Honestly I don't think the classic distinction between beta and release makes much sense for Millénaire. The mod on the whole is fairly mature, but I keep adding new features that might not be. Take the groves, it took me two patches to get them working well.

Second, I am not modder, so I don't know how these things work, but
I would like to suggest Japanese villages in the style of the Heian period (8th-12 century)
It would be a nice touch, and I noticed a lot of people using Japanese designs (castles, temples etc)
I understand if this is too hard/time consuming, but please, consider it/reply :3
It's a good idea, which Joey had also suggested. I'd definitely be interested in Japanese villages. However if they are going to happen I'd like help with the design from people who know Japan well, which is not my case. I'll also need a Japanese translator. In any case I'm not going to start work on it right now, my priority is beefing up the Indian ones, but that doesn't mean design/discussions can't happen.

Sad, but I have an annoying problem with Millénaire 1.0.4/1.0.5. I have several mods in my game:

-ScotTools
-Millenaire 0.9.1
-Mo'Creatures 2.12.2
-MineColony 0.7rc11
-Mystic Ruins v03
-Aether 1.01
-Airship, Pirates, Steamboat (Steamcraft)
-PeacefulPack, BiomeCaves, Bonetorch, BoneSticks
These are compatible with each other, my game was working, but if I delete Millenaire 0.9.1 and install 10.0.5, my game crashes. What happened? Which one of these mods is not compatible with the new Millenaire? Please, help me. My favourite mod is Millenaire, I'd like to play with the newest version.
Are you creating a new world? 0.9.1 villages are not compatible with later updates.
I could give a bit of help, I have always loved the nation and know a lot about that time period.
I would say the main issue with the Japanese idea is the look - most Japanese houses at that time were paper/wood, and wouldn't look right made out of thick blocks. Though temples and castles would be easy.
However, I agree that the idea should be kept alive, but that the Indian villages should most certainly be your priority. I am looking forward to seeing more of them.
Another suggestion:
If you wanted, you could add Islamic indian villages as well, with mosques and turbans etc
Would be quite nice imo :3
For the Japanese: if it helps, it should be possible to add a few custom blocks for their villages. Not many, but if a paper block for instance helps, why not?
For the Muslim villages, it would be Arab ones. India at the time did not have significant Muslim populations.

Little feedback about how i play the Minecraft Millenaire Mod :
1) at the begining of a new map, i travel the world to find a good base village. It mean a village with not too much moutains around (cause having too brown area around the city make it growing slower and it's a little bit boring to destroy a huge moutain to make some free building places)
2) i harvest about 80/100 wood to make some wood stuff (pickaxe, wood plank, etc). I give the wood i don't use to the city hall to start building some little constructions.
3) i find a mountain not too far from the village, i dig a little bit, and there i put 2 chest, a furnace, and i build some cobblestone stuff. (sword, pickaxe...)
4) then i begin to give the city hall whatever they need to developp the village. Mining cobblestone, cutting wood, harvesting wool on sheeps. When the ressource needed is very important (more than 500/600), i dig to explore some caverns or to find some rare ores to make better stuff, collecting cobblestone without thinking about it.
5) With my money i bought some interresting stuff to help me explore the caverns. I buy the better personnal home the village can provide as soon as i have the needed reputation, so i can have a really safe place to live in when i want.
6) when my village is completely build or when i want to see some different place i travel around the world again to find another village of a different type to build.
The suggestion i can make :
For the moment the only building which really need ressources is the city hall. Maybe it should be interresting to have some request from the other city buildings.
By exemple the bakery should asked for sugar cane to make cakes or something like that different of the regular bread they does with the wheat that the city hall receive from the farm.
The forge could propose new items if the player bring rare ores to it.
It should maybe be interresting to have a bank building which allow player to have a chest connection between the different villages. (like magic chest by example)
Once the bank building is constructed, you have 1 or 2 chest in the building that you can fill with your own stuff.
When you build another Bank in another village you have the same chest placement and it contain exactly what you put into in your first village's chest. So you can keep your ressources from one village to another without risking to loose everything when travelling.
Maybe making some difficult high level constructions, which need iron, gold, obsidian or even diamond or nether ore block to be build. It could be the final buildings of each village and a real challenge for the player.
Your mod is really really good like it is, and i think that the better improvement you could do is having different civilizations with differents ressources, differents buildings, like you are planning to do.

Je vais dire les éléments que j'aime moins et ceux à améliorer au lieu de dire en plus ce que j'ai aimé. Car tout ce que je nommerai pas est excellent. Les premiers sont surtout des suggestions mais bon.

Tous les jeux ont un but ultime comme Notch a remarqué. Peut-être que ça ne te dérange pas mais quand le joueur a réussi a upgrade son village au maximum il a un certain sentiment de n'avoir plus rien à faire ou un manque de défi. Alors je crois qu'ajouté
- "Merveille" comme dans AOM (si tu connais) pourrais être un but ultime (immense et/ou beaucoup ressources.
- Le village change de vocation, s’agrandit en ajoutant un autre type de village. Ex: si le village était militaire un village religieux se construis à côté.
- ...
--Système combat--
Des villages pourraient se regrouper en clans/nations avec des traités. Ils pourraient avoir des guerres... Seulement nos alliés/neutres peuvent échangés avec nous. Les ennemis vont nous attaquer lorsqu'on entre dans la vile/territoire. Ce qui me fais penser que et qui me fais penser que des voleurs/bandits pourraient aussi attaquer le village.
- Des bâtiments pourraient être endommagés.
- Ils devront être réparés.
- Les militaires peuvent tuer/blesser les ennemis/joueur.
- Des nouveaux bâtiments style pièges peuvent voir le jour.
Ceci pourrait être motivant pour que le joueur s'implique à protéger son village.
--Catastrophes naturelles--
Des catastrophes naturelles pourraient attaquer le village.(par contre ceci doit être difficile à faire mais bon ça fais du bien de rêver)Des tsunamis, tornades ou des feux. Qui dit feux dit pompiers... etc
--Amélioration systèmes actuels--
La carte. C'est assez mélangeant pour moi de me retrouver dans le village avec la carte. Je crois qu'il faudrait un point spécial qui attire l'attention sur la carte et/ou écrit: you're here. Bref s'orienter va être plus facile.
Conclusion: Je pense que maintenant ton mod a plus besoin de but à long terme et la participation avancé du joueur. Accepte ce feedback comme tu veux, je fais juste dire ce que j'en pense.
If extra blocks were added for the Japanese, I'd suggest it's left until after 1.8, in which they're going to have glass panes, so thin blocks. It should be extraordinarily easy to adopt that into being a thin paper block :smile.gif:
