Swampland, plains, extreme hills, desert, taiga (sp?), ocean - although ocean doesn't spawn much :-)
There is your problem, just make a bed and go to a biome that spawns villages and find a village and reset your spawn point so your spawn point is right next to it
This is crap. Not the mod, the installer. it takes ALL my memory and it doesnt even do anything. Learn how to make an installer. BTW im using a mac.
Indeed, maybe you could try manually installing or try the YogBox? The YogBox's Millenaire is a bit out of date but is better than nothing, plus you can set the YogBox to only installing Millenaire anyways.
There is your problem, just make a bed and go to a biome that spawns villages and find a village and reset your spawn point so your spawn point is right next to it
Err, I think you missed the point. Swampland, plains, desert and taiga all used to spawn villages, now if anything one is more likely to get lone buildings. That is what we were originally talking about. The original discussion was how the change in weighting within Millenaire has made it that villages spawn less often.
Unless you are trying to tell me that those biomes don't spawn villages...
This may or may not have to do with my earlier post about the stuck woman that kept teleporting when selling me stuff. One time, after I left the woman behind to go back home, these errors started appearing.

I don't know what caused them exactly, all I know is that when I looked at the Population sign to see if those people were in the village I was in (they weren't, by the way), I saw that the merchant lady (one who was stuck), had an alert by her name that said 'APPEARS TWICE' or something like that. There are several villages in my world. 3 of them are Hamlets. Some others may or may not be Hamlets. I cannot remember. I really don't want to have to annihilate a town to stop these errors like I did last time, especially since I worked so hard to help improve some of them.

I was unaware swampland and taiga spawned villages...
The whole no villages in taigas and tundras was the initial reasoning behind me working on adding an Inuit culture.
Must be a recent thing, my apologies. Earlier, people (myself included) were having issues ever actually finding a single lone building. So I think Kinn upped the spawn rate a bit a version or three ago. I still don't find lone buildings so much that I would say it is too much, especially since they are an awesome new feature imo and also I find the village rate fine myself, but if you feel that the spawn rates are off to your liking you can always manually change the spawn rates yourself?
Then again, the whole make a bed and change your spawn point thing would still apply.

Hey thanks. I was worried people would find the wall of text replies to be a bother.
In my Mayan village with its center as an observatory there was no grove created but there is a axeman who would cut down the trees and it is causing me not to be able to make certain buildings because when I sell them wood the miner appears and takes it to use in his furnaces.I also checked the wiki bug report and it talks about when you sell wood that you hear a hurting sound. It is someone appearing inside to pick up the wood you just sold.

It was when a lone Mayan farm was built... or the lone Bandit hut next to it.
I saw from some previous threads that other people had mentioned something like this, so sorry if you're already aware of this bug.
When you changed the female model so it'd be unique, all my custom skins I made for them broke. Can you provide atleast an alternate file that makes them use the standard model so people can use regular skins with their villagers?
I've no clue if this has been addressed or mentioned yet... But every Indian village I've spawned yet has a bugged out woodcutter. He simply stands there... Is the grove too far?

check your map of the village to see if a grove was actually made with my village I had to wait a minute to get the order to build it and now he works at it but before then he just stood there.

Fakeedit: Oh yeah, not that I am complaining at all, but How does one change it so that the French isn't so imposing, I keep having to duck to the Wiki to be reminding on which type of Village I am approaching, I remember somewhere someone saying, if you don't like it, translate it yourself...
Are you asking how to make the French words be English?
What I mean is that When pressing V, I get the local of the village it comes up with the "Village écclesiastique"
What I would like to know is, how can I make it come up with something like "Ecclesiastic Village" or for lack of better word, "Religious Village"...
And remove the French Speech that comes up when the NPCs talk to you, the pink writing. 10 of them all at once speaking to you kinda is annoying when the PINK blurs out the Yellow of english.
Nothing against the French and their language, I just can't read it. :tongue.gif:
I have a norman village outside my house with about 20-30 villagers (im lazy enough not to check :/) and a mayan village that just started with like 5 villagers about 500 blocks away. I've been having lag issues the entire time ive been playing this map, and ive nailed it down to millenaire. Its just plain lag, I have a good graphics card, I have more than 5 gb of ram, and its still running soooooo bad. Has anyone else noticed this? I can barely move and do things, im surprised i didnt post here wayyyy earlier. I have version 1.6.3 for minecraft 1.8.1 with no other mods installed.
So, i realize this is kinda a big request, but could the builders in Millenaire be one of the following 2 things?
Magical (place blocks as long as they're on the property, like they used to)
Smart (able to upgrade a fort in 10x less time, because they don't have to run back and forth to place 1 block)
I mean, I get that you made them more realistic in that they have to be at least close to place blocks, but it goes side to side, row by row, whether or not it's efficient. Might I suggest a new building method that:
Builds layer by layer (upwards, not sideways)
Builds in chunks, so that production on that layer starts in a corner of the property, and places needed blocks in 4x4x1 block chunks, then moves to the next chunk on that layer (if it would be easier, 4x4x4 block chunks would be ok too!)
If you still want them to walk on the layer they're working on, might i suggest scaffolding (stairs) to get them up to that layer.
Like I said, a huge request. Basically, I like that you're trying to add realism to the building process, but unless if it is efficiently realistic then i prefer unrealistic. Im sure many others feel the same way. I like to look at them build, not wander around aimlessly adding 1 block at a time.
Edit: Or maybe at least a spiral build design, that way they can get the walls in 1 shot, then focus on the inner parts of the layer after, instead of building right to left and walking (not building) back to right.
Just stumbled across a Lone Woodcutter after a new Mapgen. Watching him for a bit, I thought...
Why can't Village Woodcutters work like him...
He never seems to run out of Saplings, He always seems to be working and going back and forth between his little grove and his shop where he makes his Booze, and well, I have yet to see him glitch...
One minor thing though, slow down Sapling growth for the NPCs, sometimes a Tree will grow while they are standing "on it" and The Lone Woodcutter's Grove is too clumped with Saplings that they grow too quick for him to cut down and produce Stumps (One tall log blocks) over trees...
Fakeedit...
Cider also needs to be stackable or something, The Lonewoodcutter has nearly filled his Solo Chest with just Cider alone and this is watching for less then 10mins...
Second Fakeedit...
Just found a Lost Pyrimid...
Nice looking, love how it appears to be falling apart. Took my time to notice the hidden path. Is that wooden block in there spos to be a crafting table? I mean it looks so out of place there, and disappointed that the third chest had nothing in it...
Third Fakeedit...
Just worldgened again, got an Millenaire village next to a Notch Village.
Anyone wanting to see how the Mod handles that first hand I'll add the Seed...
