I've covered this topic before . The constant Forge updates , reflect the latest GIT commit and the reverse engineering of Mojang's latest version ie ... ( 1.8.8 ) , by the Forge coding community https://github.com/MinecraftForge . The latest compile of Forge 1.8 build " x " = 1.8.8 functionality , or a work in progress and could be unstable . The Forge main build version , will always sit on 1.8 , because we compile and DE-obfuscate against MCP 1.8 . Optifine is a Coremod and sp614x must determine , first , a stable Forge version to patch against . If you have noticed a rapid succession of Forge builds , it's a good sign not to use them , as they are unstable . Watch the GIT , not the builds page . Use 1.8-forge1.8-11.14.3.1521 , for now . Hope this sheds some light on the mysteries of coding .TY
That's fine. I only bring it up to let the others know and to let the dev know. I know it is ultimately up to the dev if/when it gets patched to support newer forge releases. That being said I have been compiling my own Forge builds so that I can use it on servers still sitting on old bungeecord builds (the ones released in the gap where Forge was already sending a FML identifier but bungeecord error'd out with a mis-leading message not knowing how to handle it). I can't build anything older than 1523 for reasons unknown to me beyond the fact that the build system crashes part way through (can't even run gradlew setup). Newer builds are fine though so it seems something got fixed along the way.

The cape is a reward for supporting the development of Optifine . It should not mater , as long as the donator can see it . It's a bonus that all users of Optifine can see the donators cape . All supporter's are about to see the results of their generosity in the next version , Optifine 1.8 with built in shaders and Forge compatible. Something not even Mojang has accomplished . I love this mod because there is so many options to choose from on how you want your gameplay to be. I have a mac and I use this, and the only problem I have is that I love shaders, i tried all the lite and basic shaders, turned all of my settings off (except the ones don't need to) and even tried using optifine standard, ultra, and other fps boost mods and none of them make a difference. Help anyone?
Forge is for MC 1.8, NOT MC 1.8.8. To install Optifine with Forge mods, create a Forge 1.8 profile and put an Optifine version for MC 1.8 in the mods folder.

What I am trying to do is forcing world edit CUI on mc 1.8.8, I am not really sure if it going to work either.. >.< it uses lite loader and while both doesn't says 1.8.8, someone says it works :X ...
In all actuality... I wasn't complaining that the cape was not visible to non-Optifine users.
I was explaining how ridiculously unlogical it would be for the Optifine cape to be visible on a Minecraft version without Optifine installed.

I wonder what gives me more performance: If I unload ShadersMod-v2.4.7 (as a Liteloader mod) and use Optifine's solution instead, or if I continue using the original shader mod.
Are there performance improvements Optifine achieved, or is it mainly the same thing as the original mod?

Tested this, but I'm getting tonnes of invisible items. All plants/flowers, beds, doors, ladders, torches (but not the flames) and many mod added items. I turned off shaders and have no performance edits on. I've also turned off mipmaps, aa, ao, and natural textures. I'm also getting intermittent freezes. I had none of these issues with D5.

Here are a couple of screenshots to show you the difference. The mod set up is identical except I've swapped out versions of Optifine and forge. D5 is on 1521 and F6 is on 1543 in these screenshots, though F6 still has the exact same thing happening on forge 1521, and D5 crashes on 1543.

Ok,I ended up going through my mods one by one, and it turns out the invisible items only happens with Better Foliage installed with Optifine F6. Is this an issue on their side, or optifine's side? I've never had something like this happen before with better foliage.

Versions of forge later than 5121 don't currently work with Optifine. Try 1521.

Just a small issue but when fast render is off, the loading screens turn white. That's the only issue I found (so far).

Here are a couple of screenshots to show you the difference. The mod set up is identical except I've swapped out versions of Optifine and forge. D5 is on 1521 and F6 is on 1543 in these screenshots, though F6 still has the exact same thing happening on forge 1521, and D5 crashes on 1543.

I want to see the test on same forge 1521 verson . If problem is still there try removing plantmegapack and biomesofplenty to see if the textures show up .I see a lot of Block ID mismatch with these mods .

Load up each solution on the same map press F3 to get on screen Stats . Press F2 to get screenshot
Ok,I ended up going through my mods one by one, and it turns out the invisible items only happens with Better Foliage installed with Optifine F6. Is this an issue on their side, or optifine's side? I've never had something like this happen before with better foliage.
