first have to convert his existing code, then he will have to find buggs and remove them becouse he is that kind of a guy, he dosent do anything halfway but makes shure it works, so it will take time. also the reason for there not being a socalled super update is the fact that the MOD API from mojang is not out yet, and as stated FC is still waiting for sevral other changes to. TBF it's a miracle that he does so much all the time with this mod, just look at the recent adittions, i dont know of any other mods that update so frequently and that are so buggless as this one is. lets say that a mod adds 5 blocks in an update, each with its unique feature, and that it updates like every 1-2 weeks, well then your world will most likely crash due to the buggs, FC gets so much done with each update and it is almost always complitely buggfree, so ye the mod is "definitifly dead"
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FC! you do so much and your mod is a god amongst other mods, hang in there.
and dont let the trolls come close to you toss a enchanted soulforged steelsword at them.
I just want FC to realize there are some of us that respect his work immensely, and it hurts when he throws us into the collective-troll bin because we have an animated avatar, say "can't wait" or select a different font in a post. I get that it might Irk him, but no one is going to read 1300+ pages to find out he doesn't like one or two measly, easy to over look things.
Yes, yes, you have shown me the error of my ways! A golden beam of pure kindness has shone down on me from the heavens, infused my spirit, and caused me to change my ways!
Your constant pestering over the past few days has convinced me that people are really ok! Great job! You can stop now.
Also, I am very careful not to allow money to influence my behavior in working on this mod, so your comment about donations is irrelevant to this discussion.
Good. I believe that good mods come from people who don't care about money. But I wouldn't mind at all if u started using an adf.ly link because u do such good work, why not get a few bucks for it?
I would love to have a community to go around my mod, but I can see why you can get tired of your community. It seems like the majority of people like to be haters.
As for people who keep wanting the mod to be updated, mic u were smart, u would have made a back-up of ur jar file before u updated, like I did. If u did that, u could just switch jar files and be able to play ur favorite mod in 1.2.5 until it gets updated to 1.3.1.

And why force money giving upon people? This approach actually is a step against not letting money matter. Then download numbers become important and ways to increase that number start making their way into the mod. Right now, anyone who feels appreciative can click a donate button on the front page, and since it's relatively random, there's no pattern to start to seep into FC's mind. It is the best approach, I think.

I agree with that, I was just saying that I think people wouldnt mind him using an adf.ly link. But I bet he gets plenty of donations, so I don't think that will be an issue.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of adfly. I don't object to other mods use it, but it's not my thing for a variety of reasons, including its tendency to inspire cheap tactics like splitting your mod into a dozen downloads to increase your revenue rate.
If you start looking at how many man-hours you're burning just to collect a few cents, it's pretty depressing.
Anyways, I'd rather any contributions to the mod remain on a voluntary basis. It's not a matter of worrying about people complaining, but rather one of personal preference.

since 1.2 update of minecraft i started considering this mod essential.
good luck with the 1.3 update thou FC, heard that the new singleplayer server thingy made the modders life a little bit trickier
(p.s. imo you have the right (duty?) to ban ppl from your forums for whatever reason you finds out, saw some good forums turning into anarchy due to excess of flexibility in their rules)
Well, I guess now I know.
Keep up the great job FC!

I honestly stopped reading them at the top of this page. Chose the wrong quote. Here we are:

Congrats to this mod! If only there was some way to just get water to behave like it should in a compact redstone divice >_>
