Figures. I don't really use tech mods so I wouldn't have anything with steam. O well not the end of the world. Guess this means it's time to stop messing around so I can go make myself stupidly over powered and still get destroyed by The King from Ore Spawn
Welp I figured it out. Turns out the village inventory space was totally full because someone I won't name decided to sell the villagers a butt tone of stone to make money. Oops. I went into creative mode, destroyed a couple locked chests, then replaced them with new empty locked chest. And now my my villagers can buy stuff again. WOO-HOO! Figures it was something stupid though *sigh*
Leave it to me to find something weird. Then come back with something new
I bought the Kai ie for myself and gathered all the materials, but it keeps saying I don't have enough space and can't figure out why. I went into MC Edit and leveled the ground around the village, but it didn't help. I took a few screen shots to see if someone else has an idea where I could need more space. http://imgur.com/a/DtZOx
Yes, I know it looks horrible. I was planning on figuring out where the build would go, then reverting to an unedited save and actually smoothing out the area nicely.
They don't like steep stuff, they don't like lava and the don't like water.
They also might object to any block they consider "part of building", e.g.
- player placed forges, chests, walls, roads, houses etc.
They might hate those red-wood trees if they are to close to the village.
Steep stuff includes pits it they are too deep.
So I suggest you go to the town center and check the village map, anything black, blue, orange or yellow = stuff that you have to remove/level/fill in etc.
I will take another peek at your pictures and see if I see something else.
Edit: Not sure what that black stone is, but it might be worth trying to cover it with dirt.
You have loads of lakes all over, they are a problem!
I see something that looks like black grass or black flowers not sure what that is, and not sure if they are a problem.
I see a farm and a house that is not made by the villagers? if yes they are problem
edit 2 : stuff build by player on plots bought from the village = not a problem.
Couldn't find anything with Googlefu, though I swore I'd run across this before and found a solution.
Anywho, I can't get norman cow farms to produce tripes, or pig farms to produce boudin in my player-owned town. I tried to give them lots of raw porkchops/beef to exhaust their other stockpiling goals, tried removing the oven tag for tripes, and tried switching the input material to their cooked versions in the genericcrafting config. Nothing works.
Any ideas?
Edit:
Nevermind. Apparently I should have just searched the forum for my prior posts. I'd addressed this back in 2013, and it apparently has NEVER been fixed. How are you all getting your tripes and boudin short of from the markets?
Edit of Edit:
So, has anyone ever tried adding the goTrain goal? Does it cause issues?
Has anyone added the goPray goal? I seem to remember them praying without config tweaks back when I used to play, but I don't see it in the goals list on the current version. I'm tempted to add it, since all the villagers still have it listed as a goal.
Not so long ago (this summer) I think I had some tripes and boudin in my backpack, not sure though if I bought them at the market or if they were crafted by the villagers. 6.0.0. is buggy in many ways sadly.
But I do know that many of the "goDoStuff" goals was disabled in some version before 6.0.0, they were causing a lot of lag and crashes if I remember correctly. Someone asked for the goPatrol goal a few months ago, same story.
Lets see what the update (that is still in progress) can solve. I know he is working on a better path finding merging Millenaires with Minecrafts/Forges version. That might make these goals useful again.
I haven't noticed any increase in lag by adding back in the boudin and tripes goals, though I haven't played with patrolling, praying or anything else that might be missing. And, they're making boudin and tripes again, up to the limits I set. Worth it, I think. Unlike patrolling, the only lag involved is when they're making it, which you could always reduce by lowering the crafting time I suppose. Unlike patrolling, there isn't any pathfinding involved since it's already at their house.
I also find flattening the village greatly reduces pathfinding lag, though spacing buildings so they don't have to go around them to reach goal destinations probably also would help.
They definitely aren't making it without those goals added to the villagers though.
First question is, who is using the training goal? I see it, but guards don't have it listed. So I'm wondering if it's used in another culture whose files I haven't perused yet.
Second, is anyone else not getting tripes or boudin in villages with upgraded cattle and pig farms? I haven't gotten ANY in my controlled village, and I was even periodically checking villagers' homes to see if they were being taken as fast as they were made.
I looked at the files for male and female cattle and pig farmers, and while the females have the collectGood=boudin and collectGood=tripes goals, respectively, they don't have the goal=makeBoudin and goal=makeTripes. So, I added these goals and now they're churning out boudin and tripes up to the quantity I selected (64, because I deserve big stacks and no waiting hehe).
I know it's listed that when slaughtering a cow villagers have a 50% chance of getting tripes, but both my cattle farms have amassed about two stacks of raw beef and 1 stack of cooked beef. So, I'm not sure if this isn't working or if I just have horrendous luck. Can anyone else confirm this?
That's the original post I'd made back in 2013 when I actually understood how millenaire worked. I just listened to myself to get it working again this time around!
Basically, you just need to add those goals back into the goals lists of cattlefarmerfemale and pigherdf, then if you want to change the crafting parameters and max number present in the building do so in applicable files under genericcrafting.

So, do you add goal=makeTripes to both aswell as goal=makeBoudin ? I just want to make sure so I don't accidentaly break the game.

I don't know if this is a glitch or not, but did you ever know that you can take things from the furnaces in villages? I'm literally living off of a Japanese fishery by stealing the cooked fish.
i don't think it's a glitch. i've been doing that for atleast a year. if it was a glitch they would have fixed it by now.
Well I think I accidently made that glitch. The Fisherman just keeps fishing now. He stopped cooking the fish. He has over 7 stacks of raw fish in the chest.
Yes, we all want an 1.10.2 version and later an 1.11.x version etc.
But rewriting Millenaire 1.7.10 into 1.8.9 is the very important first step. Its a HUGE step where a lot of stuff has to be rewritten and changed.
Once there is a 1.8.9 version its much easier to port that to 1.10.2 and future versions. It might even be possible to have Millenaire up to date for many different MC versions at the same time. Other mods can.

Thanks again for all your help with this

ok, nice
lag generators = patrol and pray (and bandits) if I recall correctly (mostly due to bad integration with Forge they say)
How did you add the goals for that food stuff if I may ask?

How to get easy money.
Step 1. Find a Japanese village with a rice paddy.
Step 2. Break the rice even if it hasn't grown fully.
Step 3. Sell the rice back and wait for them to re-plant the rice.
Step 4. Rinse, repeat, profit.
So, do you add goal=makeTripes to both aswell as goal=makeBoudin ? I just want to make sure so I don't accidentaly break the game.

soooo is anyone going to revive this? this is one of my fav mods...
Hey come look at my gallery of unfinished projects!

for some updated info
okay.
still feel like 1.8 is undershooting tho. we have like 1.11 in less than a week

Ugh, when are we getting 1.10? I need that...
