Hello, hello. I'm Favorlock from the Bashurverse crew. We would like to request that you provide the source to RenderGlobals.java (l.class) to us for private use. The reason behind this is the fact that my Cape Removal (CPR) mod is incompatible with optifine due to the clash between optifine and cpr. We really need the source to your mod for this particular file so I can simply comment out the lines necessary to prevent capes from appearing and incorporate the class into the client that Bashurverse uses for recording Legend of Hobo. If you don't believe me, just check out the post regarding my mod. The best way to contact me is via twitter. My Twitter account is Favorlock.
Minecraft may be generating a lot of errors. Get the Magic Launcher or the MCPatcher and check the log for errors. If it is constantly complaining, then something is wrong with the installation (for example installing OptiFine on a patched minecraft.jar).
no errors what so ever and optifine was installed on a clean jar
I get this error on a CLEAN minecraft.jar I kept trying after 3 backups, it just wont work!

Stopping!
SoundSystem shutting down...

For some reason, I can't use Glimmar's steampunk pack with optifine, but it works fine with MCPatcher. is there any reason for this? I like using Optifine because of everything it does, but I also like my fancy texture packs.
Note: Glimmar's pack is the only pack that this happens with. all my other HD packs work fine
Edit: I cannot select the pack, if i try to, it switches to the default
Edit Edit: it worked fine when i had optifine installed when i was using 1.0 with the technic pack
Actually this is an issue on the Texture Pack's end. (I was having the same issue with it.) In the color.properties file you need to remove the spaces from the end of some of the items in there. Someone found that fix in the topic for the TP, Glimmar's gonna fix it when he updates the Texture Pack.
That get's Glimmar working.
To get the custom sky and torch lighting you still need to use MCpatcher's Custom Colors patching, so remember to install Optifine through MCpatcher.
I get this error on a CLEAN minecraft.jar I kept trying after 3 backups, it just wont work!

Your graphics card does not support OpenGL shared context (WGL_ARB_create_context) which is required for the multi-core edition. Possible solutions:
A. Update graphics drivers and try again
B. Use the smooth edition.
I'm not sure whether this has been posted before but whenever I start up Minecraft the screen will appear black until I click on the window :/ Never happened with previous version. I'm using the AA version btw. Doesn't really bother me but it made me wait minutes after the actual game had already started, me thinking it was still loading :tongue.gif:.
Can someone explain why I am getting this snow/water glitching effect with Optifine installed? I have the latest 1.1 Standard version of Optifine and the only other mod I am running is Improved Chat. All settings are at default. Tried all setting changes, but no help. Texture pack is Sphax but this also happens on default. Two different video cards and same result.
You've already used the MCPatcher, and unless you install it and OptiFine together correctly, they won't work together.
Just start with a new .jar
Open Minecraft launcher
Click "Options"
Click "Force Update"
Login as normal
Then either, install OptiFine only. (By adding the .class files to minecraft.jar) OR
Install OptiFine using MCPatcher and unselect "HD Textures", "HD Fonts" and then Patch the game.
But in all honesty, you shouldn't need to use the Patcher for anything. OptiFine incorporates everything MCPatcher does except for Custom Colours, which I think are going to be added soon.
EDIT: Oh damn, ninj'd by the boss, like a boss. =P
Thanks it worked.
I used the optifine without mcpatcher, but cant I use HD textures or?
(srry im noob)
I can add an option "Capes: ON/OFF"
Where's the info about "If you really need MCPatcher's Random mobs"?
It is updated now.
no errors what so ever and optifine was installed on a clean jar
my specs i7 920, 6GB ram, nvidia GT220

i guess you're trying to do this while playing?
Try it again on the main menu before playing a world.
No, it is not normal.
It uses random mob textures, which are provided by the current texture pack.
Download OptiFine 1.0.0_HD_MT_D3
Here is my channel on youtube for you to look at my stuff
Installing OptiFine on a minecraft.jar patched with MCPatcher's HD Textures is not going to work.
Because it is against the spirit of survival, it has to be inconvenient.
Also beds allow to skip the night.
That would be nice. They need this as soon as possible. If you could work this in over the next couple days we'd appreciate it.

Maybe the first post in the thread has something to say about HD textures, you should read it.
