I'm wondering what would be the percentage of users still on 1.7.10??? Anyone can provide some info?
Hi Drekihlata here (on of the top mods of the offical server as well as the admin for the site Mocreatures.org)
we plan on keeping the 1.7.10 server running even after the 1.8 is up, so i guess a bug fix would be welcome among our members at least...
You should add a Phoenix. Make it so you have the ability to ride them with a saddle, a special one made of iron or gold since regular will just burn.
To tame it you will need a Raw Rat since it makes more sense. Also, make that it can make waves of fire when it turns hostile, you can also shoot with waves of fire when you tame them. I really don't know for the drops.
I need some help. There are animals everywhere! Standing in one place I can see 3 elephants, 9 turkeys, 6 zebras, 5 birds, 3 snakes, and 4 Bigcats. That is without turning around. It recently caused a stack overflow when I died (way too many entities on the screen). Does anyone know what is wrong? Is there a way to tone the spawning down, because this is rediculous.
For some reason horses are NOT spawning in any of their designated biomes. I'm running 1.8 and ALL of my other mods are running stable and reliably. No vanilla horses, or Mo'Horses, are spawning on seeds/locations where I've never had a problem. Am I missing something? Yes, I do have Forge and CMS installed. P.S. Be nice, it's been a couple years since I played!!!!
check the biome lists for the horses, they may have gone wonky on the default settings. turning off word wrap helps reading the biome list config file.
delete your CMS config files if you have used previous versions.
then after you regen the files, check and make sure the following settings are correct:
1. in global make sure the setting for doMobSpawning is false.
2. in the overworld folder (assuming you don't have BOP), the entity spawn types config file, make sure the spawn limit for creatures isn't set too high, and check water creatures it likes to default to 5 for some reason.
3. in the environment config file in the overworld folder, you can try setting the enforce spawn limits to true if you don't get better results, as well as setting force despawn to true.
please note, the game will not despawn mobs if you lower the limit, you will have to use the /cms killall MOD|Mobname command to forceabley remove mobs.
Also raising my hand as a server owner sticking to 1.7.10, for the same reasons that have already been mentioned. With so many mods staying in 1.7 for one reason or another, and with so little actually offered by 1.8+, there's just too much to lose, and not enough to gain.
And while I'm here, thanks for all the work you and the rest have put in over the years, you've been pretty good to us. I was worried mounts being back to their pre-1.6 levels of usability would be 1.8 and beyond only, but if you're really working on a backport for 1.7.10, well... thanks again. It would be really nice to break out that Wyvern I've had basically sitting in storage for a few years now.
I have a question! According to the site for the mod, a tamed shark should NOT attack you. Yet.. I hatched 3 sharks and they kept attacking me :/ Did I do something wrong?

Is there any cheat commands to tame big cats since apparently it isn't working right now with the newest version?

Yes, I've installed custom mob spawner 3.3.0.
(I placed the Custom Mob Spawner 3.3.0 .zip in the mods folder. If that is wrong please let me know.)

I will try some of those suggestions . However, the stack overflow ended up being caused by Maid mob x.
ah, sometimes other mods that add mobs can cause CMS to go wonky. especially if they add their own mob spawn system
