I've been planning on revisiting my all time favorite mod Millenaire and was wondering which mods would enhance the gameplay along with Millenaire? I've already added Tinker's Construct and Natura and I'm interested in your tips on which 1.7.10 mods to add.
Kinniken has said that making it open source is the last thing he want's to do.
Gillian, who is/was the current/last developer, said he don't like lite idea to make it open source and he wasn't interested in spending his time managing a team instead of coding.
So if some can gather a small team of developers and manage to get Kinniken to green light a new project to rewrite Millenaire you will have my full support whatever that is worth. I estimate that the work just to get up and running on 1.11.2 is like 500+ hours maybe a lot more.
Well it is his mod so he can say/think/do whatever he feels like ofc.
But I think his reason is/was mostly that he was afraid the mod might be changed in a way that deviate a lot from the original theme/mood/idea/...
If you read the forum at millenaire.org you will notice that some players, like me, love the pve, trade, building, discover and questing part, and there are others that only talk about pvp, raids, fighting. And I think that is exactly what Kinniken wanted to avoid. He wanted a balance.
i miss this mod. i started playing in 1.2.3 or .4 and have gotten a lot of mileage out of this mod. one of my favorite versions was actually very buggy. villages would spawn in mystcraft dimensions. nothing worked right but it was really interesting. my best worst spawn, there was the giant hall at spawn and it trapped me in a buildcraft oil spout. i drowned. haha. this is all old issues. ya know, good times. my favorite mod pack with this mod is AMCO, or Args minecraft overhaul. that was awesome.
isn't there a way to post the project LIKE an open source thing on github but allow the author control over what goes on? i am sure i have seen something like this. that way things could be updated and quality can be maintained. at the very least i know there are a bunch of different of different liscenses'. not all are fully open or closed.
could there be a way to require PvP or war forks of this mod to go by a different name so as not to be associated with the Millenaire name? i would never use it but i am all for player freedom.
anyhow, i am in support of anything related to this mod. it adds so much to the game and is better than other npc mods (my opinion).
The legendary mod has returned! Let everyone and their family know. Men, tonight we feast!
We shall feast like the dwarves of Moria. Roaring fires, red meat off the bone! Even the fabled dwarven tonic, so we can see in the dark!
Edit: Bug report. When teleporting near this mod's villages and going in to sell, got a bunch of spammed "I'll be right there" messages, and they won't run over to buy stuff from me. Needs a reload to work. Happens with VoxelMap.
Edit2: What is the purpose of what the pandit/priest says to you during Knowledge and Rituals? The wiki says I'll need it later on after all quests are finished.
Edit3: We should be able to give peasants better shovels so they can work faster/longer.
