I need a mirror because when I click the download link (1.0.0 version), it takes me to this site called Erichopkinsvideo.com saying failed to load page content. I am trying to download because the Angry Birds Texture Pack has compatability for it & I would love to see the textures in action. Thanks sooo much when/if you make a mirror for this fine mod.
Up until recently, I have been reluctant to use these mod-loader products, ( I don't know why)
But I had started playing on some Tekkit servers, and realized how powerful Minecraft Forge was. This inspired me to jump back into the modding community.
Part of the reason I discontinued Wild Grass was because of the frustration I had about trying to make the mod compatible with others, especially since I had to alter default Minecraft code. I was also frustrated with the amount of updates that were being released extremely close together, making it hard to deobfuscate the code, or convert from one version of Minecraft to another. Minecraft Forge and MCP and Modloader have made this easy.
But as I have been playing around with Forge over the last few months learning it's in and outs. I had become confident enough in my ability to try and convert Wild Grass, and I have been successful. No longer does it require any replacement of files, and I think it works beautifully.
I will NOT be releasing any versions for this mod other than the Minecraft Forge version. I will keep it up to date as Forge is update, NOT as Minecraft is updated.
Also a note to all of you. I plan on making this mod open-source eventually. So that if I ever become unable to support this mod in the future, you may continue my work, without any issues. Again sorry for what has happened in the past, and I will do everything I can to prevent that from happening again.
see's this in the forum threads, thinks someone is posting to hopefully get it attention from a modder who could update it...
now, i think i need to make a coffee, just so i can spit it out all out all over my computer.
i used this mod all through beta and it became my favorite mod. it was sad to see it die.
i look forward to playing with this again, some modders got close to recreating this but it was never the same. and i look forward to being able to share this with my friends who haven't been playing minecraft long enough to remember this mod.
now for the basic questions.
ExtrabiomesXL support coming? and will your grass currently work in its biomes to some extent?
will the vines, lilly pad flowers and biome related plants making a return?
and finally now that we have forge and you can basically go nuts and add whatever the hell you want without chewing up all our block id's do you plan on adding more to your mod?

I think for now I will just be sticking to the wild grass. I just want this to be a simple aesthetic mod that doesn't really add too much. Minecraft has it's own vines and lilies now, so I will probably not be doing anything with those. As far as custom biomes go, I never really thought of that, but I think I can add some code to be able to handle non-default biomes as long as those biomes have their temperature and humidity levels set.
Please make the lily pads bloom again! It adds such charm to all ponds.
Thanks, I think I can try to work those back in. It depends if I can figure a way to do it that doesn't clash with the current lily pads. Kind of like what I did with the grass.
is it possible to get a few more variations in the tall grass?
in plains biome it's most noticeable that its a sea of grass that's exactly the same, it would be great to have a little bit of variation in the grass, maybe even a slight colour randomization would do the job.
other than that, the only issues I've had is grass is occasionally showing up on dirt blocks, this is even occurring underground, it's rare though and could possibly be just a vanilla bug, it's not unheard of to find the odd flower by a pool of water anyway.

Amazing mod! Adds so much realism to minecraft! I love it!
Although, could you add compatibility for other forge mods that have biomes of their own? I'm using Highlands but I notice no wild grass in their biomes, which is a shame :/
WAT! Holy crap I can't believe it! Oh man, I've missed Wild Grass so much. <3
EDIT: After using it for 15 minutes or so, I have a few suggestions:
- Add a config file with the ability to change things like lowering the amount of vanilla tall grass, having ferns grow in biomes that don't actually specify it, etc.
- Change the tall grass to use the same colorizer as tall grass. Tried using it with my mod (Biomes O' Plenty), and I noticed that in biomes that have a hard-coded color, the wild grass doesn't use that color. Here's a picture of that:
Anyway, I'm really glad to see the mod back. I really hope you plan on re-adding the lilypads with flowers on them as well. You could have a separate lily flower block that only grows on top of the vanilla lilypads or something like that.

Hello,
I would love to use this mod in my modpack. Would it be alright with you if I did? I will give you full credit for the mod, and link my users to this forum post.
Oh my gawd how I have missed you, and this mod. I can't even begin to explain to you in words how lonely Minecraft has been without you and this mod. I am so amazingly happy that you are back and working on this mod. It really means a lot to me.
In the words of Jerry Maguire: You complete me.
If you can update this to 1.5 / 1.5.1 (when it's out), I will reward you with real-world money -- this mod is THAT important to me.
Its a necromancy seed.

That sounds wonderful.
Great suggestions for BOP support.
