I lose my clouds every time I install this mod. My clouds are ON in the options and they are at 66%.
First I was fine with no clouds but now I'm starting to miss them. Helllppp!!!

66% is pretty high to put the clouds. Put the percentage lower.
The 1.6.3 patch was to fix chunks location of Villages, Witch Huts etc.. of where they can spawn.
It fixed it so they don't get messed up when 1.7 comes around; So there is a reason to update.
Yes there's a reason to update. There isn't a reason to keep using that version.
The version was made for people who want to use their worlds for the snapshots. It provides nothing for those who aren't planning to test the features of 1.7 until it comes out, which won't be for some time.
I tried making it on about 30 different precentages. None worked. It's just that the clouds are totally invisible/dissapeared.
Keep testing Minecraft while you're doing these steps:
Make sure clouds are enabled in the options menu. Turn cloud height off, and make sure your current resource pack (if you're using one) supports either 3D clouds, as some texture packs sometimes render 3D clouds terribly or incorrectly. If you are using a recourse pack, disable them and use the default Minecraft pack, then do the steps before.
If nothing seems to work, delete the Optifine options in your .minecraft folder, run Minecraft without Optifine installed, put your graphic settings to the default, then reactivate Optifine and set the cloud options from there.
If none of that works, then I can't really help you. It might be a hardware issue.
Wondering if anyone can help me with this problem. I posted it here before but no one gave me an answer.
So I'd love to play on Extreme Render Distance, I have a GTX 680 video card and 24GB of RAM, so my PC can definitely handle it. But there's a problem, whenever I switch to Extreme it doesn't load any chunks beyond Far, but it does push the fog back further. Just, there's no blocks out beyond Far so the fog being out further doesn't help anything. It's easier to show you:
Render Distance set at Far:
Render Distance set at Far, and zoomed in:
Render Distance set at Extreme:
Render Distance set at Extreme, and zoomed in:
As you can see, there's no difference between the two render distances. Only the fog is pushed back. This has been an ongoing problem for me, through multiple Minecraft and Optifine versions, and with or without other Mods. Nothing seems to affect it. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas.
Hello,
I donated to optifine exactly a month ago and have contacted you via the optifine refund email numerous times throughout the month...with no response.
Can you please refund my donation?
thank you

Render Distance Extreme is only effective in single-player worlds. In multi-player the server controls the maximum visible distance and it is usually limited to Far to spare the server bandwidth.

Thank you answering, and this I have heard before. But the problem also happens in my single player worlds. Those screenshots were all from single player.
Also, I'm curious do you know how to change that setting in multiplayer if you're the server owner? If I can get this fixed in single-player, I'd like to fix it in multiplayer as well.
md_5, andrewkm and dinnerbone have managed to find and track down a user authentication exploit, that in certain cases can allow players to login as other players.
This exploit has been found in the wild, and came to the attention of some server owners noticing odd behaviour in their server logs. At this point however, most of the reports of affected servers have been running Spigot.
While the exploit will effect vanilla and CraftBukkit servers, a recent change to Spigot adjusting the threaded behaviour of the login checks, greatly increased the chances of someone pulling off the exploit.
During testing we found it was possible to replicate this exploit on a Spigot (versions 1082-1089) with a success rate of above 10%, while on vanilla/CraftBukkit servers the current exploit code had a success rate of less than 1%.
For people running the effected versions of Spigot (versions 1082-1089), I would recommend upgrading to 1090 which should help to address this issue.
Until this patch gets applied mainstream (manages to make it through QA) keep a close eye on your server log, for failed user login attempts. It might also be a good time to check your backup system, just in case a more wildly reproducible version of this exploit is developed while you are tucked up in bed.
~
Just to reiterate, this is not a Spigot issue, but people running Spigot 1082-1089 have a higher chance of being affected than other users.
It would be really nice to get this updated to 1.6.4 - many users who play online can no longer use 1.6.2 as all servers are slowly updating. (As they very well should be)

I would have to agree with andrewkm getting to updated to more than just a preview would be awesome as I can't get much done on massive structures or markets in Andrew's server without optifine which I am very grateful that you work so hard to provide to improve mine and others experiences.
When I put the Optifine in the Minecraft forge Version 9.11.0.880 Optifine wont work? I did a fresh install of minecraft It just wont start the game lanucher starts up then I hit play and it doesn't load.
Hi, i have a problem, i donated a long time ago and my Cape is not showing, it usually does but for some reason its not, is the Optifine cape server down or something?
Hi there, I installed Optifine Ultra for minecraft 1.6.4 and it is great, except for one thing. The chunks are flickering. Is there a way to fix that? Also, someone on a server told me that using the multi-core option in video settings is bad for the computer? Is this true? Because I don't want to harm my computer in any way. Thank you!

Because of an authentication exploit which was recently patched.

Change the view-distance in server.properties: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Server.properties
I'm assuming that's for the multiplayer. As on my single player worlds there doesn't appear to be a "server.properties". Thanks!
