Create items in-game. Save and load entire inventories. Create unlimited stacks and tools. And more! Use TMI to test mods, build huge structures, or just feel a little Classic.
Bugfix update 27 May 2011 (totally professional!):
(1.6 changed the way the game handles stacks with quantities below 0 or above the normal max and there were some other issues.)
Unlimited stacks now use positive quantities again. This means they won't stack with picked-up items, but there were too many problems with negative quantities.
Unlimited damage now works with flint and steel as well as armor
Unlimited arrow stacks now work properly because of the above.
No longer crashes when shift-click transferring an unlimited stack into a chest -- this was because of the negative quantity -- but the game will not keep them as unlimited stacks.
Dropping unlimited stacks from the inventory now sets the quantity to 1. This should prevent unstackable items from filling your inventory when you pick them back up.
Can no longer make unlimited map stacks (they were glitched)
Fixed middle mouse button with ConvenientInventory
Updated 26 May 2011. 1.6.4 is here!
Major improvement in crash handling! Most TMI errors will not crash the game and error reports will be saved in files with a chat message notifying you.
Shift-click an item in the sidebar to create an unlimited stack/tool. The unlimited button is gone.
Unlimited stacks now only use negative quantities so they will stack with picked-up items.
Unlimited quantities only refresh when TMI is enabled. (And they are still single-player only).
Removed readme.txt from distribution (the zip file now contains only class files to be placed into minecraft.jar). The first post in this thread will be the documentation for this mod.
Removed CJB compatibility function that is no longer necessary; this will stop some harmless error messages from showing in the console.
If drawing a (mod) item icon would crash (usually because of some weird custom renderer), it will be replaced with the fire graphic.
Instructions
Turn On/Off: Press the "o" key in the inventory screen. Your preference will be remembered separately for single- and multi-player.
Add items: Left-click on items in the right sidebar to add full stacks, or right-click to add one at a time.
Unlimited stacks/tools (single-player only): Shift-left-click on items in the right sidebar to add unlimited stacks OR unlimited-use tools or flint and steel. ModLoader is optional, but makes this feature work better.
Trash (single-player only): Drop an item on the Trash to delete it permanently. Hold down shift while clicking the button, now named Delete All, to delete all items on the current inventory screen (including chests). Hold down shift while dropping an item on the Trash to delete all items of that type on the current inventory screen (including chests).
Save states (single-player only): Several slots are available for you to save your entire inventory and restore it later. (The "x" button next to a saved state will remove it.) This can be used to save your "real" inventory before editing, save a blank inventory to clear out everything you're holding, save a full inventory of materials, share inventories between characters, etc.
Multiplayer: Read this! You need to be a server op. Also, every non-vanilla server works a little differently. By default, TMI uses the command format /give <player> <itemID> <quantity>, which is the one used by the "stock" Minecraft server. Third-party and modded servers have different commands. Find TooManyItems.txt in the same folder as your Minecraft options.txt, your screenshots folder, etc., and change the "give-command" line as needed for your server. Available insertions are: {0} player's username, {1} item ID, {2} quantity, {3} damage.
Colored wool, dye, wood, etc. will be available only if your give command supports item damage. The default server doesn't support it.
Vanilla server command: /give {0} {1} {2}.
Bukkit with the Essentials mod command: /item {1}:{3} {2}
Fast crafting: Right-click on the output square when crafting to craft the maximum possible amount. (Works while the inventory overlay is disabled).
Fast transfer (single-player only): Hold shift while placing an item into a chest, or into your inventory from a chest, to transfer all items of the same type and combine stacks. (ConvenientInventory does this better, and TMI will use its functions if it is installed. Make sure to ONLY install ConvenientInventory.class).
This is one way of manually installing mods (the easiest, I think):
1. Open Finder and go to your home directory. Then go to Library -> Application Support -> minecraft -> bin. You should now be in the "bin" folder with various ".jar" files in it including minecraft.jar.
2. Rename minecraft.jar to minecraft.jar.zip. You keep the .jar and add .zip to the end. There may be a dialog that asks if you're sure, and you need to click "use .zip."
3. Double-click minecraft.jar.zip to unzip it. This will make a folder called minecraft.jar, which will contain lots of .class files and some other things.
