So, I have a problem with Optifine since the 1.8 version. The mod makes my game run perfectly, but after, say, 30 minutes, I always get the "Out of Memory!" error.
I can confirm this is from optifine because this only happens when I have it installed.
That will allow Minecraft to allocate 1MB memory. Make sure you have 1MB unused memory.
The batch that sp614x provides restricts minecraft to use more than 256KB memory.

Sorry, I'm a newb, I don't know what to do with this thing :tongue.gif:

You need to disable HD textures and HD fonts if you are using them

Not to be pushy or anything, I apologize for coming off that way if I do. But I think my post got overlooked, is there any fix to this? Reposted :
So.. I am having a problem.
The Meta-INF File is deleted and everything. I do not use MCpatcher, and I have switched to a hd texture pack, but when I load into the game, the only thing that you can see is the chest.
What I have done
- Complete fresh reinstall
- Removed Meta-INF File
- Added OptiFine_1.0.0_HD_A.zip files into minecraft.bin
- Readded my texture pack
- Created a new world in creative mode
I am not quite sure what to do, default textures work just fine, but no texture pack works, they all look like that :/
Is there any way to use MCPatcher and OptiFine together? So that I can have randomobs and animated terrain textures, while still having a performance boost.

Yes. Well I use MCPatcher to mod my minecraft, I just uncheck HD textures, fonts, bettergrass and random mobs. Try Doing that but have Random Mobs checked.
Optifine makes minecraft looks 10 times better not worse with mipmap level max ,thats why i use it as i dont need the fps boost on my pc and there s no white bits on mine and other 8 people that i know who installed optifine
If you are using minecraft version 1.0.0 the ones you tried (OptiFine 1.9.p5_HD_D2 OptiFine 1.8.1_HD_AA_D2)are not compatible with that version.Download OptiFine 1.0.0_HD_A for minecraft version 1.0.0
Ah, that would make sense. I was thinking Optifine had its own version numbers. Seems kind of silly if that were the case (now that I think about it).
Thanks, I'm pretty sure that will solve the problem. If not, I'll be back.

OptiFine kinda do have its own version number. the HD_A is the version number. When he releases a new version it will be called HD_A2 or HD_B and so on.
This works great on my slow/old work computer - framerate jumped to 30-60FPS from about 10-15.
This also works great on my sick-and-wrong home machine (which runs Skyrim with FSAA enabled and all settings maxed out, at well over 60 FPS @ 1680x1050) in that I can crank view distances, etc. and make the game world seem, well, bigger. There's something to be said for seeing a mountain in the distance, and knowing the edge of vision range is half a kilometer away. :biggrin.gif:

Totally. You can make some great screenshots on Farview Far. I can't move without my FPS dropping to below 10, but standing still leaves it at a respectable 30.
It's just a shame that the shadows under overhangs don't update until you get close to them.
Is it just me or does the new version of OptiFine make it so that when you turn on Clear Water, it really doesn't change the opacity (sorry if I spelled that wrong) of the water as much as in previous versions?
sp614x can you add animations to the HD textures like the MCPatcher does? i never knew that there were animated tiles like the furnaces in misa's/spax's texturepacks until i had to use the patcher while waiting for optifine...
I have been having an issue since 1.8.
When teleporting to a far-away distance, I get really bad, stuttering framerates.
It only does this when I use optifine.
Any suggestions on how one would fix this issue?
i know oyu just finished the 1.0 version..but will there still be the multi threaded and smooth version seeing as how theyve said in the change log that dual core CPU's will work like they do with multi threaded version?

you mean 1.0? that version of HD_MT_D2 is already out
the latest Optifine multithreaded is not compatible with 1.0
Try running the launcher with this batch:
That will allow Minecraft to allocate 1MB memory. Make sure you have 1MB unused memory.

My only issue is, the better grass won't work for me. Don't know if randommobs is at fault there.
I deleted the META INF folder as instructed.
I have tried updating Java to the latest 64bit experimental version, that didn't help.
I'm running 64bit Windows 7 Pro. I have both 64bit Java and 32bit Java installed. This is required in order for me to run a Minecraft server.
I've tried deleting my .minecraft folder and then redownloading the game and then installing the game as instructed. None of this is working.
I have the Radeon HD 5850, Intel Core i7 870 Quad, 8gigs g.skill ddr3 1600, Catalyst version 11.10
I have tried these versions of Optifine:
OptiFine 1.9.p5_HD_D2
OptiFine 1.8.1_HD_AA_D2
Any help would be appreciated,
-Neil
