This is going to look epic when combined with the "last days" texture pack. they'll look like other survivers who have built a village. Just would need to reskin them, to fit in with the "last days" theme. But epic mod aswell i've been wanting a mod like this for a bloody long time!
this is gonna make me sound like some grouchy old man but...
The damn lumberjacks wont stay off my lawn!
I flattened out a chunk of land, and they began using it for their stupid sapling plantaions. I put a fence around my entire plot, but it didnt stop them. Instead, they just somehow clip through my door without ever opening it, and then they start planting **** again.
I always kill them when they get inside, but they just come back, over and over and over.

That looks like something with Modloader to me. Not sure, though, my Java is a bit rusty.
I just tried using the village wand and it worked fine for me. The space wasn't even entirely flat. Are you guys using it above sea level (layer 65, I think)? I can't recall if it's still the case, but at one point Villages didn't spawn below that layer.

I recommend not playing on your main world because they sometimes destroy your house or do stuff like this. I don't think you really can stop them.

If I recall correctly, sea level is layer 64. I've actually never had a problem with the wand, but it didn't work when I tried it at level 60.
1. If I clone a whole village in MCEdit and move it to an island, will the people continue to function? When I say whole village I mean a fresh village.
2. Is there a way to change the town names, or is it too involved?
3. Does anyone have a key/explanation of the text-based building plans?
Hey Kinniken, you should package some custom buildings together for us to download (if you're not too busy). I say this because your structures are outstanding! If you had a few different packages of building plans we could pick and choose some of your great innovative work.

Holy frick. My ModLoader gave me an entire .txt on something, after the crash. Sum' like this:

Its not my main world, Its a world I made just for this mod.
I just need a way to keep them away from my door. their code for dealing with doors is buggy. They cant get through my fence at all.
... So what do I do about it? I can't even get to the login screen, now.
Okay, I compared your millenaire.log with mine, and it looks like it gets borked when trying to read the compressed file in the mods folder. Try redownloading both Millenaire and Modloader, if you haven't already. One of those may just not have downloaded correctly. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.

I am not sure how to help then. Maybe surround the place with fences, then brake them when you want to get in?
And I read your post about religion on Nerd Brains. I completely agree. I also think religion is the cancer killing the world.
I may aswell post this on every god damn page. I have requested to Kinniken that he put this on the OP, I hope he does soon. Here we go again.

I pray this is enough of an attention getter for some of the idiots in this thread.
Here is a little Q&A that I have written for your problems.
Q: Help! My game freezes when I use trade!
A: Start from a fresh .jar and install ML, The latest version of TooManyItems, Millenaire (Latest) and then your other mods.
Q: It says I don't have space for them to build, or they don't have the materials when they do!
A: Restart minecraft to fix part 1. Just hit 'e' to go to your inventory, click off the game and do something else for a while. They will most likely start building.
Q: Black screen on start up.
A: Make sure you have deleted META-INF from your minecraft.jar. If this doesn't work, make sure you installed the mod right with the latest version of Mod Loader.
Q: They are destroying me house! Help!
They will tear down things made of wood, wooden planks and cobblestone. Do not use this mod on your main world.
Q: It says that it loaded correctly but I can't find a village.
A: Press 'v' and it will tell you if there are any villages within 2km. If there are none, give it a minute to make a few and search for them. If that still doesn't work start a new world with the seed 'b'. If there still isn't a village, make sure you installed it correctly.
Q: I can't read french!
A: Don't be stupid. Either translate it with google translate (http://translate.google.com/?hl=en&tab=wT#fr|en|) or use some common sense and think. If it says 'Hutt de xxxx" it means house, 'hut' = another word for house in enlish, of, 'de' = of, xxx. xxx will be the name of the people living in said house.
BACK UP YOUR SAVES BEFORE INSTALLING, AS YOU SHOULD DO WITH ALL MODS.
Forgive me, I'm not trying to spam with this post, but it is very helpful and many people will not see it and post things that have already been solved.
Some other people have also posted things that are helpful:

