So I had some spare time the other day, not enough to accomplish anything big, so I threw together a quick video showing how to make a 2x4 moving wall with minimal redstone. It goes from showing the bare pistons using a lever to a really quick pressure plate addon. It was more of a way to show how compact you could keep the wiring for sync-ed pistons. I'm going to do some more "compact" piston system videos to show some redstone methods that work well and can be expanded. specifically with side-by-side and over-and-under setups since people seem to have problems with them de-syncing.
Hey so i just followed the video on this thread to install the mod loader and the piston mod.The problem im encountering is that i can make both pistons, but when i try to take the finished item out of the crafting table it kind of resets and stays in the finished product part of the crafting table. So was hopeing someone on here could help out with this problem. thanks

Are you trying this on a multiplayer server? If so, that's why you cannot craft them.
any insight on if this mod would play nice with mine (link in sig) and how launching would act? the way i make it work is that i recursively check blocks around it (with a directional bias downward) until it hits a block that can support it, if nothing can support it it falls...would your mod make blocks like stone launch with my mod?

Is that your video? Why didnt you go with the stacked sticky piston design to pick up the fence instead of pushing the sand upward? My sound isn't working so I'm not sure if you mentioned it, just saw your stacked sticky piston thing and thought id see it used in there, was thinking i missed something...
My best guess is that the conflict is due to blocks sharing the same ID's. Is there a way to resolve these conflicts by myself? If not could you update your mod to change the ID's to high 200's or mid 100's? (There are huge empty arrays from 228 to 239 and from 153 to 185).
ive been trying to put the piston mod on my mac but the video that shows u how to put it on is different to what i downloaded. it makes me really frustrated could u show me how to install it on mac
Word of the wise, dont put a piston underneath a chest, pointing up, and starting it up... you WILL crash.... i learned the hard way, i guess that minecraft doesnt like splitting items up,

I have no expertise in all this, but from what I can understand at least part of the problem is an ID conflict. Unfortunately, the method provided in the post to change IDs doesn't seem to work. If I try to save it as "[root Minecraft folder]/mods/pistondv.txt" as suggested (and yes, I changed the ["root minecraft folder]" part to .minecraft) then it says that it's an invalid file name. However, simply saving it as pistondv doesn't change anything.

this is saying you're using floodgate control in the slot of the piston id. Look at the original post and find the thing about compatibility.
You should make it with Pistons that extend by two blocks instead of one. :smile.gif:
Can pistons push other pistons? That would have roughly the same effect.
Edit: It seems like it should be possible, so long as you make sure that the second one extends after it has already been pushed (extended pistons can't be pushed.)
Edit2: I managed to get it to extend correctly, but it won't retract correctly without additional wiring since it has to happen in reverse order on the way back.
Are you trying this on a multiplayer server? If so, that's why you cannot craft them.

Is that your video? Why didnt you go with the stacked sticky piston design to pick up the fence instead of pushing the sand upward? My sound isn't working so I'm not sure if you mentioned it, just saw your stacked sticky piston thing and thought id see it used in there, was thinking i missed something...

My best guess is that the conflict is due to blocks sharing the same ID's. Is there a way to resolve these conflicts by myself? If not could you update your mod to change the ID's to high 200's or mid 100's? (There are huge empty arrays from 228 to 239 and from 153 to 185).
