Can I just add this to MC Patcher?
or is that not possible?
Everytime i try to get this mod.
i get a black screen
It's amazing how many people can't install a mod properly. Even with the countless YouTube videos and tutorials people write. Do you honestly think that the mod is broken just because you get a black screen? Even though there are 50+ pages of people thanking the developer of this mod on how it has improved their Minecraft experience.
If you can't understand how to install this mod from the very simple steps on the 1st page, which are the same for 90% of all the other mods, then maybe you should rethink installing mods all together.
I have installed optifine just fine but I have a problem..When I play I get this glitch where you can see through the ground(like a beta hole or like when you use mc edit and see through the ground when tou are under it)..Any help or suggestions??I have installed the multicore version of optifine and my pc specs are windows 7 64 bit home premium
i5-2500k (not overclocked) and gtx 570..I also use the Too many items mod 1.1 and I'm on the 1.1 version of minecraft..
I get this problem too, but only when I use 256x texture packs. Im using an AMD 9500 @ 2.2 ghz with an AMD 6670.
Apologies if this has been asked before but upon installing optifine A5 AA alongside the water shader mod, the water in my game is invisible. Is this a known issue or have I done something wrong? I couldn't see it listed as a compatible or non-compatible mod in the OP.
I have ModLoader,Optifine and Water Shader working fine together. What you need to do to fix the invisible water bug is to set the Graphics option to Fast, that should fix your issue.
For those who are having trouble install Water Shader with optifine there's a certain order you need to do it in to get it to work. From memory you have to install ModLoader then Optifine then Water Shader.
I have the nVIDIA Geforce GTX 460, with i5-2300 2.8 Ghz Quad Core, 8 Gb RAM = My feedback is:
First installation, it worked perfectly, except for one thing, the chunk (and a small area of chunks around the chunk I was in) flickered when I stepped on something that had a relation to redstone. Pressure plates made it flicker, pistons make it flicker. All redstone activity seems to make the area flicker, almost like a blink.
HOWEVER
I followed your tip on blinking issues, and turned off Threaded Optimization in my nVIDIA Control Panel (It was on auto). Now, I must say I do not know the overall drawbacks to my system by turning this off (Will it affect other games/operations?) but needless to say, it fixed my flickering problem, for now. And the 3x Chunk Loading is amazing!
Now, if you could tell me what Threaded Optimization does, I will feel a lot more obliged to keep using Multi-core Optifine (I really want to). If it turns out it negatively affects any other games, I may have to go back to Standard, or Smooth.
Hello. I'm having a little glitch that I think is caused by Optifine. When installed, parts of the animals' textures are invisible. If a solution has been previously posted, I apologize. I run Ubuntu 11.10 as my OS, and my only mod is Optifine. This mod is GREAT though!

Try changing FPS to VSync or change your graphics card's settings for Vertical Sync to on, I read this somewhere but it worked when I was using 256x Photo RPG Pack

Great to see CTM added to Optifine! One question, though: I take it that the chest part of CTM doesn't do anything despite being in ctm.png, right?
Also, as has been said before, if you enable Connected Textures in the options, you have to provide a ctm.png in the texture pack root with the textures you want or you'll get the vanilla ones. If your pack doesn't support CTM, simply disable this option to get the regular pack textures back.

Threaded Optimization basically forces OpenGL into a multi-threading mode. It was implemented in an incredibly hacky way however so you almost never see anyone do anything but complain about it. Most modern games implement OpenGL in a way that negates Threaded Optimization(As in already properly threaded), and the chances of you encountering a program old enough to use it(Pre-2005 and uses OpenGL roughly) that you can actually benefit from the effects of Threaded Optimization is pretty close to zero.
Hey, i've been using optifine for a while now to run Faithful 32x pack. And all of a sudden it's changing the birch/pine leave colours to the oak colour. Could you help me with this? It's quite annoying.. Also, the colours are fine with mcpatcher.

The bug is fixed and will be available in next release.

This seems to be a Linux issue (something about the OpenGL drivers) and the solution is to use the Standard edition.
Disabling swamp colours doesn't work properly.
It only removes the colouring on the normal trees. Birch and pine are still swamp coloured.
..
And breaking particles are still swamp coloured.
..
Also, connected textures causes ghost blocks. It's hard to explain, so if you can't find it yourself I'll have to upload a video.
The birch and pine swamp colors are fixed. The breaking particles are harder, I will take a look.
I have not seen any ghost blocks with Connected Textures.

The Threaded Optimization has little effect on the performance (if any at all) and may safely be turned off.
It generally conflicts with games which try to use OpenGL multithreaded, like OptiFine.
In other words, normal OpenGL works like this:
=> OptiFine: Prepare chunk
<= OpenGL: OK (chunk ready)
=> OptiFine: Draw chunk
<= OpenGL: OK (chunk drawn)
and all are happy.
With Threaded Optimization:
=> OptiFine: Prepare chunk
<= OpenGL: OK (chunk NOT prepared, only scheduled for update on update thread)
=> OptiFine: Draw chunk
<= OpenGL: OK (draws chunk empty, update thread still not finished)
... and 2-3 frames later the chunk is ready and starts drawing normally.

I have not seen any ghost blocks with Connected Textures.
Here's a video of the bug, it happens using both fast or fancy connected textures. I have no other mods installed.
Other than that, it functions HEAPS better than the original connected textures mod. It'll be great to use once this little problem is fixed.
Does it work without the texture pack on? That might be causing the issue because I didn't get that problem (although I only tested briefly)
Identical thing happens with no texture pack.
I also tried resetting my graphic settings (deleting options.txt), but it still happens after turning connected textures back on.
I've tried the standard and smooth versions as well, and they both do it.
Minecraft without Thaumcraft is like a pizza without cheese, tasteless !!!

Yo.
Ah, I see
Thanks for the info

*facepalm*
install optifine after forge(as in install forge first then optifine)