FINALLY! For those who are still having trouble with the "no space" AFTER reseting minecraft, here's what worked for me:
Go to .minecraft\millenaire\buildingplans\core
With minecraft CLOSED! Open the respective building .txt (in my case was the "cattlefarm_A.txt")
Search for the "max=*" part and simply change the number! (if 1 change to anything but 1)
Save the changes to the .txt file
Open minecraft
Enjoy!
This change in the txt forces the game to reset the counting of the building so if there is none it will REmake the building plan... so if there is acctually land avaliable it will build... now that's what worked for ME!
Just so ppl don't say anything here's what i did (WITH NO SUCSESS) BEFORE changing the .txt file:
*Restarted Minecraft
*Went to bed
*Restarted Minecraft and imediately went to bed
*Went outside the village and back
*Went outside the village, restarted Minecraft and went back
*Died
*Went to Nether and back
*Went to Nether, restarted minecraft and went back
*Went to Nether and died there to respawn back on village
*REINSTALLED minecraft and added ONLY Millenaire mod!
*After reinstalling tried to go out and back into the village, died, went to nether...
Anyway... i think it's a bug worth looking after if there is time...
PS: well since 0.3.5 is out... it should fix this anyway... haven't tested though!

My Minecraft crashes! boohoo!
Please update your minecraft, modloader, and millenaire to the latest versions. or.... shutup :smile.gif:
I can't find a village in a new map!
First create a new world with 'b' as the seed and check this world for a village. You should immediately see a message "Millenaire 0.3.4 loaded" or something to that nature. This means that the maps first village has been seeded. Hit 'v' to home in on the nearest village.
If you don't get this message in this world reinstall mod
I can't find a village in my favorite/old map!
Don't panic. It took me an hour to find my first village lol. First follow the above steps for "cant find a village in a new map". Make sure its working. If your favorite world was like mine, you've been everywhere. Villages can only popup in unexplored areas .
Pick a direction and travel in a straight line and you should find one. If you are unsure where you have been, download this map maker: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1022&t=165779
"Millenaire 0.3.4 loaded" or something to that nature will appear if you get close to your FIRST village spawn of your existing map. This is very usfull so you don't have to keep hitting v until you see this.
Why is there "pas d'espace" (no room) for my buildings?
Why can I spawn a village here with my wand?
Same answer. This was easy for me to figure out. First, They need mostly flat areas. They can do a bit of leveling to accommodate larger buildings. Second, the women who are builders carry shovels not pickaxes This means if you have a perfect patch of stone to build on...too bad. Lay down some dirt.
If you change something to make more room. Save and restart minecraft and/or wait for a new day. This should help them "reset" so to speak.
I going to assume that your just annoyed and not stupid. There is evidence of an english setting in the game somewhere but nvmd... This will help: Go to the Millenaire/building maps/core/ and edit the text files so that after "french:" it has the english name instead. I would back this stuff up first btw
hey they are trying to build an kennel and there is no space. I layed down so much flat grass nothing else like stone, ect. I waited on the inventory screen for about a day. Also, the mod is correctly installed to so nothing there.....I used MCEdit to make even more flat ground, and now i JUST DONT KNOW!!!! Please help me and my struugle to help this poor village. I know there is probably no other way but i have been dealing with this for way too long and I am Just sick of it. And i bet you are sick of answering noob questions, but I hoped this would be a bit more challenging because I could not find any way around it, and i read all of your other answeres to any other questions I could find, and I really tried, but no success. : (

It may be a problem with the AI and determining how much space is required. I am not a programmer, so you would have to ask Kinniken about that. Contrary to popular belief, I have no part in making this mod. I'm only hanging around the thread trying to help people with the minor problems they are having.
Also, is this the kennel from Werzieq's custom pack or is there a kennel they build normally? Also any picture would be very helpful, like one of the signs in the city hall and of the area they would build it.
Minecraft crashes when I to trade. Anyone else having this problem?
You might want to try reading the posts above you. Specifically, the one with huge red text.
I made it like that so that it would stand out, be easy to see, ya' know? I can't see how some people just miss it. Red text is typically used for support sections too, people should pay attention when they see it.
I will possibly make my last retarded appearance, here. ..
How do I sell stuff? I'm literally going mad over here, trying to shift-click / ctrl-click the entire stack of wood I have, but can't figure out how to make the guy ( Woman, actually ) buy it. Ye, I'm trading her, but what do I do? I probably failed with the shift / ctrl click, tho.
After right clicking the woman and opening the trade interface, click the resource you want to sell beneath the "We buy:" text.
Click on the items in the upper part, under "We Buy", not on the actual item in your inventory. Buying from them will be disabled until you have currency in inventory and the item is in stock. Selling to them will be disabled for items you are not carrying. They don't have to be in hand but you have to have them in inventory. Click on the upper portion to buy and sell. Mouse over a grayed-out item to see why you cannot buy or sell it. If you have any mods that edit the inventory window, you may encounter an issue with this. TooManyItems, the LATEST version, works fine.
