My plan failed trying to separate the mods.
So I won't be releasing the update tonight. Gotta find another way to do it...
I figured it out already. Java has a NoClassFoundError try catch. Yay for Java.
Bad news is... I'm still not going to release tonight. I need some time to readjust my plans.
Good news is... I tweaked a lot of the files and there are a lot more bug fixes than I had planned for.
I also renamed Silver to 'Scrap Metal'. Why? Because there are already too many mods that add Silver, and I didn't want to be one of those lame newbs who steals people's glory.
What does this mean for my plans for 'Silver'? Nothing. I was already trying to figure out what to do with Silver (I dislike the idea of adding in even more tools) and turning it into 'Scrap Metal' now allows me to use it for whatever I want! :biggrin.gif: Yay me.
if its going to be scrap metal, possibly add a simple repair function?
i was thinking that once its smelted all you have to do is place an almost broken tool with it (certain arrangements for certain tiers) and it creates a fully repaired tool of it.
for example to repair an iron pick just place scrap next to it, for diamond place 4 in a cross formation and for your metal tools, you need 8 all around and it fully repairs. i dont think you would have to repair for lower then iron.
this seems to make the most sense for scrap metal in my opinion, because like i said before, you arent adding new blocks, your adding new features. im not sure if you have a limited amount of recipes since i never modded but it doesnt add any new items so it should be fine i think.
@IceMcDonald:
I will think about that, thanks. :smile.gif:
@Gamma: Yep, I've thought about it... I will get to it eventually.
Although, for now there is a pic of all the blocks.
Also, I lied! I uploaded all updates.
Versions 1.1 are RELEASED.
All mods are now self-contained. Although, some of them share the same classes.
(This does not mean they are incompatible, not at all. This just means all the Zips have the same copy of a few of the classes to make each mod self-contained).
Installation:
Simply drag and drop the contents from the .zip archive to your minecraft.jar.
If it asks you to overwrite, confirm yes. It does NOT matter what order you install them in.
And you can install just one, or two, or three, doesn't matter.
They are self-contained files. Customize to your hearts content! :biggrin.gif:
Edit: I ALSO RECOMMEND YOU BACKUP YOUR SAVES BEFORE INSTALLING.
I have tested the newest version and I do know it runs. However, with any code, I can never be sure.
I'm hoping there are no problems. But as usual, let me know about any errors!
AND PLEASE, some error reports!?
Edit 2:
I ALMOST FORGOT: YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE NEWEST VERSION (v4) OF MODLOADER. THIS IS NOW REQUIRED.
There are no 'Silver', Bronze, or Gem pickaxes. That's why you can't make them.
I intentionally left them out so they wouldn't take up unnecessary sprite slots or Item IDs. They also would not have added much to the game.
Those items will have other purposes in the future. For now, you can use them to make blocks for displays and structures.
The tools added by Miner's Paradise are: Copper, Mythite, Unobtainium, and Infinium.
P.S. I also forgot to change the Bronze recipe. I meant to change it to Copper + Scrap Metal.
Oh well, it will be in the next update, when there will actually be a use for Bronze. :smile.gif:
Hmm, I just realized.
Why am I making the gem blocks opaque? How boring... They are crystals, they need to be translucent! :biggrin.gif:
Gotta put that into the next update...
I also updated main post to reflect what you can (not) do with the new blocks at the moment, and what items are useless until the next update.
Don't worry folks, Bronze and 'Scrap metal' will become... very useful... in the next update. ;D
I've also got plans for Quartz and the Gems, but those will come later...
I am awestruck. This is amazing. It's a very simple mod (by the standards of say, King's mods) but it works just fine and delivers exactly the type of atmosphere you should want in minecraft. After you've found and constructed infinitum items you don't want to die in lava, let me tell you.
It just adds to the experience and draws you in even more into the world of minecraft. Quartz caves are quite interesting as well, perhaps you should add so that if you craft any item with quartz you have the chance of either losing the item or repairing it, I think that would add a lot and give quartz a use other than decoration.
The gem blocks would be a lot better if they were translucent, but also what I think you should add is a "sparkle" particle effect and if the blocks are in the correct light they'll sparkle (like real gemstones).
Also, if you could look into adding support for SMP, that would be great.
I'm going to add support for these textures in my texture pack... (THANKS, YOU'VE GIVEN ME MORE WORK TO DO >:C)
And I love the sparkle effect idea.
I was actually thinking of doing some particle effects for Unobtainium (and possibly Infinium).
