Being able to turn MoreFlowers on and off is nice... but damn they are proliferate. It would be nice to be able to set spawn rates too. Is it too much trouble to ask for that addition to the props file?
I have placed some plastic blocks (Extracting Furnace, Glowstick, Plexiglass, glowing Plexiglass) and I can't remove any of them. I can hit them, but when the cracks finish, they loop until I let go of the mouse. I have these mods:
BetterBlocks
CJB
OptiFine HD F
Painting GUI
PlasticCraft
Portal Gun
Too Many Items
SinglePlayerCommands
ModLoader
AudioMod
Armor Stand
Krush, pardon me, and allow me to give you a proper summary of Minecraft Forge.
Forge is a utility which is attempting to tread the path that ModLoader once took - from obscurity to being required by almost everything. It is professionally produced by Eloraam, SpaceToad, and FLowerchild, who are being incredibly open to other modders recommendations. It is an experience-changing tool that produces multiple hooks into base files and modloader files, for truly infinite compatibility.
THe modders are also being kind enough to 1. add hooks for anyone that asks; ie, they are working on a biome generating/dimension generating hook per request, and power hooks for Alblaka. Also, 2. they are making all efforts to keep framerates at a max for the average player.
Please don't dismiss this tool based on your first hearing of it. You're bound to hear a lot more, and it would be great to get you on board - to my knowledge, PlasticCraft was both the first Huge mod, and the first true tech mod of any value.
The team has already converted some big mods, but every mod that converts brings the minecraft community closer to using MCF as much as modloader.
PS: It's not all that difficult to convert files to forge, either. Post on the thread.
PlasticCraft already has infinite compatibility, as it edits no core files and provides changeable properties. It does not need another API to do anything I need it to.
MCE does the sprite thing automatically without mods needing to require it. Why can't MCForge do that?
EDIT: I can see that what I've just posted is repetitive and unconvincing; this is the point where I direct a more knowledgeable person here. Thanks for your patience thusfar.
Great question - my understanding of the topic is as such: MCE's version is not coded perfectly or is (by nature of its method of providing sprites) unstable, and in certain situations causes certain issues not known to me. MCForge, with some simple code, has a proper alternative to MCE, while also providing all those hooks for the complex mods and ultimately becoming the mod everyone has installed - aiding newbies and simplifying things even for advanced players.

I am going to list pros/cons (see them as you wish):
MCE is trash when it comes to framerates for some people, and its not compatible with optifine (which the forge is working towards actively)
MCE doesn't allow you to connect to multiplayer servers, while MCF does so its great for people who want to have alot of mods, but are not completely anti social
MCF allows mods to use infinite terrian sprites without the frame loss becuase it reads from terrian sheets, MCE allows this but it requires players know how to edit png files and make there own terrian sheets, which i,personally, can do easilly with gimp, but most people don't even know where to begin
We all know MCE has tons of bugs, but i dare you to find more than 3 in the currently officially released version of the MCF API (disregarding spelling - spacetoad is not english)
While MCF doesn't provide more block ids, in future it will provide a way to give properties to 'damaged' blocks. (an example of a damaged block would be wool, or your colored plastic blocks)
MCF doesn't require the user to install other mods to get it working, a user simply installs it like modloader, and doesn't have to get preader.
With MCE you can't use any mod that requires preader 2.0, becuase MCE itself requires an outdated version
While MCE is maintained and distributed mainly by only 1 person, MCF is a group effort maintained by many well established people including, but not limited to, FlowerChild, Alblaka, Spacetoad, and Eloraam. I mean for goodness say Alblaka discontinued IndustrailCraft so he could revamp it using this API.
Scokeev9, the maker of the scottools and itemsprite APIs, is going to allow MCF to include both of these. Scottools will still be a standalone, unless you already have the forge, while the item sprite API is going to be solely included in the Forge.
MCF already has a great community around it, while MCE is its own little deserted island, in the MCF forums you see many people helping each other develop mods and remove confusion. While in the MCE forum there is alot of request for help, but barely any received.
In MCF you only need to provide hooks, and not actual base class modifications.(just thought I would toss that in here)
You can enter the nether with MCF but not MCE.

Have you had a look at either buildcraft(opensource), or the redpowder mod group from Spacetoad and Eloraam, respectively? - These mods are amazingly complex for the seemingly simple things they do, both Eloraam and Spacetoad are the lead developers of MinecraftForge - If there mods are that impressive, given time, imagine what minecraft forge will be?
---
This wasn't ment to convince you to use forge, this wasn't make to say, "MCF is way better then MCE," instead it was ment to tell you pros/cons - a sort of MCF vs MCE. This all being said I hope you won't immediatly write of MCF as a useless API becuase it does almost all the things MCE can do.

Bias Part:
In my opinion MCE is the bugged way out, the forge has the ability to give infinite terrain sprites without causing considerable fps lag on some machines and is striving to be the best alternative to modding base clean. It will even eventually be compatible with OptiFine. The forge has the ability to do everything mention above and, given time, oh so much more. The feature list will never stop expanding - in my opinion MCF is like the bukkit of modding, eventually it will be so powerful not using it will significantly decrease the amount of people that use your mod. So now I will stop rambling and ask for the first time, at least give it a chance?
hey can you make a mod that if you put 9 cobblestone in the workbench it makes processed cobblestone and if you put the proccessed cobble stone in the crafting grid you get 9 cobblestone its just for storing cobblestone basicly thanks basicly just like the redstone but with cobble thanks
I was also going to come here and ask if you were going to consider support for Minecraft Forge. I love your PlasticCraft mod, it's really fantastic.
But, I can see you have already made up your mind which is a great shame. Regarding MCExtended and the benefits that MCForge will bring you, ReddPandda2 summed it up best.
You can already see by the developers that have signed up to use Minecraft Forge that it is going to be a heavy weight. I hope you decide to change your mind, as it would be a shame to not be able to use PlasticCraft in the future simply because of it not using Minecraft Forge, and similar mods eventually using too many sprites.
I hope that ReddPandda2 has managed to change your mind :smile.gif: Minecraft Forge has such a great list of mods already on side, I think PlasticCraft's popularity would grow more with it.
Yes, I have TMI, but I didn't use it to give me filled moulds...
A stack of something normally is 64. A mould smelts into set of 3 (For plastic balls). 22 moulds = 66 plastic balls (Because it cannot smelt partial moulds, and believes it can smelt more since it's not a full stack). 66 > 64 which by all means is infinite in TMIs terms, thus it refunds any plastic used.
sorry for not reading the last 200 pages, but for the timber mod, when i hit a log with an axe it goes as fast as when im hitting it with my hand wat did i do wrong?

Install ScotTools, I've noticed that while using that, it's fixed. I'll try and fix it myself later though.
hello TehKrush there is a problem with the Timber mod, i have installed modloader correctly, deleted metainf and put the 2 files from the minecraft folder from the timber rar/zip into the jar, but wenever i try to break wood with any axe, it breaks as slow as when u break it with your fist. i could swear i installed it rih=ght but everytime i try, this always happens. please respond?

I have the PlasticCraft blocks set to this:
And the items:
This should only happen if you're using TMI...
Minecraft will never be the same.

And no, it doesn't affect planks.
Also, to anybody that just found out about these mods from CupQuake and PaperBatVG.. hi. Download the rest of my mods too kthx.
