S6 is a preview designed to work with shaders, you need E1 for maximum FPS.
Thanks for the heads up. Thing is.. I normally run with shaders in the past, no problems. And still have the FPS. Are you saying to not use shaders and that is the only way to get the FPS back ? Not trying to be rude, just trying to understand your comment a bit better.
I just want to make some things clear. Please respond with yes or no to the following statements:
1. With Vanilla and Vanilla, the two of you can connect.
2. When you have Optifine installed, you do not have Forge installed.
3. When you both have Optifine installed, neither of you can connect if the other one is hosting.
4. You have tried to connect directly to the LAN IP : Port Number like I suggested. (JonnyBrando gave an easier way to find this IP in the attachment to his post.)
Okay, my bad. It's not just optifine problems like I thought. For some stupid reason, it's even happening with both of us on regular 1.8.8!
1. No
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. No
I'm going to try doing that direct connect thing, though I don't know what good it would do because she can see my game in the menu. EDIT: Well, that didn't help. She got the same error as before. EDIT 2: The nightmare is over, and we can connect now, even with optifine on. Turns out it was because of some windows firewall baloney. Thank you for your time folks, your help is probably the only reason I got this fixed.
I have a problem with 1.7.10 version, HD C1 of optifine. After i explore my world a whole bunch the world stops generating visually (or I think so via Journey Map still loading some parts of the world). When I reload the world by exiting and re-entering, I just get a large area in a square that loads. The rest just doesn't load. It seems to be about 8 chunks long in radius. After I uninstall Optifine the world loads fine, but i install it again I get the same problem.
Any fixes? if this is new please tell me to post pictures and i'll do so as soon as i can
Trying to get Optifine to run through current version Mod Forge, all on 1.8.8. It pretty much doesn't want to work, no matter what I try. I checked over at the Mod Forge forums, but they say it isn't their problem to fix. Do you have any idea what might be the problem?

Trying to get Optifine to run through current version Mod Forge, all on 1.8.8. It pretty much doesn't want to work, no matter what I try. I checked over at the Mod Forge forums, but they say it isn't their problem to fix. Do you have any idea what might be the problem?
Have you ever read anything you didn't post? The most current version of Forge is 1.8(.0). What makes you think Optifine (1.8.8) will work with that? This has been explained probably 20 times in previous pages.
Problem? Read page 1, post 1 (including all spoilers and links). Then read the last 5 pages of posts (at least open and glance at spoilers and links). Had you done that you'd be playing now instead of feeling foolish!!!
And yes, there is a spoiler tag on your tool bar Use it!

I was playing an adventure map with Optifine (1.7.10) installed, and, well...
GG computer xD
I have no clue why it crashed (My render distance was supposed to be at 16 but it was at 3, could that be the issue?)
For texture packs, I was using SMP's revival (suggested texture pack).

there is no mod list... so i don't think we can troubleshoot if there is no full crash log that is located in your minecraft folder

The integrated server is crashing in class BlockPistonBase, not related to Optifine.
So I've read about integrated shaders support. What is that all about?
Can I just create a shaderpacks folder in the .minecraft folder, put shaders in there and start?
Or do I need to install GLSL, which I have problems with (but I'll post that in the mod's thread xD)?
Have you ever used the shader mode core? Basically, that mod is packed with the shader version of optifine. It works in the same way, except its a bit buggier & the shader menu is moved to the video settings menu.
Thanks for the heads up. Thing is.. I normally run with shaders in the past, no problems. And still have the FPS. Are you saying to not use shaders and that is the only way to get the FPS back ? Not trying to be rude, just trying to understand your comment a bit better.
Fixed in version E2: http://optifine.net/downloads
Awesome. Thank you. I'll check it out.
Thank you for your time folks, your help is probably the only reason I got this fixed.
will you be releasing optifinе with shaders in the future? or is this only for version 1.8.8
Have you ever read page 1, post 1? I didn't think so... maybe you should!

So, sp614x, do you ever plan on adding support for Biome Dependent mobs?
Random mobs with biome properties were added in OptiFine D5 for 1.8.4 and are available in all later versions.
Ah. Sorry for not staying up to date! You're doing great work, man! Keep it up!
They were?! Awesome, can you give an example of how they are written?
I have a very old example that doesn't work:
skins.4=7-9
biomes.4=Taiga TaigaHills IcePlains IceMountains
Everfree Server - A small & friendly survival build server for older 'Crafters.
Works nice is good have it like capes. that is a short run on sentence about optifine.
Have you ever read anything you didn't post? The most current version of Forge is 1.8(.0). What makes you think Optifine (1.8.8) will work with that? This has been explained probably 20 times in previous pages.
Problem? Read page 1, post 1 (including all spoilers and links). Then read the last 5 pages of posts (at least open and glance at spoilers and links). Had you done that you'd be playing now instead of feeling foolish!!!
And yes, there is a spoiler tag on your tool bar Use it!

Yes I read 1 page and there are links to optifine. I wonder if the Shader in other versions optifine? how in 1.8.8-optifine_HD_U_S6
The OptiFine shader support will not be ported to older minecraft versions, because:
- versions 1.8.1 to 1.8.8 only add bugfixes, the last one is recommended
- version 1.8.0 can use the classic Shaders Mod by Karyonix
- for older versions (1.7.x, 1.6.x) the shaders support will have to be rewritten from scratch