If I get those done, I could add it to the gems as well. :smile.gif:
I think you did an excellent job at making infinium rare. FYI, by the time I got enough infinium for a pick, I had 80+ diamonds, and 30 unobtanium. And of course no mythril because you can't find that underground and currently the only reason it even exists is to be able to harvest unobtanium. Didn't take me too long to find some for a pick - if you wander around enough eventually you'll see some on the sides of a cliff.
I decided... why should I decide what is next?
Why not let you guys decide?
So, I put up a poll. :smile.gif:
I may or may not actually accept the poll results right away, depending on my mood. But it will certainly affect my priorities if I get enough votes.
Vote now while you can! :biggrin.gif:
Don't let the creepers take away your chance to vote, they will blow up the poll in 1 week!
I have also added the ability to change your vote, if you happen to change your mind...
Edit: I've also struck my vote for something that goes 'Boom'. That is what I WAS going to work on next.
But they will all be awesome things, I assure you. ;D
Make quartz instamine if a block of quartz next to it breaks, please... You could make all kinds of awesome things with this technology. If it could be triggered with redstone too that'd be even more awesome...
sorry if this has been said, but whats the block id for mythite? ive searched soo far and i cant find any. im just gonna use cartograph at this point because i have about 10 unobtaniums just waiting around and i want to mine them but i cant...
These mods looks awesome, but I can't get some of them to run.
I reset minecraft to vanilla, instally the newest modloader, then the newest toolutils then the newest moreids. So far it works. Then I install miners paradise and missing blocks. Everything still works. But as soon as I add either quartz or cosmic gems, the game goes black screen after I login and gives this error report:

1. Yes, I have an idea. Your mods are conflicting with the Block IDs (^ the error says 105 is being used by another mod). You can change the block IDs for my mods in their respective settings files. They can go up to 127, or 255 if you install Shockah's ID mod.
2. No, every mod is separate now. You either installed an older version of the minerpack or you also installed cosmic gems.
The thing that goes BOOM is NOT a new TNT/bomb or a nuke. :wink.gif:
It is something completely different. I have a feeling people think it will just be a bomb and that's why they aren't voting for it...
....Either that, or they just like to go WWWWEEEEEEE!!!
Edit: Just a tip: Use your imagination on what you guys think these things are.
I very much doubt anyone will consider any of these things to be 'boring'. ;D
P.S. I need more votes!!! 14, that's it!? Seriously!? You guys make me sad.
If I don't have 100 by tomorrow, I might have to quit modding forever!!!
Edit again: Only joking guys. :wink.gif: But seriously, come on. Don't let the Creepers take away your voting rights!

Well, if an old version is one that was downloaded two days ago, then yeah, I probably have the old version.
Anyways, I've also found some quartz(in a dungeon in fact) so it all works from the miners paradise mod.
And the idea to make mythite only spawn in mountains is brilliant - now I actually have a reason to dig up mountains. :biggrin.gif:
Can you add to the OP or the second or third post the details on finding and using the new minerals? I have a ton of copper and Scrap Metal (which I know is useless), but I found two blocks that had a greenish blob on the surface, and I thought Iron would break it, but it just destroyed the block with no drop. What is it and what do I need to harvest it? Where can I find more?
This type of information would be nice to have (where to find each mineral, what each mineral is mined by, etc) right at the start of the thread.
One thing that would have been nice is if you could make it easier to mine obsidian and make it less durable, since it would fit into minecraft since obsidian is weak rock (which you know).
Maybe you could make the redstone block act as regular redstone, but with the obvius benefit of being a block, you could just start to imagine how usefull it might be.
Make the copper tools slower (between stone and iron or stonespeed) and make them last at least as long as stone tools and it would be great :smile.gif:.
And as a big fan of minetracks (see 2 of my links in my signature) I really like the recipy of the tracks.
1. I can't change the nature of the standard game's blocks or items. I would have to overwrite the game's classes, which would then make my mod less compatible with other mods. I'd rather not do that. (Although, I agree that hard obsidian makes no sense... oh well.)
2. I will look into the redstone stuff. Right now I haven't looked at redstone code at all, so I'm not entirely sure how it works at the moment.
3. Copper tools actually are slower, like you said between stone and iron. They also have durability slightly above stone and less than iron. As reference (I don't remember the numbers exactly), stone's durability is around 120, Copper around 150-175, and iron is something like 250.
And thanks for the compliments. I'm glad people like my mods. :smile.gif:
And fitting everything into the standard game is exactly what I wanted to do. :biggrin.gif:
