Currently using Optifine D3 and Forge #524, modded with Dynamic Lights, Twilight Forest, and Thaumcraft 3.
While playing on single player, I noticed that ALL GUI textures are missing, showing only "Missing Texture" in the background. I am using the Default Texture pack and have experienced this problem many times before while using Forge #490(?) and Optifine C3. I did some poking around and researched the issue (Forge forums point at Optifine) and have tested for myself by removing Optifine from my selection of mods. Once removed, the textures return...
While it does still run and functions as it should, the missing textures on all GUI puts a massive damper on actually playing Minecraft.
A bugfix for this would be greatly appreciated.
I posted my own workaround to this bug a few pages back. At least I think its the same bug, you havent said anything about crashing when exiting the game. But I bet you have mipmaps enabled. Just open the thaumcraft zip and find the file burst.png and resize it to half.
Got Macro mod? Liteloader does that, it needs the thing to work but Optifine wants to remove it completely so it gets forced. If Optifine didn't fiddle with the F3 screen it wouldn't show up.
Doh! I tucked Liteloader & Macro into my setup for the first time as I updated OptiFine to D3. You were right on the money, and long before I remembered that there is now more to my setup than I'm used to. Alas, I was afraid I had missed a detail in this thread - that'll teach me. Can you be more specific? I read something about using vanilla map size or something like that but again thought it was fixed. It isn't for us. If this has to do with forge version, I've updated to the recommended version already.
There's a mod currently that disables Depth Dimming, in addition to turning off the black void fog that Optifine is capable of.
It isn't compatible with Optifine - it edits ban.class and in-game, this causes Water and other transparent blocks, like Portals to not render at all.
Can we merge this feature into Optifine? Can I merge it myself?
I'd love to see this implemented too! Would make such a difference on those crazy-tall builds that start from un-vanilla-ry (yeah, it's a word... ) low heights.

I've found a small problem with the Custom Colors mod. The custom redstone color, it fades correctly on the redstone texture itself, but the particles released from the redstone torch and the redstone do not fade correctly, they are all using the lowest redstone value. Here are some screenshots.

I'm using the Magic Launcher, and the newest Optifine ultra, along with a 32x32 texture pack.
When I try to load a world, Minecraft runs out of memory. Without Optifine, it loads fine.
I have no other mods running.
I have all settings as low as I can set them.
Mismatching forge versions between the server and the client are ok. As long as the beginning parts of the forge version are the same, everything's fine.
eg - if you have a mindcrack client, you can update it's forge from 6.6.0.515 to 6.6.0.518 with no probs, because althogh the build versions are the same, forge has not technically changed versions, so although it's a different build of forge, it;s still the same version (6.6.0). This basically means that if you were to update to lets say 6.6.1.524, you would no longer be able to connect to any other mindcrack servers, because now there is a version mismatch from 6.6.0 to 6.6.1.

EDIT: So I tried to find some mobs, and am Forge 518 and couldn't see any... does this mean that the server requires 518 before it is fixed?
It says there's anti-aliasing, but how do I use it? I've looked through the options, and there's nothing. Block textures look very aliased from afar. Can anyone help me here? Please PM me if you reply, as I lose track of threads easily.

You are talking about server lag/latency. OptiFine resolves Client Lag or FPS drops.
