So you can't make your cows "feel" when a Plastic Bucket is being used at them?
That's not what I said. The problem is that the only way for the code to understand what a plastic bucket is, is if the plastic mod is installed. So people without the plastic mod would not be able to use my mod.

Maybe I'll ask TehKrush. He might make it work.
He'll have the same issue. His code won't know what a 'Tame Cow' is without my mod. He would have to require that my mod was installed.
Not so sure about that. Check Xie's Cooking Mod. In his Sammich recipe, an alternate for his cheese is Nando's, but his mod works fine without Nandonalt's Dairy mod. Maybe you can work around it. Sorry for being so pushy. ;p

I really hope you can find a way for this to work. Thanks for your time and for the mod. I've been having a great time. :happy.gif:

I believe I have, I finally got it to stop throwing exceptions at me when the other mod wasn't present. I'm waiting for Mojang to release the next update (supposedly sometime next week) before I upload any more new stuff though, because it's going to break everything and I'll have to fix it all over again, plus I'm waiting for the wolves.
I personally think too many animals spawn. The outside of my house is flooded with animals every night. And did you know that it takes two hits with a stone sword to kill a chick while it only takes one to kill a chicken?
... did you know that it takes two hits with a stone sword to kill a chick while it only takes one to kill a chicken?
Yes, there will be HP adjustments in the next update so that babies have 1/2 the health of adults, and tamed animals will have 2x health of wild animals.
I really hope you can find a way for this to work.

Till next update, then! ;p
I'm also looking forward to seeing the wolf.:Notch:
Wish: Baby Mo'Animals... I would love to see baby boar, rabbits, lions and such.
(I just read the previous page and saw you responded to this... Still would love to tame a baby horse though)
Great mod, I love my house chick, she is always so happy and bouncy when i come home.
the baby pigs are just adorable.
btw. calfs and lambs make no noise when hit?
(Looks like this was an error in v1.4? and fixed in v1.4.1?)
you said tame animals would have 4x the health of wild. but did you mean babies would have 4x the (half life of adults)? or 4x the adult's health? I wouldnt mind if baby animals were invincible... I lost a whole farm to one lion. LOL

Thank you all Modders. I truly appreciate the work you do.
My suggestions:
Baby animals grow up automatically after two Minecraft days.
Feeding a tamed adult cake will make a baby spawn after ONE day.
Here's my reasoning behind why I made things the way they are, I hope you'll understand:
1. Not everyone wants their babies to grow up, that's why I made it an option with cake.
2. I realize that the 'gestation periods' seem long to some, which is why you can use lightstone dust to speed it up if you really want. You can also just go out and lure home more babies if you don't like waiting :smile.gif:

You should bug DrZhark about the mo' babies thing :wink.gif: Also, all babies do have 'hurt' sounds assigned. For the two you mentioned, check .minecraft/resources/mod/sound for 'calfhurt', the lambs just use any one of the lamb sounds, 'lamb1' or 'lamb2'.

Tame animals will have 2x max HP of wilds and babies will have 1/2 max HP of adults... Here's an example:
Wild cows (Notch's mob) - 10 HP
Wild calves - 5 HP
Tamed cows - 20 HP
Tamed calves - 10 HP
It will be the same for piglets and lambs. Wild chickens are only 4 HP, so wild chicks will be 2 HP, tame chicks 4 HP, and tame chickens 8 HP.
BTW, taming only doubles current HP, it won't max it out, so no taking advantage of un-taming/taming again! Un-taming will halve current HP. I've set a floor so that if a tame baby has 1 HP, un-taming it won't kill it, it will just keep it at 1 HP.
Lastly, I know that lightstone dust is limited and not everyone likes the Nether, so I'm going to let wheat be used for healing 2 HP each (but not speeding up things you have to wait for, like newborns. That's like, arcane magic, you know!?) If a tame animal is at full health, it won't take any more wheat from you.
I'm guessing they are going to make the original animals tame-able and you'll be able to breed them if you like, so those who don't like noisy babies running around won't have to worry about it. And I'll be off the hook! :biggrin.gif:

Yeah, I saw the Yogscast post about it not working. I sent them an email, but I have no idea how many other emails they get, so... I even deleted my bin and started with a clean jar just to check, and the latest version runs fine (for me anyway.) 1.4.1 has been downloaded several thousand times, I'd hope that at least one person would have let me know before now if there was an issue.

Well, they got Mo Creatures and Fairies working OK, which have the same installation process. I'm just curious what 'not working' is - black screen, no sound, no babies spawning, ...? Oh well, I guess.
Added Quintessential Creatures to the OP, thanks :smile.gif:

This is an absolutely awesome mod; but i've spent the entire evening trying to get this to work with mo's creatures, and i'm still failing. It doesn't crash the game, but all the mo's creature-mobs (for some reason) turn human-shaped, even though they keep their texture. i'm sorry if this problem is mentioned somewhere, but i couldn't find anything about it. Even though agressive shark-men running around the water in large groups are pretty amusing at first, it gets kind of annoying after a while and i'd love to get their original shape back. At first i had other mods installed, but i then tried to reinstall the game and install the modloader etc in the exact same order as in the "manual", which works well until i install mo's creatures again, and it's back to square one. i've tried to install creatures first through mod manager and then install baby animals, which didn't work. i then tried to install baby animals first and then install creatures manually, but that didn't work either. How do i install them to get them to work together? :ohmy.gif: Sorry for my horrible english and bad knowledge of the game, i'm really new to it
download AudioMod, BabyAnimals, Mo' Creatures, GuiAPI, and ModLoader all into TFC's Mod Manager and click finish modding. easy. thats it.
