Good god, sir. That looks complicated as hell. But for the sake of "better DL" I will make a backup of what I have now (All forty something mods) and TRY to comprehend your guide, but I expect to fail... Miserably... And I have the attention span of a goldfi.... HEY LOOK! A CASTLE!
First, the results. Initially I got ~30FPS with vanilla minecraft. Using standard increased FPS by about 50% which is nice. However there's this: http://i.imgur.com/LRAif.jpg It's not permanant, if I turn the camera or move the black stuff disapeers but I can still see it flashing.
Also I'm not sure if you can do anything about this but Minecraft doesn't seem to be shutting down its X window properly:

Thanks.
Also, I honestly do not know which Java VM I'm using, there's like 12 available on Ubuntu 12.04
[Edit]
Oh **** java is segfaulting on me. And dpkg is hosed. Dammit. Wow I hate java.
[Edit #2]
I got the different API installed. Frame rate is down to 20FPS.
why is my Swamp not blending is this a bug with OptiFine am on 1.1
and with bettersnow and bettergrass is it possible to fix this
The swamps not blending well is most probably a texturepack problem.
If the texturepack has /misc/foliagecolor.png and /misc/swampfoliagecolor.png then it has direct control over the blending and does not use the default blending.
I am using your Magic Launcher (which is terrific) along with Optifine. I have two profiles set up, one for OptifineAA, one for OptifineMT. If I launch with my MT profile, then swap back to my AA profile, my AA settings are lost. I notice that the ofAaLevel and ofAfLevel are being deleted from options.txt by OptifineMT. Is there any chance you could make it ignore these settings, rather than delete them, so they will still hold when I switch back to OptifineAA? I know I could specify a different base folder in Magic Launcher, but I'd rather not have to maintain duplicate Minecraft folders (external mods, etc.). Thanks!
Hi, I have a bit of a problem, and unfortunately, there's really no way to get a picture of it. You see, whenever a chunk updates for any reason, it flickers to being invisible and back to normal for a split-second. It's only a minor annoyance, but it gets freaking annoying when lots of chunk updates occur (i.e. ice spreading over an ocean). Without Optifine, this doesn't happen, so I'm guessing it's cause by Optifine. I'm using the multi-core version since my computer is a quad-core. I am using other mods with this (TMI, SPC, other utilities that couldn't mess with Optifine), but I doubt they would affect Optifine, seeing as none of them have effects on chunk updates. If you need any computer specifications, I'll gladly provide them.

are you sure that this wsorks with glsl shaders?on their wiki says that:
Optifine - Does NOT work with OptiFine 1.0.0_HD_AA_B2, use 1.0.0_HD_C (or higher) instead. (Be sure to install it BEFORE installing GLSL)
Optifine AA versions - Bump-mapping shaders may not work properly. Use MT versions instead.

Disable "Threaded Optimization" in your graphics card control panel.
Mod doesn't seem to work for me. I copied ALL class files and have deleted META-INF. I don't get an error message the game just plays as if in Vanilla. This is not my first mod. I've installed tons of other mods though currently I don't have any so I definitely know what I'm doing. to you if you can help me in my predicament

You can't, and you don't need :
OptiFine HD A4 Smooth for Minecraft 1.1
(extends Standard edition, removes lag spikes)
OptiFine HD A4 Multi-Core for Minecraft 1.1
(extends Smooth edition, uses second core on multi-core processors)
That means standard edition is included in smooth edition, which is included in the multi-core version.

Any idea about this sp614x?
No idea what this could be.
Added to TODO list.
Check my Youtube Channel, RxDTheMinecrafter!
It says which work and which don't.
