Magic launcher makes it easy!
1. Download Mod
2. (If it redirects you to adfly) wait 5 sec. then click SKIP AD
3. It should download or it brings you to mediafire or something (in that case press download)
4. After the mod zip file downloads open magic launcher
5. Click Setup
6. Click Add
7. In the windows that appears locate the folder you downloaded the mod in and double-click it
8. You done! (make sure you have forge or modloader)
(Optional) 9. After you install alot of mods then arrange them with Modloader or Forge on top, the random mods in the middle, and optifine last so that you don't have compatibility issues.
10. Click ok then log in!
Note: If a mod tells you to put the zip file in the mods folder create a folder called mods in you .minecraft if you haven't already, then do steps 5. and 6. and click manage and place the mod zip file inside.
Hope that helped
Oh and if the mod is in a jar folder magic launcher detects it.
LOL dude slow down and tell us what happened step by step.
Whenever I have changed the minecraft version to 1.3.1, downloaded modloader, or so I think, and popped it into the minecraft.jar file, leaving it at that, I download this mod, and place it into the Magic Launcher using your instructions. However, whenever I do this, it says: "No mods found" next to it in the list. I don't know how to activate the mod, so that I can select what I want or whatever, and I don't know why it says "no mods found" in the list. Please help me. I have no idea what I'm doing.

Please help
This means user try to install mod for minecraft 1.3.1 but uses different version of minecraft.jar.
Mod for v1.3.1 modifies auv.
Mod for v1.3.2 modifies auw.
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/120261-131-glsl-shaders-dof-bump-mapping-waving-wheat-dynamic-shadows-and-more/page__st__9460__p__18544481#entry18544481 is not the cause of this problem.
If you download "Shaders 2.1.6 For 1.3.1" from this topic opening post or from "Downloadable Mods" page in nitrous, you must use minecraft.jar v1.3.1.
If you download modified shader mod for 1.3.2 from my link in http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/120261-131-glsl-shaders-dof-bump-mapping-waving-wheat-dynamic-shadows-and-more/page__st__9460__p__18544481#entry18544481 , you must use minecraft.jar v1.3.2.
That is the same as what I see from Karyonix's modded version of shaders for 1.3.2 (with Optifine U B4).Also it is not different from what I see from daxnitro's GLSL Shaders for minecraft 1.3.1 (with Optifine U B1).
I see only DOF and waving grass, in both 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 default texture.
I did not compare it to earlier version. If there is problem, it exists since 1.3.1 or earlier.
I installed SEUS shaders (*.fsh *.vsh) over (minecraft+Optifine+GLSL mod) and use (Ovo texture Pack +SEUS Ovo patch -custom_water_*) and set options (chunk loading=default, aniso=off, antialias=off, mipmap=max, ctm=off).
SEUS reflection, normal mapping, shadow, water, grass and leave animation all work the same in 1.3.1 and 1.3.2.
Optifine B1-4 change the way scene is rendered.
It seems GLSL mod 2.1.6 for 1.3.1 is not fully compatible with Optifine, especially about water rendering.
But SEUS for 1.3.1 (which can also work in 1.3.2) running over GLSL mod does work. I think it uses different way to render water.
I tried installing this on my mac and it gave me this error message in the log, do you know what I could do?
major.minor version of latest file should be 50.
Please try re-download the file and install again.
Alright thanks, it installed but only the focal blur works, there are no shadows, no bloom effect, etc
I would understand if not because 1.4 is coming out in like 2 weeks.
I see only depth-of-field blur effect and waving grass in both of these configuration.
There is shadow after installation of SEUS v10 RC5 over this mod and uses Ovo texture + SEUS patch.
If it does: whopee and downloading.
If not: awww.
