I'd like to ask a question: Does Optifine affect monster dungeon generation?
Because I created a world twice with the same seed number: in one without OF, I found a skeleton dungeon; in another, with OF installed, the same spot was completely filled with dirt block, no chests, no monster spawner.
Also some of those small sand beaches by the ponds are dimished.
EDIT:
I deleted optionsof.txt and optionsshaders.txt. There! The dungeon was generated in the 3rd try. I have no idea which option could be the culprit.
Would you consider putting out a version of Optifine with "Custom Colors" removed?
Tbh, it kinda sucks that it's only partially-implemented, because there's no way to use Optifine for the performance & FPS boosts… at the same time as MCPatcher for the Custom Colors features it offers.
Right now, it seems that Optifine carries on the MCPatcher way of making it so that Grass and Foliage block colorings that are hardcoded in mods such as Biomes O'Plenty and The Seasons Mod, are discarded and reverted to vanilla's base colorings… BUT… Optifine doesn't allow the ResourcePack maker to implement their own .properties files in the RP. So the only way to avoid messing up BiomesOPlenty's colorings, is to disable "Custom Colors" in the menu… but THEN… Lightmaps don't work.
I think you gotta go all-or-nothing with implmenting it because if you don't… the user has to choose between Optfine and MCPatcher. It's a "You're damned if you do and damned if you don't" type situation for us Optifine users.
I was experimenting with the ofFullScreenMode in opensof.txt. Will this setting accept any full screen resolution or does this setting snap to pre-configured resolutions? I was testing 800x500 for instance in full screen, and it appears to be of a higher resolution. 1280x720 appears to work though.
If
I would use this with shaders and a texture pack on a high render
distance, what would be the better cpu, a 4 core cpu higher clocked or 6
core cpu slightly slower clocked? Basicly, the 6700k vs 5820k/5930k.
I am not sure if the 'multicore support'' does support up to 4 or 6 cores, maybe even more?
What
would be the best sweet spot cpu for the most fps? I am not talking
about price/performance just to be clear, just fps and the amount of
cores optifine does or will support in the future.
Thanks in advance.
A little bit off-topic, but if you want performance then go with whichever CPU has the best per-core performance.
If you're multitasking a lot while playing MC then you might prefer more cores. But hyperthreading on a 4 core CPU should be plenty anyhow.
Optifine no longer has the multi core option due to it being introduced into vanilla Minecraft.
Shaders will run on the GPU, the CPU's performance doesn't affect it much.

Custom Item Texture Support Please
Hi! I currently use custom item textures for my server but the problem is that I have friends that don't really have great computers and are "optifine dependent". They want to use the custom item textures that I provided in my resourcepack but when they switch to mcpatcher they have a massive FPS drop. I would also like custom item textures in optifine for myself since I use the new shaderpack option in optifine and some optifine features. I would be glad if you can add CIT support in the future

Really interesting. Then can we say there's no dungeon if we use optifine with default settings? (If we do not disable fastmath option)

Hey there! a couple of questions:
Last time when 1.8 was being released in the snapshots, you made a optifine ninja versions that were compatible with it.... will you do the same with 1.9?
if tha answer is negative, will it be a 1.9 version at all?.
I hope you will, so far the snapshots claims to improve performance, but, i stil cannot play without optifine.
Hey, so I have Forge 1.8 - 11.14.0.1281 installed and have the ShadersMod 1.8 2.4.12 and OptiFine 1.8 HD_U_C7 in the "mods" folder. The game loads up fine and as I was playing I seen a desert village and only some of the sandstone blocks and glass panes where not textured properly. Here is a screenshot:
I closed Minecraft and started it up again but without OptiFine and all of the blocks were normal. Just wondering if you had any idea on what is happening and how to get it back to normal?
I'm trying to put together a MC 1.8 server and modpack, and I'm giving OptiFine another shot. I have Minecraft 1.8.8. I have Forge 1.8-11.14.3.1521. I have OptiFine_1.8.8_HD_U_F3. All are installed according to my best understanding of the documented procedures.
If I use the Forge profile, Forge works perfectly, but OptiFine doesn't load.
If I use the OptiFine profile, OptiFine works perfectly, but Forge doesn't load.
If I use the Forge profile and drop Optifine in the mods folder, which used to work last time I tried OptiFine, MC crashes on launch.
Dude, you should really know better than to not read the OP or the last few pages of the thread.
Forge for Minecraft 1.8.8 does not exist.
You can figure out the rest on your own.
Doesn't exist?
Then how come I'm successfully using it?
Or are you telling me that my Forge profile isn't actually using the Minecraft version I think it is?
Either way, there's no need to be rude about it.
UPDATE:
OK, turns out the latter is the case. The launcher was lying to me. I told it "Use latest", and believed it when the profile said it was indeed using the latest. It wasn't. Installed OptiFine 1.8_HD_U_D5 and it works.
"If you're using Forge, you aren't running the MC version you think you are" would have been more helpful than just being rude about it.
I'm sorry CaerMaster, but after seeing you around about everywhere on these forums and seeing your postcount, I figured you should have known that Forge never updated and never will update beyond Minecraft 1.8. Well now you know
Wait never update for real or you are just joking because it hasn't updated in a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time?
hey man!
will u can add Shaders integrated to OptiFine 1.8.0 HD U D5? im just playing minecraft 1.8 with mods and optifine but Shaders mod kind of destroy my game, crashes and bugs :/
i know Optifine 1.8.8 have intergrated with Shaders but forge doesn't updated to Minecraft 1.8.8 :/
i'll be very happy if u'll add it, thx!
please.
Hey! I've been using Optifine for about 3 months now and it was extremely helpful, but suddenly, it's stopped working. As soon as I get onto a server, or sometimes even the title screen, my client will crash, but only when I'm using Optifine. I get the following error message each time:
I've tried everything I can think of from switching around versions to deleting both Minecraft and Optifine from my computer but nothing has worked. Looking for help asap! :c

Thank you for taking the time to make what is literally the best mod in existence! I know I speak for all of us when I say thank you!

1) It's not confirmed the "no dungeons" part, but I could say the dungeons will be generated not as intended or expected.
2) The default is FastMath=OFF. No panic. You can delete the optionsof.txt and test it.

Wait never update for real or you are just joking because it hasn't updated in a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time?
Long.
