Here's a couple of mods I made for personal use (but foolishly decided to post them up) and they reflect one theme, "I'm too lazy to collect stuff. So i'll just make a mod that let's me make stuff without wasting too much time leaving the comforts of my base." Wait! you might be wondering, "Can't I just use TMI (linked just in case you want to know what TMI is, but who doesn't know TMI? :smile.gif: ) to get all this stuff." Well... Yes, yes you can, but I made this mods with the thought of keeping the essence of not 'cheating' while playing Minecraft. :tongue.gif: Anyway, here are my:
LOGCRAFT Intro
Have you ever wanted to get one of those birch log textures or those pine log textures for your building but up to now you only managed to harvest those old plain log textures? Have you grown tired of looking at those three different textured logs sitting in your inventory and just wish to stack them into one pile (I don't know about you but I have, :tongue.gif:)? Now you can just magically transform those log textures you don't want to the textures you want, as long as you have two of them. Enough talk, on to the pictures! (Has anyone made this mod? If yes, then :double facepalm:)
CRAFTABLE SLIMEBALLS Intro
I believe craftable slimeballs have been done in some other mod with a different recipe but it was just part of a whole mod and I just didn't want to add a whole lot of other stuff just so I could craft slimeballs. (I want to give credit where credit is due, I'm referring to the Equivalent Exchange Mod by x3n0ph0b3. It was his recipe that gave me the idea for this recipe. It's quite an interesting Mod.) So I decided to just make a simple mod that adds a way to get slimeballs without the trouble of searching for all those slimes, because I already underwent the frustration of hollowing out a room at bedrock and still didn't get any slimes to spawn.

They say a picture say a thousand words...
I don't know about that but they're definitely better than typing a thousand words.
Installation:
I'm using windows so I don't have a tutorial for how to install this on other systems. But this is installed the same way all other mods are installed.
1. Open up minecraft.jar (in .minecraft/bin) with WinRAR or 7zip.
2. Drag and drop the ModLoader files along with the files of my mod.
3. Delete the META-INF folder in the jar.
4. Run Minecraft and hope you don't get a black screen.
Mod left in a corner to accumulate dust:
Have you ever gotten tired of strip mining to get the blocks you need? Don't want to destroy the landscape but need the blocks to build your epic base? I present you with...
Block Generators (Update to v1.1)
Requires: Risugami's ModLoader v4 (I cannot guarantee it will work with v5 since i haven't tested it myself)
Changelog:
v1.1 - Decided to change the dirt generator to a clay generator.
- Now dispenses blocks, no need to mine (A very huge THANK YOU to pwned for coding it)
- Added click sound when clicked.
v1.0 - Public release
How it Works: Basically upon clicking the block it dispenses a specific block. Just be sure to wall up the generator or the blocks would go everywhere
How it's crafted:
Such powerful generators don't come cheap.
Clay Generator (Replaced Dirt Generator)
Sand Generator
Cobblestone Generator
Basically, all you have to do is change 1 block to get the specific generator.
Disclaimer: If you have installed a multitude of mods then this has a high chance of conflicting with the mods you have installed. Use this at your own risk. I will not be held responsible if this corrupts your copy of Minecraft or save files. So make sure to backup everything before installing this mod.
Additional Info:
The Generators use the following block IDs:
Cobblestone Generator = 98
Clay Generator = 99
Sand Generator = 100
So if any of the mods you use, uses the same block ID then you are guaranteed to have a black screen.
Make more generators, like a TNT generator, or a obsidian generator. Sand, Dirt and Cobblestone is very easy to find, so theres really no use for the sand, dirt and cobblestone generator.

But this sounds awfully useless. =\ 7 gold bricks for... infinite free dirt/cobble?
I was thinking about the recipe for a while. Previously, what i had in mind was instead of using gold, it would be obsidian and instead of a diamond, it would be a diamond block. But i thought a diamond block would be overkill for the recipe.
The reason i went for 7 gold is that i usually end up not using my gold for anything. They may look good as an armor but they are fairly soft. For tools i prefer to use tons of stone tools than waste my gold, but that's just me.
Maybe I can change the 7 gold to obsidian (if i update), what do you think?

well.. you should make Clay or ice generator.. or some other rare block generator..
dirt, cobble and sand's like.. everywhere dude...

I was thinking about making a clay generator (maybe if i update) since there's still something i want to change in the code. But doesn't ice turn into water (unless with a mod) when you break them?
A rarer block? Like Obsidian? If i do that wouldn't it make the generators a little too overpowered?
If I made a TNT generator with this code, you wouldn't be able to pickup the TNT once it generates. You'd be forced to activate it on the spot and possibly destroying the generator in the process. But if i do find a way that it gives you a drop block/item instead of an actual placed block, wouldn't it be a bit overpowered to be able to make it infinitely?

i dont want to [destroy] my deserts/beaches and i still wand to build ruins with sandstone
This was my line of thinking when i made this generator, except that i wanted to make lots of glass. In fact, it was the sand generator i coded first (despite the higher ID) before implementing the other two.

Why a cobble generator, though? They already exist in-game. That was totally useless.
Yup, I had that in mind when i decided to include a cobblestone generator. The one i included has an advantage though (if you're willing to sacrifice the materials to make it), which are:
1. It's compact (I didn't really think it was a good idea to put this at number 1).
2. There's absolutely no wait time in making the cobblestone as compared to the one you can build, which has a slight delay in creating the cobblestone (I wish I could make a video to show the generator in action).
3. And, it gives you all the cobblestone you mined (as compared to the one you can build where you don't always get the cobblestone).
So in the end, i decided to just include it.
...And that's it for responding to comments.
Again, I really thank you all for the feedback, especially, GoldNCursed's. :biggrin.gif:

i dont think a tnt generate would go very well since it places the block above it....
i think that instead of placing the block it should shoot the block out like a dispenser
This was the original idea but i had trouble coding it. So, for now, I released it the way it is. I'm still trying to understand the codes, maybe when i do, i'll be able to implement this.
I like that you designed these generator blocks with a sense of balance. I would like to request an obsidian generator. Naturally, it should have a more valuable recipe. I was tentatively thinking something like this:
Where the lava was a bucket of lava and the water was a bucket of water and the gold bars were actually gold blocks and the diamond may or may not be a diamond block.
Alternatively the diamond could maybe be one diamond and instead of the gold blocks it requires actual block generators (perhaps one of each or just 3 stone).
I have to put so much time and effort into farming obsidian to get the quantities I want that even something this expensive would be very, very worth it.
Make it dropping blocks over time when activated by redstone, if possible :smile.gif:
Could be useful with Store On Collision mod - you press Teh Red Button and chest is filling by sand!
even though you can find the **** that comes outta these things everywhere, this will make it a WHOLE lot easier to biuld mega projects, and not so mega prjects
Maybe you can add a Netherrack Generator and a Wool Generator. Those would be pretty useful and they aren't too valuable materials. (Wood generator too?)

I don't think so, sorry. But if someone is willing to port it, i wouldn't mind.
Hopefully you can figure out how to make it just dispense like a dispenser, for quicker gathering!

Actually im fairly certain that stone is probably around 80% of the world not dirt....
