-Added Hardcore Sinkholes as yet another thing you shouldn't worry about, particularly in the nether, where you should really be completely relaxed about the whole thing.
I have a bad, bad, bad, and I mean bad feelings about this Hardcore Sinkholes business.
It... doesn't have anything to do with falling blocks, right? right?
Consider me stupid, I just spent almost 3 hours looking for horses...
I don't understand why there isn't a "vanilla" mod that simply adds all things vanilla to the previous release, so mods don't have to update that often. *HINT *HINT
FloweChild said one of the reasons he doesn't update to the newest version of Minecraft is because if he did, the very next thing he would do is go through the code and rip out all the new things, like the horses for example

if FC bothered to update to the new versions, he would just tear out all the new features, as they interfere with BTW's tech tree
based on that comment, I'm assuming it has to do with something already implemented in the nether

windoge 8 has the saddest excuse for a BSOD, it just tells you the type of error, no stop code, no nothing, just "something went wrong, all your unsaved work has now been lost to the void that is volatile memory"
I've not really spent much time with villager trades, but I understand they add, and overwrite in Vanilla. Is this aspect of trading still the same for BTW villagers? The Minecraft Wiki states:
Nah, the BTW trade system works differently internally. What you're worried about isn't an issue and the old trades will get used up naturally.
The new villager trading systems looks cool. I imagine that you would have to trade a certain amount of times to unlock new trades from a villager. It gives a sense of having to earn a villager's trust.
if I remember correctly, you deliberately "forgot" to include the code to make it work with modloader, and as mr [redacted] says above, you didn't include code to make it incompatible, you just "forgot" to add the code to make it compatible
No, that's not right. I deliberately moved away from Modloader at a certain point and worked out my own system for doing similar stuff.
Modloader's future became uncertain, it didn't have multiplayer support which was making maintaining both SSP and SMP versions a pain, and BTW had become so much of a standalone mod that it just made sense for me to eliminate the dependency.
Anyways, no point rehashing all this stuff, as it's not like things are going to change. If this kind of thing is really of interest to you, the full explanations can be found around the time it happened.
And just the fact that flowerchild won't let someone make a version of his mod that requires forge even tho he won't make it. That's just sad.
I on the other hand feel it is sad that for many people, giving them anything at all seems to come with the assumption that you should then give them absolutely everything they want.
Also rather sad that for some harassing mod authors seems to pass for entertainment.

what I meant was similar to what you said, you didn't include code to make it incompatible, you just didn't add the code required to make it compatible. or if my understanding of how modloader works is correct, you used the vanilla method for adding blocks and items over the modloader method, and never actually included code to make it incompatible. Example of deliberately including code to prevent it from working: what sengir did with bees and the techicpack launcher, those were some fun times!

what's the point you're trying to make here? he coded his modloader in a way that's useful to him, no fancy stuff. nothing about deliberately not including stuff.

he didn't "code modloader", he didn't register his blocks with the modloader method, he built his own mini-modloader to help with addons, but he didn't register blocks through the official modloader, thus he deliberately didn't include the methods required to make it compatible with the official modloader
this is starting to turn into an argument, so let's stop talking about this issue so none of us get banned

It would help if you just stopped trying to speak for me here.
I explained why I did things the way I did. It can easily be left at that, and given what's transpired in the thread recently, I'd very much appreciate if you did.
You're just poking a hornet's nest with further posts on this topic and muddying my own explanation by reinterpreting it.
So I have been playing BTW for the past month and am proud of myself because I have my first base with renewable food. I know I am still pretty low on the tech tree but it’s a start and am having a blast. Here are some pics of my base.
Fort
Birch Farm
Chicken Pit
Dog Pit
Pumpkin and Hemp Farm
Anyway Flowerchild thanks for creating an amazing mod. Before BTW I would mess around with forge mods and get bored. Never felt such a pronounced sense of accomplishment.

I usually just play BTW about 5ish minuets at a time whenever I feel like it.
Who says you need to play 30 minuets~ 2 hours or something to seriously play BTW?
Just play in short intervals whenever you get time and want to play.

Glad you're enjoying it man
I've been letting it sit for a while while I was looking at MITE.
My quest to drain the river starts anew.
Any ideas why?
Because the mod changed the crafting recipe. You now need an ax to chop the logs.
Try putting an ax in the crafting grid next to the log.
