I will be eternally grateful :smile.gif:. I want to make a 1:1 model of the twin towers for 9/11 but the block view is only 200 blocks high so you can't see the whole building :sad.gif:
This mod only increases the draw distance horizontally not the height.
Nope, that is not true. I have used the double mod and the height view limit has increased to 550 from 220 before the ground turns blue. Minecrak did some testing with it. The new cubic chunks is no longer compatible so it'd be great if someone can get it working.
NOTE: This version is only for compatibility with the water shader mod. If you arent using the water shader mod just use the other version on this thread uploaded by dbauth.
ENJOY!!!
Tried installing this but it resulted in a black screen. The water shader mod worked by itself w/ modloader, but putting this file in broke it for me. Yes, I deleted meta-inf. Thank you for any help :biggrin.gif:

Seeing as the OP hasn't been updated since beta 1.6.6, the answer is likely "No." You're going to have to scan through the last few pages to see if someone else has posted an updated version. I believe that latest that's been done was for beta 1.7.3

Actually I'm back I updated the mod, I just took a break from minecraft for 1.7.3 because the only thing that was added was pistons.
Enjoy the update! I changed the fog depth in this version, it's a lot better now :smile.gif:

Welcome back! There was an NPC town just out of sight from where I have been building that I hadn't seen yet. With the Double-view installed, I could see it plain as day. Thanks!
@cferrill1 I seem to remember an older mod you released ( I think it was you anyway) where an option screen was available and you could adjust view/fog distance aswel as cloud settings etc.. not to mention it was texture pack independent, so you could use a different texture pack and still get the 'Minecraft Enhanced' clouds etc...
I can't find that other thread.. but it was nicer being able to get a little more fine tuned control on view distance that is a good balance or just cranking it right up without having to change installed mod for triple view etc.
Yah I'm planning on releaseing the full mod with all the options again, I just did this for people that didn't want to deal with installing mod options API I think I'm going to include better stars with the lite verison as well.
@ cferrill1 - ya Water Shader/MAtmos/MCE/mipmap make my minecraft look and sound amazing. Omg yes i want stars as well thats all i need to complete my environment
heres the iw.class i use (it might just be the normal one) but hey it works for running MCE and Water Shader iw.class
The iw.class changes the fog distance, that is all it does, but you have to change that for the increased view, there is only one line of code changed in mine, that would make the far distance work with the water shader
all you need to do is change the "farDistancePlane" to 512 for it to push the fog back, the fog depth is optional and it would appear as some people don't like that part of it anyway so it would be super easy to fix but I would need the source code for the water shaders Iw.class could probably fix it by decompiling it but that's kinda pain.
I sent the author a message to try to get the source for the Iw.class so I can fix it and make the full MCE compatible with it.

If we arrange kindness on a number line, where the center is neutral, the positive numbers are being generous, and the negative numbers are being greedy and cruel...
Waiting 5 seconds, without having to do anything whatsoever, in order to magically give money to someone who needs it, is like .5
What bothers me is that there are people who get angry about being expected to be a .5 on the kindness scale. If they find that unreasonable and actually believe you're being mean, how must they react to a homeless person begging for money? Proportionately, they must just dropkick the poor sucker and steal all his money for being so greedy.
Anyway, so once Bukkit for 1.8 is released, we'll be able to put this on servers, right?

I must be an idiot but how do I get this to work with my 1.8.1 server? Do I put the class files in the minecraft_server.jar?? I did that and it wouldn't start up.
edit:
Ohh, so it is currently not working for servers?
Does anyone know if this or any other view distance mod for 1.8 change the view distance underground?
I have an underground base near the bottom of the map and I cant see across even small rooms because of the depth based fog in 1.8.
Thanks

I stand corrected. Welcome back from your break. :smile.gif:
