Dear god... my minecraft usually only gets around 30 FPS, upon installing your mod I instantly got around 60-67 FPS and was able to set render distance to extreme! Thank you for letting me see my world clearly!!!
I noticed a bug in both the 1.8 and 1.8.1 versions. I tested this with both versions, with and without Optifine - it's only present with Optifine. The player's hand is improperly lit above Y-128, and will only be lit based on the time of day, before abruptly flickering much, much brighter. This happens once every few seconds. As in, I would stand next to a torch, and yet the hand would be lit as if I were deep underground, before suddenly flickering brighter than the torch for a split second, then going back to dark. This would happen regardless of how close to a light source I was, so long as I was above Y-128. Below Y-128, lighting is normal. It's only with the player hand in first person, however - on any other item, or in third person, the bug was not present. It is fairly bothersome since I play in first person, like having empty slots to see my skin's hand, and am currently playing on an Amplified world in high-up areas.
I'm new in Minecraft. I play MC 1.8 with Forge, OptiFine and LiteLoader (and HD texture packs).
I want to use in game CTM, conected texture mod. OptiFine has support of some CTM methods, for example horizontal, random or ctm. But I cannot use method=vertical in game (for sugar cane or colored glass), with OptiFine.

This may help people using the newer AMD drivers with lots of graphics issues
ULPS quite literally stands for Ultra-Low Power State. Think of it as a stand-by state for your graphics card(s). The idea is that when your displays are ordered into stand-by mode by the OS, the graphics card does the same and powers down everything that may be necessary to actually put a picture on the screen (presumably in conjunction with lowering its clocks). It also appears to affect secondary cards in Crossfire setups, turning them "off" when they're not in use.
Ideally it shouldn't have any effect at all when that's not happening, but various reports exist which say that disabling it has a positive effect. If you don't use stand-by features (like myself) than there's no harm at all in disabling it. No harm disabling it otherwise, either - just be aware that the card could be drawing 10w+ (depending on model, clock speeds, voltages, etc) over what it needs to when your system is on but the screens are in stand-by. Crossfire systems will draw that much more per extra card, even with the screens active. http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/gcn/Pages/gcn-architecture.aspx
Delete the corrupt ones and redownload it. Make sure any anti-virus or firewalls are blocking it from downloading.

File ..assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\ctm\sugarcane\block83.properties contains
method=vertical
tiles=0 1 2 3
or
method=vertical
tiles=0-3
but in game I see only "the middle" tile.
Example with glass:
Without OptiFine, only MCPatcher (vertical "logic" is OK):
With Optifine and LiteLoader (only one texture):
How set vertical multitextures with OptiFine? Or no chance yet? Thanks very much.
This is not how to get express written permission. Send sp614x a private message if you want to ask him.
Never arbitrary,

Yes, previous versions are here:

yeah yeah, i know, someone already gave him a download but why do you not want 1.8.1? its backwards compatible with 1.8 servers
For other mods like TMI, Shaders when it becomes compatible, etc.

Search for
EnableULPS
in your registry. Set it to 0. Restart.
2 Confirmed users who have this working on PXAI devices.
Also confirmed via UnifL 14.12 test set.
Also here is a utility to turn it On/Off . I just copied the Batch commands from the page and made my on Batch file . I didn't use the Autoit exe file

It fixed all my graphics issues
Even just having the mod still installed could cause issues, a shader doesn't have to be selected.
