Why is it I need to press ESC when I want the world to load properly? if Im just playing and standing still, chunks takes FOREVER (30min+) to load to my set view distance. if I press ESC they load up within 10 seconds. Whats up with this, anyone know? It happends in smooth/normal/multicore settings.
I found a weird bug (only mods installed are TooManyItems, Mine Little Pony, and (of course,) Optifine.) I also use Magic launcher if that matters. So anyway, I try to turn Debug Profiler off, but for some reason, it just automatically turns back on. Even if I do it externally through the optionsof.txt file. I'd love to post the screenshots of proof, but I have no idea how to. XP
Will this fix those dark patches that keep popping up in the world? You know, these little patches of completely black land that go away when you get close to them? They aren't a huge deal usually, but in Risugami's Biospheres, dark spots large enough for mobs to spawn tend to show up on the bridges. That's a pretty big problem.

Don't quote me, since I'm not the developer. But I believe those lighting problems are a bug in Minecraft itself, and at least partially fixed with 1.5's enhanced lighting. Jeb mentioned it's not a complete fix, though.
I think D4 and d5 have ctm problems. On d5, the texture of my stone stair is different. D3 is fine though.
With D5 and D4:
With D3:
Pretty stairs in the first example. Is that Dokucraft? Personally, it looks like D3 was wrong (since it applied the generic texture to all faces), and D4/D5 are rendering as intended. You'd have to verify this with the texture creator, of course.

It's John Smith. Honestly for the second pic I just turned CTM off because I was too lazy to switch jars... but seriously, it's how it looks in D3 with ctm on.
Is there a bug with D5? It seems my Minecraft gets stuck at the end of the "Loading" screen screen (the one right before the Mojang splash).
I'm using:
MC 1.4.7
Minecraft Forge #518
Optifine D5 Ultra
Windows 8 Pro x64
Java JRE 7 Update 15
GeForce GTX670
nVidia Driver: 314.07
C3 Ultra works fine, but the minute I use D5 Ultra, my game hangs on the beginning loading screen. I've tried Java 7 Update 11, rolling back my graphics drivers, restarting the system, redoing my minecraft.jar, starting with a fresh install of Minecraft, etc. Nothing seems to fix it. Anyone else having this problem with D5 Ultra?
I fixed it. Forgot to delete the META-INF folder. :/

This is a vanilla lighting problem that is quite old, not related to OptiFine.
Im getting crazy memory leaks in D5 with latest Forge 534. Just thought u could look into the issue. I wish i could give you a log or something but my mc just crashes and the console in MultiMC shows nothing happening.
Never mind. I guess that's an old bug or something. The last time I played was 1.2.5, but I just played the newest version of Biospheres, and there weren't really any dark patches. They only appeared under trees and giant mushrooms, and it was nothing like the large, pitch-black areas of old. Certainly not "most bridges are so dark, monsters spawn in crowds and spill out the sides," like it used to be.
I guess I should've checked that before I started asking things on the forums.
Apparently this only occurs when mipmaps are turned on in Optifine, which is what i've recently discovered.
Whether this affects any other Texturepacks I have no clue.
With Mipmaps
Without Mipmaps
This also Effects Texture animations too
Without Mipmaps
With Mipmaps
Anyone else have an idea as to why this is yet? Or a fix to it besides turning off mipmaps? I also find that there is a visible box around dropped items as well.

Either disable AA/AF in the graphics control panel OR enable AA/AF in OptiFine.

Aurora Orbis
Server Operator
It has single core targeted options, so I'm assuming it'll work.
Also, there isn't any reason why it shouldn't utilize the hyper threading.
Can't hurt to try, right?
