This is bloody, heavy, manual work, that can not be automated.
I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say that I can't explain how grateful we all are for all the work that you do for this project, and you don't even get paid (minus the donations). Thanks so much for taking time out of your life to make something amazing. About the additional features list (TO DO and Nice-to-haves), were you ever planning on implementing any of those?
Thanks for optifine! Been using since it came out quite literally, although i haven't made an account here since. This is my first time actually making an account to thank someone on a post! Great job.
Excuse me, I need some help. I want to install Optifine onto Minecraft 1.7.10 but it won't work. I have installed it exactly the same way I did when installing it to 1.8.8, and it's the correct version as well. But when I launch the game up, it resets the version jar file and removes the mod!
Again, I have done everything correctly, it may be because my WinRAR trial has ended and I can't save the changes, I don't know. Do you know what the problem is?
What method are you using to install Optifine? Also... I'd recommend using 7-Zip since it's free and it can also open .jar files.
Is there any installation progress in which you should unzip it at all?
I mean... it's either:
Install Forge and put the file in your mods folder
or:
Run the .jar file with Java and follow the instructions
, right?
You can actually install Optifine directly into the .jar by using an archiving program (e.g. 7-Zip, WinRAR, etc.) and copying and overwriting any of the original files with the files from the Optifine .jar. this works with both Vanilla and Forge. however... this is method is more complicated and you're better off using the standard install unless it is required for/by a mod or something else.

I would make you coffee if I were there. Or maybe tea.... yeah tea is better for coding.
Take a tea break, you've earned it!

is optifine supporting new elytra designs and the optifine cape?
Ouch. Don't go there. Mods will descend on this thread and bring the ban-hammer.
As I understand it, the elytra will adopt whatever cape design you have. If you have the OF cape, it will work.
ITS HAPPENING

Seriously, you are my hero!
