excuse the noobness, but, everytime i add in the mod into magiclauncher, everything work perfectly, but then when i start up my own minecraft program and not the test version in magic launcher, it's still the same, and i still get lag spikes every now and then. what the hell is happening? ;_; it works perfectly fine, even better, when i test it on magic launcher, but when i start it up on my own program, there aren't those options and everything still works the same. is it supposed to be like this or am i doing something wrong? ;_;
EDIT: yes, i am using 1.1, yes i am using the 1.1 preview for optifine. yes, i read the instructions. so do i use magic launcher to log into minecraft or the program itself?
Hey sp614x, I think you may have compiled your preview release of Optifine 1.1 with Java 1.6+ so it's not running for me. I can't say if that's why for sure, but I know in the past we spoke about the 1.6+ issue and you've been really nice about compiling everything in 1.5. All I know is I'm getting black screened when I install manually or with MCPatcher 2.3.1. *shrugs*
EDIT: I should note when installing with MCPatcher, I disabled everything else so Optifine 1.1 was the only thing it was installing. Besides that, it was a fresh copy of all the 1.1 files.

Are you using the 1.1 test version? or are you using a main download of 1.0.0 optifine. That could be your problem. also delete META-INF in the jar.

I grabbed the pre-release. It's in my downloads folder as Optifine_1.1_HD_A. Domino, I've been using Optifine since way back in the day when it was called Optimine and then Optifog so I feel confident in saying I know how to install it. I tried it manually by tossing just the two Mojang_c files, and dumping the entire Meta-inf folder. Neither worked. Both ways, as well as with MCPatcher are just giving me a black screen like it did once upon a time when sp614x originally switched from compiling in 1.5 to 1.6 Java. I'm sure any number of things could be going wrong, but that's just what comes to mind because I know I'm installing it correctly and that issue has come up once before.
Odd - I've updated to 1.1 and installed the new Optifine preview version and am getting a LOT of green lines, even with Millénaire, as opposed to before.
I'm just curious, was this an update to vanilla or is Optifine getting even better? : O I did notice memory usage for the actual Minecraft program has increased with 1.1. It used to consume about 256MB, which justified the custom loader CMD (even with HD packs and mods), but now it goes almost near the 512MB mark. Perhaps that's what's causing the extra performance?
Either way, me likes. :3 Just curious about the source of it.
If you missed it, the first page has a preview version that works very swell.
i music sometimes
There is a temporary release at the top of the first post.

We need more info.

This is possible. I will take a look at tomorrow and fix it.

EDIT: Just for you Domino :3
Are you on Minecraft 1.1? If so you need to download the preview version.

That 'A' version for 1.1 works just fine. Sound is choppy but good framerate.
