im having a problem with shadows coming up at very dark areas that don't blend. I forgot the setting to change to fix it. The moment I walk under some messed up shadow areas it auto corrects itself.
for some reason a couple of version ago both my computer and my brothers computer would not render pas far render distance even when extreme is selected. im not sure if this is a optifine problem or a java problem.
This is a MC problem as chunks do not render past Short+48. So just keep it at that setting and hopefully it can be fixed. Unless you are playing on a server that has upped the rendering distance.
The multi-core version of the 1.2.5 version of this mod produces absolutely amazing results, my industrialcraft / redpower world was on the verge of unplayability due to lag spikes and this mod corrected the problem.
I rate this mod at 5 diamonds out of a possible 5 diamonds.
Correct me if i'm wrong, and i very well could be because i haven't updated my mods in forever, but anyway. Didn't Optifine have the ability to show set coordinates before? Is that either not added now or am i completely blind and missing it somehow? I used to use Multi Core, and i now use Ultra. Thanks in advance.

Just a dude that's into Minecraft that's always looking for new texture packs, mods, etc.
Not sure if you are aware of this, but "connected textures" disables the active texture pack for upside-down sandstone stairs that are below sandstone stairs. Sandstone stairs below most blocks = your texture pack. Sandstone stairs below sandstone stairs = default texture pack.
Please add an option to disable connected textures for sandstone stairs. Even with my texture pack disabled (so they tile properly), I don't like how they look.

Any ideas?
Are you referring to shading errors? They exist in Vanilla Minecraft, they have nothing to do with Optifine, they're just lighting glitches that have been in the game for over many past versions. They're supposedly going to be fixed up in 1.4.
I CTD silently with no error reports or logs a few moments after I raise view distance to anything above Normal (128). My RAM isn't close to the max, and changing other settings has no effect.
If anyone has a fix, would be appreciated.
Great mod, but will there ever be support for the use of more than 2 cores on the multicore setting. I have a quad core processor and would like to let minecraft take full advantage of it.
OK, I'm installing everything one at a time and when I installed this and change just a few settings, I got this error:

Can you tell me what went wrong?
