There doesn't seem to be an options menu of any kind for me. I have a feeling it's something to do with Forge. Anyone else having this problem? (Playing 1.7.2)

I think it's a Minecraft issue, not the mod. You need to go into the config folder and edit the files there. If Custom Mob Spawner is installed you need to edit those files, instead of Mo'Creatures files. If you open up the CMS zip file there is a UserGuide that explains what the settings do.
When I download it I get the zip files. I tried putting them in to my Forge Mods folder and when I started Minecraft it crashed. It didn't crash before then. I even tried unzipping the files, which made them folders, and then putting them in my Forge Mods folder and again it crashed my Minecraft. I am using other mods so maybe it's being affected by the other mods but otherwise it's not working.
Ah, there we go. What other mods are you using? That is almost certain to be the cause.
It works now. I reset my Minecraft a freshly installed forge and all the mods starting with Mo' Creatures and then the rest of the mods. It all works fine. Just needed a restart.
Just wondering, wouldn't it be easier if each mob had a separate armor file? It would reduce a lot of textures and space, thus saving room. By this I mean have just one horse_metal armor, which is then overlayed on each horse texture, so instead of horsebrightpintometal, horseblackmetal, etc. It would just be horsebrightpinto and horseblack, as well as one separate horse_armor_metal file. This would work for all mobs that can wear armor. Now I know how this could conflict with the Crystalline horse armor, as it seems to have transparent parts, but that would be the only armor that isn't separated. So it would still be horsebat and horsebatcrystalline. Also, things like the elephant/mammoth tusk upgrades and harness would also have separate files. I just think this would be easier on all of us, especially if we want to make a texture pack for Mo' Creatures, or if you want to add more mobs that can wear armor/more armors mobs can wear.
I think the 1.6.4 version might work with 1.6.2, I think those two versions can be used together. I remember you could play 1.6.2 mods on a 1.6.4 game, but I'm not sure about the opposite. Why not just use 1.6.4 just to be safe?
MOC 6.1.0 can't be used with a forge version less than .965 due to the ents.

I don't know if this will help you much or not, but we made a video on some of the breeding combinations that work to breed all of the Tier 1 Mo' Creatures horses. Hopefully this can help you at least a little bit:
I'm a complete noob with MoC but I'll try to answer a couple recent questions:
Where's the mod? http://mocreatures.org/home ... Click Downloads, get both MoC and CMS there. Don't use the Forge there, it's outdated.
About CMS not being required, well, you don't need tires on a car either but you won't get far without them, just like you won't get far with MoC without CMS or another custom spawner. The Vanilla mob spawner doesn't know anything about MoC or where those mobs should spawn. You really do need CMS or another mod to manage where they spawn, quantities, frequency, etc.
Finally, as to some mobs not spawning, in the CMS folder CustomSpawner\overworld is file EntitySpawnTypes.cfg. I found I didn't have any squid until I modified that. The default chunkgenspawnchance=0.0 for some of the types. Set this to 0.1 for all types. Restart the server, hang around for a while to see what happens.
Can you please fix the crashes because of ents, golems and ogres on Mac. Its really annoying when I have to reload the world without mo creatures because of the ent's tree planting which causes the game to crash.
or you can update your forge, this error is caused by the wrong version of forge with MOC 3.1.0+
Please use a reliable file host instead of the horribly defective "uppit.com", which does nothing but generate errors.
Luckily, I was able to download Mo'Creatures via the mirror that you have provided, but unfortunately you have failed to provide a similar mirror for CustomMobSpawner.
Please fix your mistakes so that everyone can use Mo'Creatures and enjoy a Minecraft that feels alive.

Hi Dr Zhark. I am getting this crash when I open Minecraft. I have no other mods installed other than Forge (The one you had in the link), Mo Creatures and Custom Mob Spawner.
Here is my crash report:

The latest version of forge or a different one?
that depends, 1.7.2 or 1.6.4?
1.6.4 with other mods. But I tried what you said to do and it worked perfectly. Thanks, my friends that have worlds of their own on this computer always complained about the crashes.
Anyone else have a situation in 1.7.2 where, if you start a new game that puts you on an island, it spawns loads of various watercreatures right near your starting point, but then doesn't seem to want to spawn any more watercreatures anywhere else? Even when traveling far from the original spawn point, it's as if it fills the spawn cap upon generating the world and then even though the 0,0 chunk is no longer loaded, it thinks the spawn cap is still filled.
I've tried changing the Watercreatures entry in the EntitySpawnTypes.cfg to match the 'Creature' settings, since Creatures don't have this issue. It just makes an even bigger blob of Watercreatures at the start of the game, then nothing again.
I'm hoping it's not a conflict with another mod. I also run Archimede's Ships, Minecraft Comes Alive, and CraftGuide.
I think it's a Minecraft issue, not the mod. You need to go into the config folder and edit the files there. If Custom Mob Spawner is installed you need to edit those files, instead of Mo'Creatures files. If you open up the CMS zip file there is a UserGuide that explains what the settings do.

1.6.4 with other mods. But I tried what you said to do and it worked perfectly. Thanks, my friends that have worlds of their own on this computer always complained about the crashes.
