hey, now the author is asking for 500$/month to publish this mod on a modpack, otherwise there's no way to use it but violating permissions...
I think he's gone to his head.
Thats the first ive heard of optifine being related to stuck mobs. In fact its not the cause for crocodiles because I tested MC 1.5 1.6 and 1.7 all with just forge and mo creatures and 1.5 is fine and 1.6 and 1.7 arent. (for crocodiles).
The deer and crocodiles bug apparently is unrelated to Optifine but the glitching insects is due to incompatibility betweenthe two mods. I just confirmed that this problem exists solely on the latest version of Mo'Creatures (1.7.10), since I'm now playing with the version for 1.7.2 along with Optifine and no problems. The deer and crocodile still don't move though.
he's gone to his head i tell you.
Reika done twice his work, but is extremely kind and reasonable, as ever.
Unlike this author, he feels elite for creating a bunch of animals... bah, it's a shame.
when could mo'creatures make a seperate mod for us that would have the old 1.3.2 mo'creatures but without the new textures they have for this version that is compatible with 1.7.10 ?

Can't you just retexture the mobs to make them "Vanilla-like"? Retextures don't require a whole new mod. Also, you can disable any mobs you don't want.
I originally posted this on the suggestion thread, but they said it would be better fitting here:
Feed a Vanilla Wolf a Essence of Darkness to change it into a tamed MoC Wwolf. Maybe ridable? Also, you can change its fur color (only the current realistic colors, so no green Wwolves, sorry) by feeding it dyes, and can be re-dyed. It will always attack nearby hostile mobs unless told to sit down, but will get up if you are attacked first.
Silver and Werewolves. Maybe add OreDictionary support or something, so silver weapons/tools added by other mods can hurt Werewolves. Maybe later, add TiC support, as in a new modifier that can be added to weapons to allow it to hurt Werewolves. Also, maybe Silver Skeleton armor can be a rare drop of the Silver Skeleton- if wearing a full set, werewolves do less damage to you and the fire one can no longer ignite you. I think a texture for silver player armor already exists in the game textures, but its unobtainable.
Make the creature and the creature armor separate textures. As in, instead of horseblack, horseblackdiamond, horseblackmetal, and horseblackgold, just make one horseblack texture, but have a horsearmorgold, horsearmormetal, and horsearmordiamond texture that will work more like player armor. This would make it much easier on people who want to make a resource pack for MoC. Essentially only one horseblack, horsewhite, horsebrown, etc texture, and an armor texture that gets overlayed on it. Same for all mobs that can wear armor (wyverns, ostriches, etc)
When feeding a Wyvern (any, not just a mother wyvern) an Essence of Fire, it will lay an egg that matches its type, similar to the scorpions. So if you feed a Cave Wyvern an Essence of Fire, it will lay a Cave Wyvern egg.
If a mob that drops meat (rat, turkey, deer, boar, etc) is killed while on fire, it will drop the respective cooked meat like the Vanilla mobs do.
Zombie horses should no longer produce a big slime when killed, just a small or medium one. It's just weird when a slime way bigger than the horse comes out of it. Also, maybe some maggots spawn (3-5) as well when a zombie horse (or any zombie creature) is killed. Gross, but accurate. I think tamed zombie pegisi/unicorns already drop maggots when killed, but normal and hostile zombie animals should too. Maybe they can also just randomly spawn one every so often.
you expect them to behave like dogs and follow your commands? they are cats.
MOC wolves are evil, they will attack in darkness.
Well if MOC wolves are not tameable just because they attack you in certain conditions, MOC big cats and komodo dragons shouldn't be tameable because they attack you as well on certain conditions (especially the female lion). Also, I'm not asking for big cats to follow my commands. I'm just asking for them to be able to follow me (or let me ride them like horses, although I would be satisfied by just having them follow me), just like Vanilla minecraft cats. This way, I wouldn't lose them as often.

you have to tame the big cats as kittens, you can't tame the big ones. Your analogy fails at that point.

I have a suggestion!
I'd really like to see Ender Scorpions.
They could spawn in the End, and very rarely in the overworld deep in caves (possibly only when other Ender mobs are around?). They could possibly be tamed like any other Scorpion but you need a Ender eye for it to work. They could be used as mounts, oh and they could teleport! That would be awesome!
I think they would be a cool addition to Minecraft.
So the other day I set up a private server for my friend and I to play on with a few mods, one of them being MOC, this being the only mod that adds any sort of creature to the game. Anyway, we played for a while but found that we were constantly starving due to the lack of creatures, there were literally next to none other than a mouse every now and then, this includes vanilla mobs too. But when night comes then hostile mobs appear to be spawning normally, there is a big mix of all kinds, both MOC and vanilla. In singleplayer all mods work fine and everything is spawning normally but on the server there is very little life. I checked the config and it seems to be normal. This is a straight forge server with the latest version of forge. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Install CMS, then type /doMobSpawning true, After that type /cms spawncap creature 200 or 300,then do this too type /cms spawncap Watercreature 100. you should be fine with that.

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move
Hey, I'm having trouble with the whip. Y'see, when I right click my wyverns/horses with it in hand, they stay, but I can't seem to make it work when riding a mount. I'm supposed to be able to right click with the whip in hand while riding a mount and they'll go faster -or do some kind of special thing, depending on what mount it is- right? Also worth noting is that nothing happens when I right click the ground with it. It's supposed to make all surrounding mobs stay, right? The only mods I have installed on my Minecraft is Mo' Creatures, Custom Mob Spawning, and Optifine. Any suggestions on what I should do?
No matter what I do, I cannot change mob spawn rates. I've tried the config and the custom mob spawner but even after I tell the mod not to spawn a certain creature, it still spawns. Why am I having this problem?

if you have CMS you must modify the right config files. CMS will not kill mobs of the type you tell it not to spawn. try the following, in CMS config files
set the freq to 0
set canspawn to false
if these do not work, empty the biome group list for the mob in question.
btw, do you have BOP as well?

Great ... time to remove it from my server as it is going to be monetized.
I hate elitist mod creators.

and if all else fails, enable the vanilla spawning system.
And you have to hatch your own komodo dragon!