4. Inside the minecraft.jar folder, find META-INF and delete it.
5. Download the TooManyItems zip file and unzip it on your desktop or elsewhere.
6. Move all of the files ending in .class that come with TooManyItems into your minecraft.jar folder. Click yes to replace an existing game class.
7. Done! Because the folder is named minecraft.jar the game will use it as-is, and you do not need to re-zip it. Of course you can add other mods to it as well. To go back to an unmodded Minecraft, delete the folder named minecraft.jar and unzip minecraft.jar.zip again for a fresh copy (remember to delete META-INF again if you are installing more mods).
Install - Other
If you are using a mod manager, see its instructions. I cannot give help with all of them.
I don't have Linux instructions prepared right now, but you could do something similar to the Mac OS X instructions above, just with the different Minecraft.jar for linux.
Troubleshooting
Crashes show an error report on a purple and white screen, and you can copy and paste the report into a post. With the latest version of TMI, most errors that would have crashed should instead show a chat message that says a report has been saved to a file in your minecraft folder, and you can copy and paste from that file into a post.
Black screens are caused primarily by (a) not deleting META-INF from your minecraft.jar, (:Notch: mod conflicts, (c) wrong versions of mods, and (d) improperly installing mods. Please check these things and, if necessary, start fresh from a new minecraft.jar as an old installation problem may still be causing errors. To get error information from a black screen you must run Minecraft from the command line, described in this post.
"TMI doesn't show up": Press the "o" key in your inventory screen to turn TMI on and off.
"Items don't show up on Bukkit": This is a known bug and I'm working on it. Closing your inventory and opening it again generally makes them show up.
Notes: TMI's code does not run until you open your inventory. Problems creating games are something else. TMI does not change any crafting recipes. TMI does not change the way that items function. You are not forced to use fast crafting: just left click like normal instead of right clicking. Yes, TMI does work in multiplayer, but read the instructions. No, it is not a server mod. Finally, the number of pages of items depends on your Minecraft window size, so, you are not missing items because it doesn't have the same pages as in the screenshot.
Uninstalling: If you manually installed a mod, the only way to uninstall is to either restore your backup copy of minecraft.jar (you did make a backup, right?) or delete minecraft.jar and run the game launcher so it downloads a new minecraft.jar. If you used a mod manager, refer to its instructions.
Compatibility
TMI is compatible with a wide range of mods. Items added by mods will show up automatically. Items are sorted by their ID value, so you may need to look around for them a bit.
Zombe's Mod Pack: Install Zombe's first, then install TMI over it, overwriting a class file. Do not enable Zombe's craft mod in the config file.
ConvenientInventory: Install only ConvenientInventory.class. Or, if you have already installed both of its classes, install TMI on top of it to overwrite the other one.
The same thing's happening to me. I am using this alongside several other mods, one being SDK guns, and I can open the GUI for most things, but when I try to open my inventory it crashes.
Okay, not to be mean or rude or anything, but all of you asking "when will it update need to shut up. Seriously? It'll come when it comes. He got this thing updated within a day of 1.6.4, so all of you can just take a step back and play legit for a few hours. Or hell, go browse some other games. C'mon, boys and girls, lets all be nice and patient and let the modder do their work in peace.
And to the modder himself, fantastic work, LOVE TMI.
i know you and probably everyone else is getting annoyed talking about this but i just got the new beta and discovered the same thing everyone else has… of course. i was just wondering if he has said anything about when he thinks he will have it ready? no rush, just wondered if hes filled anyone in on how far along he is on the mod updating. sorry for the repetitive question, but i dont get on here that often and am new to minecraft.
im getting REALLY annoyed, half the people on this f*** site cant read english, and dont understand the difference between 1.6.4 and 1.6.5, i think he should just fix it, upload it on a private link, and only allow those who DIDN'T COMPLAIN THE S*** OUTA THIS THREAD to dl it.

You know, you need to learn how to be patient.
He probably has a life or other predisposition. You're not even being remotely helpful. All you have done is make yourself look stupid. If you want it to work so badly, why don't you update it? What's that? You can't? Okay then, you just need to wait.

You're not helping either. Just because they're being hostile doesn't mean you have to go insane. Just because they're impatient, doesn't mean they're not entitled to this mod.
I don't know DarkDvr, why is it crashing?
This. For eternity.
so just it and be quiet :laugh.gif:
Probably? Are you trolling him?
I have deleted the meta invf folder and stuff
