(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Note: DO NOT INSTALL THE COREMOD ON SERVERS! It will crash on load.
Aww, are you sure you can't make this behave properly if loaded on the server? What's the point in setting a mob on fire if it isn't actually a walking candle?

For whatever reason, a lot of people have trouble installing Forge/dislike it for one reason or another. Maybe it's because more popular mods use it, so the amount of people who know nothing about mod installation drawn to it increase? I have no clue.
What about making burning arrows make light? If you have a enchanted bow with Flame it lets you shoot fire arrows and if they touch a block, burns the arrow entity.
"Burning" entities shine light. (Arrows fired through lava for example) However, flame enchanted arrows don't technically burn. I'd have to make another simple module to make flame enchanted arrows shine.
EDIT:
1.1.1
- added Light module for Arrows shot with fire enchantment on bow

yea it would be cool to have this feature back. pretty much the only thing I missed from the old version, being able to shoot flaming arrows to light up huge ravines.

overzealous moderators incapable of thinking for themselves are more of a danger to any forum than anyone trying to abuse it.

The only real issue with forge is that it wants to stomp on just about every class file in sight. Forge is just too big.
Mods that are written to work with forge generally will get along with each other just fine. But since forge wants to touch so much, it basically conflicts with almost all non-forge mods -- so, generally, you can either have co-existing non-forge mods, or forge mods, but it's hard to mix both.

Yeah, I agree. Of course, there's very few base-class editing mods nowadays (or at least ones that see any use) besides for Better than Wolves (incompatibility is pretty much a given in this case) and Optifine (For which compatibility with Forge is one of its major draws).
Forge is a bit too big, but a lot of that helps obscure mods or mods with obscure features be compatible with each other. Its size is both a blessing and a curse, IMO. Personally? I'll be glad to see the official Mod API take its place whenever that comes out.
EDIT: That being said, I think that it's pretty awesome that this doesn't edit any base classes anymore, AtomicStryker.
Are there any devs short of FC moaning about Forge? I never heard of that. And if he was serious, he'd rewrite Better Than Wolves to be a FML coremod, so he wouldn't edit any base classes and even get Forge compatibility back.
As for users: If you can't install Forge, you're not worth my attention

It's mostly just people who can't be bothered to re-learn all the hooks and stuff, as far as I know. And I don't really want to get into a conversation about FC/BTW :/
I have bug with Dynamic Lights. When a creeper is about to blow up then lights up, it doesn't stop. The creeper just continuously have light but it goes away when I kill one. How can I fix this?
Unzenith: You mean, it charges but doesnt explode? Uhm ... as of now there is no way to switch the Creeper back off without killing it
Wait there is, restarting the game
I didn't mean like that. I mean the light, when it's about to explode, doesn't stop. When the creeper lights up, it's suppose to be gone when it fails the explosion climax. With this bug, creepers look like they're some kind of holy mob that emits light in the night. lol

He just told you, there is no way to fix that other than killing it, or logging out and back in.

A torch is supposed to emit 14, not 15.
The difference is critical for mob proofing. All it takes is one unprotected creeper spot ...
