I've got a few questions about the CMS / Mo' Creatures options.
1. What does Change Vanilla Spawns do?
2. Is the frequency of spawns relative or absolute? In other words, if I set all the mobs to spawn with frequency 4, is it the same as setting them all to frequency 5?
3. What does the Chunk setting affect?
4. What does "Golem Destroy Blocks" affect? Does it change whether golems "consume" surrounding blocks?

Change vanilla spawns does exactly what you think it does. It changes the spawn settings for all the default minecraft mods. So say you didnt' want zombie's in your world, just turn them off in the settings there...
I'm afraid i don't quite understand this question. You're "in other words" basically sounds like you're repeating yourself.
Chunk setting affects how many will spawn per chunk. I'm not quite sure how this relates to the other spawn settings exactly, but I'd imagine it'd be something like this. Minimum Spawn:Max Spawn:Group Spawn:How many per chunk
I'm not entirely sure if that's the correct order or if that's even the proper settings... But I do know that the chunk setting effects how many will spawn within a chunk.
I assume that this would be it. I usually just turn off Golems in my SP games, same with ogre's... :\

Hello, I love your mod. It adds so much to the Minecraft world that should be in the vanilla version.
Anyway, I have an issue I was hoping someone could help me with. I want to use "[1.5.2] BetterStorage Mod 0.6.1". However, when I add this mod no mobs spawn what so ever. Mobs will sawn if I use spawn eggs, and mobs that were in the world before adding this mod are still present. I'm not sure what the issue is, I thought it might be a compadability issue between Mo' Creatures config and Better Sorage's, but I can't seem to find anything that could be causing this issue. These are all the mods I have installed other than Better Storage: •Minecraftforge-universal-1.5.2-7.8.0.696 •GuiAPI-0.15.6 •DrZharks MoCreatures Mod v5.2.2 •CustomMobSpawner 2.2.1 •ReiMinimap_v3.3_06 •Meincraft-Mod-1.5.2(←The issue was present before adding this mod)
Could anyone help me with this issue? I don't need the Better Storage mod but I would like to have it for my private server. I could make my structure's interiors much better with it. Thank you for your time.

You get bonus points for using Windows 8. I love that OS.
That aside, how did you install Mo'Creatures? I assume you used a launcher since you said you don't know how to find your minecraft folder, so which one did you use?
I use the normal launcher that I should use...
If you're regarding the server then I had to run it through the .jar file and a batch file

If you're regarding the server then I had to run it through the .jar file and a batch file
So if you're just using a standard setup, you should already know how to find your minecraft folder, as you would have had to find it to install Mo'Creatures.
I highly recommend looking into MultiMC to use as a launcher. It makes installing and removing mods extremely easy, and is hands-down the best launcher I've ever come across for Minecraft.
If I wanted to make a patch myself that would make Mo creatures and BWG4 fully work together, exactly what would I need to do? I've poured all over for solutions and the one i found is only one small step in the overall solution:
Posted 21 May 2013 - 08:16 AM by Draxiswuf
"So I almost-but-not-really got MoCreatures working with Better World Generation 4. I found out that if I create a bwg.cfg in the Biomes folder and add the line S:bwg <BWG:bwg.cfg> to the global config file, then MoC detects BWG4 and populates bwg.cfg with all of the correct BWG biomes."

Well to be honest, I think I've messed with my server so far that I can barely figure out how to get it right again. But I will try this. And hopefully it will work

I assume that this would be it. I usually just turn off Golems in my SP games, same with ogre's... :\
I checked on question #4 by toggling the settings myself. If big golems cannot destroy blocks, then they suck up surrounding blocks but don't actually remove them. It's more like they clone the blocks. But then I noticed another problem... The golem provides an infinite source of whatever blocks are around it. If you let it break blocks, it can grief. But if you disable that, it can be abused to copy blocks. This should be like skeleton arrows: you shouldn't be able to pick those blocks up if they're copied out of the landscape.
Sometimes the golem also behaves strangely. I did tests in a superflat world. In a superflat world made out of sandstone, the golem would pull blocks toward it but couldn't build itself out of sandstone. So the sandstone just built up as drops on the floor. The golem was invulnerable during that process, so... I couldn't kill it either, even in creative. It's weird that it can't use sandstone when it can use dirt, sand, gravel, obsidian, and even iron blocks.
Edit: Forgot to clarify question #2: another way of seeing it is, if I set frequency to 5 on all mobs, does it change spawning in some way compared to if the frequency for all of them is 4? If frequency is absolute, then it does change something. If frequency is relative, then it doesn't change anything.
My minecraft crashes no matter how I install it... I redid everything and installed it with no other mods it still crashed.

Can someone help? Am I messing something up? Any help appreciated
1. SPOILER TAGS PLEASE!
2. did you put GUIAPI in the mods folder or the coremods folder where it is supposed to go?
I wouldn't suggest doing anything with the .class files (but I'm not the most knowledgeable about these things, so that's mostly just my uninformed opinion of the matter).
As far as the configuration files, though.. You can find those inside
config/MoCreatures/Creatures
in your Minecraft folder.
Each mod that adds mobs has its own file, so it's a matter of just finding the ones you need and editing those.
Inside the config you'll see something like this:
S:Ant <FOREST:JUNGLE:NORMAL>
That says "Spawn ants in forest, jungle, and normal biomes". You can add/remove other biomes to that list by following the style :BIOME.
Further down, you'll find more settings that look like this:
S:Ant <AMBIENT:7:1:4:4>
That says "Spawn ants as ambient creatures, with a frequency of 7, minimum of 1, maximum of 4, and maximum of 4 per chunk". (Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the chunk setting, I'm not 100% sure of that.)
By changing the values there, you can adjust the same settings like you would in-game. Just change the numbers to what they would be in the GUI when you set them.
Sorry if this is a bit complicated to understand, if you need more help, let me know.

try deleting your config files for MOC, the CMS errored on a mob gen
though it could also be the forge version is too new...try backing up to .710 if deleting the config files doesn't fix it

These are all the mods I have installed other than Better Storage:
•Minecraftforge-universal-1.5.2-7.8.0.696
•GuiAPI-0.15.6
•DrZharks MoCreatures Mod v5.2.2
•CustomMobSpawner 2.2.1
•ReiMinimap_v3.3_06
•Meincraft-Mod-1.5.2(←The issue was present before adding this mod)
Could anyone help me with this issue? I don't need the Better Storage mod but I would like to have it for my private server. I could make my structure's interiors much better with it. Thank you for your time.
[1.5.2] BetterStorage 0.6.1
http://www.minecraft...p/page__st__520
It may or may not help resolve your issue, but you should start by updating your CustomMobSpawner to the latest version (2.2.2).
I use the normal launcher that I should use...
If you're regarding the server then I had to run it through the .jar file and a batch file

And hopefully it will work
find the FML-client-0.log file and post it here for more help.
This is the crash WITH the other mods.
