FYI
OptiFine 1.5.1_HD_U_C4 & Sphax BDCraft with Custom Skies enabled:
Many of the icons are either black or some other texture (portal?) every time the game is started. Selecting the (already selected) texture pack again fixes the problem as does switching off custom skies.
What's up with custom skies?
Try loading MC in windowed mode as well with custom skies on. That seems to fix it as well for me.
Also SP if you read this, I use 38 mods in my standard set up and other than Redpower2 (still waiting on upgrade) it appears everything else is working like a charm. I did run into an issue with CCMiscperiph so im waiting on updates there too, but thats alot of mods and I'm pleased I didnt run into more issues.
The download links doesn't work, all they do is bring me back to the home page.
Oops, just found out that the small line of text was the download link.
This only brought up my FPS up to 22%, but there's no more lag. I like this mod.

All I know is this didn't occur in my Flatgrass world, or its Nether. Only when I try to enter a specific SP world do I get this continuous crash. (And only when using a specific texture pack.)
Forgive me for anything I'm missing here, new poster, but I'm having some confusion as to the multi-core functionality of OptiFine.
I've been doing several tests recently to try and max my Minecraft performance while still maintaining a high fidelity level.
While monitoring temps/load etc, I've been noticing that, no matter what, Minecraft will not use a second core. It will readily max out one of the two cores I assign the game, but it will pretty much never touch the second core. This is universal throughout the default/smooth/multi-core settings.
I've seen this activity in both "OptiFine_1.5.1_HD_U_A8" (for use with shaders) and the recent "OptiFine_1.5.1_HD_U_C4". Oh, and I'm currently using Java version 7, update 21.
Core specs:
CPU: FX-6200 (six-core, avg. 3.8Ghz per core)
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 (OC, Ghz edition)
RAM: 16GB 1800Mhz (10-11-10-30)
Minecraft running entirely off a 1GB RAMdrive
Boot drive is a SSD DXdiag
Sorry for the long post, I just want to provide as much info as possible to avoid much back and forth.
Thank you anyone and everyone who can help!
Edit: I'll be AFK for a bit, also a reason for the long post.

Ah, got it. Good to know.
Although, I guess I forgot to mention that I assigned the different java processes to different cores.
I assigned the Minecraft client (Java.exe) to cores 4 and 5, and the dedicated Minecraft server (Javaw.exe) to cores 2 and 3. This left me cores 0 and 1 for normal tasks.
While I was observing load, core 5 was almost always at 100%, whereas core 4 was hardly touched. Furthermore, I suffered no tangible performance decrease when changing the affinity from 2 cores, to 1.
Considering I can't find a solid post about what I'm experiencing, I'm beginning to think it's my computer, but what about it would cause it to act this way...
Will the crashing Issue also be resolved with Feed The Beast Modpacks i installed it correctly but it just keeps crashing as soon as i log in to my single player worlds or a server
sp614x is there any chance that you could make it so the default CTM rules and textures are only used if the default pack is being used? I've had some problems with them clashing with my own rules for the same textures which are arranged differently. I haven't tested it but suspect they might look strange if CTM is selected and a pack doesn't contain CTM files of it's own also.
This is already so, just checked it. The default CTM rules are only active with the default texture pack.
I have a question regarding the connected textures feature. Could this be adapted to have textures be modfied depending on the adjacent blocks?
Say, on a clif of dirt with grass as the top block, make the sides of the dirt be grassy all the way down, without having the side of every dirt block in game be grassy?
Hey, sp614x. I don't know if you already did this, so I'm sorry for bothering you if you did...
I was hoping you could tweak one of the numbers in your EntityRenderer dealing with rendering falling snow from .15F to .2F. It would normally be on line 1492, which is the only line that normally calls getTemperatureAtHeight in the class. A few lines before it, getFloatTemperature is called, if that helps.
Biomes usually never return anything between .1F and .2F, so people won't see a difference normally, but I change the returned value with my mod, so there are times when the audio and visual don't match up under normal code. (I've edited it myself, but a lot of people like to use Optifine with it, and using my version of the file with your mod makes ice and water invisible.)
Again, I'm sorry for bothering you if you've already done that.

Think this is the bug that is being fixed in C7.
Check out my Let's Play Series:
Chunk Loading: Multi-Core usually loads the second core about 70-80%. The third core is used for the integrated server and should also get some load (20%).

This is already so, just checked it. The default CTM rules are only active with the default texture pack.
Update your CCC etc. I now am seeing the Ender pouch since updating.
The Light willl never be compatible with Forge.
Ultra has more built-in optimizations and more options to increase FPS.
Say, on a clif of dirt with grass as the top block, make the sides of the dirt be grassy all the way down, without having the side of every dirt block in game be grassy?
IE: multiple textures per block type?
CTM appears to be broken with C7 preview and Forge #666.
