While it is good news - It does seem that Optifine/Optifabric may still have some issues with some mods - one of which is 'Amecs' (FYI I use MultiMC launcher to make it easy to enable/disable mods)
So if anyone does decide to use Optifabric - just remember that some Fabric mods will crash your game because of this (IIRC there's usually problems with some mods anyway with Optifine)
I came here to look for info on Optifine + Fabric, since OptiFabric went out of development. I went to look for the post showing this news and the "final status" of the OptiFabric project.
GOOD NEWS!!!
https://github.com/modmuss50/OptiFabric/blob/master/README.md and an update within the last day shows OptiFabric is back-in-business. With the 3.0 version of OptiFabric and the latest Optifine 1.14.3 F1, people using Fabric can enjoy Optifine as well. Note: Shaders are shut off in Fabric + Optifine because of rendering issues, but so far everything ELSE appears to be doing the job.
I'm not clear yet on marrying Fabric + Forge, though I think that would be more appropriate for a thread *not* specific to Optifine. And thank you @sp614x for providing a way for OptiFabric to work moving forward.
OMG thank you so much for this!!!
I had no idea, and I had read that Optifabric development is done, and lost all hope to the point where I didnt bother checking anymore.
All I am using Fabric for, is the Voxelmap mod, and I was basically waiting for Optifine to become compatible with forge so I can use the Voxelmap Forge release.
Havent tried Optifabric yet, but your post gave me hope
I will try it and see how it goes, I may or may not update this post if it all works well or if I run into issues.
Works like a charm! No issues so far!
P.S. I sincerely hope Optifine becomes compatible with Forge once again, as there are a ton of mods that are Forge-reliant.
SUES PTGI E8 came out at the beginning of last month and said it will have issues with 1.12.2 till Optifine portsback one feature. Optifine updated them saying they will port back this feature but beyond that, there is no other talks. Anyone know how quickly optifine is with updates? or anyone using PTGI know of a work around with E8 on 1.12.2?
Edit: Nevermind... looks like it wasnt released till 2 days ago lol. looked at the date wrong

The installer for Optifine HD U F2 for 1.14.3 isn't working
This is incorrect. When attempting to run the installer, please ensure you either have some form of JRE installed, or you run it with the JRE that Mojang bundles with the client. As I have OpenJDK installed, the installer works with a single click. Here is a video for you, showing proof:

Unfortunately, it's just that no version of OptiFine above 1.12.2 is yet able to be loaded by Forge. The current reason is this issue here, opened by sp614x on cpw's GitHub: https://github.com/cpw/modlauncher/issues/31
There was recently a PR for this which was merged, but the referenced issue is still open. I'm going to assume that this means there is still a problem with something related to it. There is also this issue on sp614x's GitHub, where he posts his progress and other discussion about it occurs: https://github.com/sp614x/optifine/issues/2148
Once issue #2148 on sp614x's GitHub is closed, we can safely assume that the next available pre-release will function with Forge.

i love this mod but i can't get better fps , i don't know why but in vanilla it's like 200 fps and with optifine 50 fps
i even restored the setings to default
if anyone knows how to fix it pls reply because i would love to use this mod
... um, did you not bother to look at your own screenshots?
In the one with 200+ fps, Minecraft is correctly using your GTX 1050. In the one with 50fps, Minecraft is incorrectly using your cpu's integrated graphics. Just open your Nvidia control panel, and create a profile with "javaw.exe" selected. This will ensure Minecraft always uses your GTX 1050.

So lately i've been having an issue where for some servers, including CosmicPvP, the texture is glitching to the point where I can't even tell what the blocks are. I've tried to delete optifine and re-install it, didn't work. The picture shows what i mean. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it. Because I would really like to keep optifine.

Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else was having trouble installing Optifine and has had no previous problem doing so until now.
I discovered my issue was a corruption in Java itself and using a small program called Jarfix ultimately cured my problem. After running this little program I could then install Optifine 1.14.4 - Hope this helps anyone with the same issue.
I get corrupted player head data when running a basic command from MinecraftPhi
To be clear, the only difference between Minecraft versions used is Optifine, and the command works fine without Optifine.

OK, I understand that Optifine is not supported by Forge, my issue is, it NEVER was in the 1st place (at least that's what the crash logs say.) So up until 1.14 came out, WHY doesn't Forge let Optifine run even though it says it's not supported? I do have to give Forge credit though for allowing me to continue to play with mods that can't run now... used to be that the game would tell you it can't run then force you to exit... So again, why wont Optifine run with Forge, regardless of compatibility?
- why wont Optifine run with Forge, regardless of compatibility?
...Specifically because of a lack of compatibility, probably.
OptiFine and Forge presumably modify some of the same sorts of things in vastly different manners. For example, I know that they both modify rendering in some ways, and since 1.13, OptIFine and Forge have probably done so in ways that are incompatible with how the other modifies the same stuff in different manners.
It's also not that long ago that Forge did something that was required for OptiFine to be runnable as a mod, although OptiFine hasn't yet taken advantage of that, I think.
OptiFine and Forge are planned to become compatible with each other again (and in fact, some specific versions of OptiFine (including the latest preview of OptiFine, "1.14.4 HD U F3 Pre1", unlike its latest full release, "1.14.4 HD U F2") have been "internally compatible" with Forge, but not in a way that allows end users to add OptiFine into Forge themselves yet), but it's not known for sure when that will happen. Though my (uneducated) guess is that the next version of OptiFine might be focusing on Forge compatibility, however that's only a guess.
As for why other mods would "work" "without" compatibility when OptiFine doesn't... Forge mods use Forge to do Forge stuff. Forge can try to ensure backwards compatibility with itself. OptiFine does OptiFine stuff alongside/beside/outside of Forge, and does not use Forge to do its stuff. Forge can't ensure backwards compatibility with that, as it's not a Forge thing at that point.
What is Optifine's email or source of contact?? Because my cape was stolen by someone. I have evidence also. I have no existing profile when I try logging in! and I've emailed optifine twice and it's been more than 2 weeks.
