I think Optifine has a bug when starting up the game, the sound for Minecraft does not work. I am not sure this is true but when testing w/o it, sound was successful at working. But when starting w/ Optifine, 50% of the time would end up w/ no sound.
I believe this happened with pre-5 vanilla for me, so it isn't exactly optifine I think. Probably has to do with Mojang screwing up how files are loaded.
Howdy, I love OptiFine, but I seem to be having an issue with the Connected Textures feature. For the record, I am using OptiFine HD B2 Ultra for Minecraft1.8. I am using Minecraft version 1.8. As for texture packs, I have tried using the Sphax PureBDCraft for Minecraft 1.8 (I used the 64x64 first and then upgraded to the 128x128 after taking out the 64x64 version) as well as the Default Texture Pack.
After downloading the Optfine HD B2 Ultra version from the first page, I ran the .jar installer as instructed and have selected the Optifine profile when launching Minecraft. Every feature seems to be working, except for Connected Textures. When I place glass blocks, iron blocks, gold blocks, or diamond blocks (in either Default of Sphax TP), the textures do not connect as they should (as I've seen them do before in 1.7.x). I have made sure that the option for Connected Textures is on (I have tried both Fast and Fancy to see if there was any change), but the textures still do not connect.
Perhaps I've done something wrong and the solution is simple.
Like PukkaPie49 said, there is still a persistent issue with Soartex Fanver + Optifine that consists in an issue making the sticks on repeaters go invisible on Sortex Fanver and i tried it without Optifine and they were visible. A screenshot will be available below.
"It’s 100% compatible with 1.8" - Thats what the update say, so I guess it was just some glitches like animals glitching throught blocks like fences on servers and stuff, I'll try it out in a minute tho
First of: Great mod! I'm allways using it and it makes life less laggy, it's one of the top 5 Mos i allways use.
Anyways, why i post has also a little reason. Optifine_1.7.10_HD_A4 makes a lot of blocks disapere in certain mods.
Mods which i have loded and have problems with Optifine are: Railcraft, IndustrialCraft2, Carpenter's Block.
Those 3 Mods which i have here, have the problem that lot's of Stuff are invisible when using Optifine. When taking Optifine off, the Stuff return visible. So Optifine makes that problem. Also i tried the Ultra version, same problem.
Will there be any fixes for this?
Or any tipps besides taking Optifine off? (because i don't wanna take Optifine off, otherwise laggy world..)
I also used search, but there was nothing what i could find about this problem here in this topic.
A side from this, There's no other sort of warning after initiating the game with Soartex Fanver.
The render pass and lightmap warnings are not releated to the problem.
Can you try to:
- disable Custom Sky
- disable Connected Textures
- disable Random Mobs
- check if there are other affected blocks
Using latest version of optifine without any mods or resource packs and I'm getting this weird block break/place lag on my solo world. Also I can't set my render to 10+ or higher, I get this anomaly which looks like a random chunks are blinking and repeated. I can get a screenshot if you need one.

I have made a nr of posts on this issue as well as some others, calling it an x-ray glitch. Try using forge build 1230, because for me this same issue started when I got any version of forge higher then 1230. If you have some mods that require a higher version of forge (like the newest treecapitator does) try going one version back and see if that supports 1230. That way the disappearing textures will return!

If the problem is appearing between Forge 1230 and 1231 then it should be relatively easy to find.

Any word on the block breaking lag?
I think he's trying to say that, in the OP, the links are for B2 Ultra but it says "Download OptiFine 1.8.0_HD_U_A4".
LOL
