Okay, so I've been having problems with this mod, and I can't seem to find anywhere else that will tell me how to fix them, so I've decided to come here to spew off my problems to the minecraft community Here goes:
First let me say that this mod seems awesome, and from what I've played, it is. I've encountered a few problems though, as is the case when I try to do anything outside of vanilla minecraft... Not the point! So, when I loaded it up on my server, everything was running fine, and animals were spawning a lot more frequently (Which was awesome, our spawn and home base is in the Taiga biome, and we hadn't seen even ONE wolf there for the whole couple months we've had this server, I've found 4 after this mod in a day). My brother and I decided to test it and go "hunting" at night, but when the sun went down there was an unpleasant surprise. There were HOARDS of monsters, but the big part was that they were spawning in groups of 4-5. Maybe this is by design (Is this how it was before 1.9? I've only played 1.4.2 and on, so I don't know), but it doesn't seem right to me that every night I'm surrounded by 4 werewolves, a group of 5 giants, and 2 golems on either side of me. We literally couldn't do anything that night except hide because there were just too many mobs. I'm all for more frequent mob spawning, but we were in full Iron and had a few iron swords and the three of us (My sis was with us too) were pulverized before the night was over, every single one of us died.
So, I noticed in the global mods setting, I could play with a lot of the spawning options, but I don't know what half of these options are. We did some tests to try and fix it, and we found that if we turned everything's spawning frequency down to one, and the maximum allowed mobs to around ten to twenty, it kind of fixed our problem. Now we're running into not finding very much of anything.
My real question hidden in this jumbled mess of "I stayed up till 6 A.M. last night trying to fix this" writing is this: Is there a way I can turn mob spawning to be how it is in Vanilla minecraft, to where things will spawn frequently, but not in big groups of each mob. It's simply because we can't handle fighting two golems at once while there are 3 werewolves right next to them. Is this happening to anyone else?
Hi, I am having problems with running the mod MoCreatures. I have already installed the 1st two mods you requested, the GUI and customspawner, and they all work until I add MoCreatures in last. I also have Forge, deleted META-INF too. I have tried putting it in coremod, and still nothing worked. I keep seeing a black screen appear after the Mojang logo as if it crashed. What should I do?
Thank you for your time!
Did you make sure that you added the GUI API into the .jar file? Actually modify the zip the same way you've modified it with forge. The other two go in the mods folder. Hope I helped.

First of all delete meta-inf then drag all the files from forge(the latest forge version) and also the GUI into your Minecraft.jar then put the custom mob spawner into your mods folder also with the Mo creatures then open Minecraft. Hope that helped.
After gathering lots of furs and hides from the various creatures and making all the armor, Might I suggest being able to craft leather out of the furs and hides. I think that will make it infinitely useful through out the game.
can someone help me make a recent version without the golems cause when i try to remove them myself i have problems with then getting minecraft to work
In the recent update, Minecraft crashes on start up because of null pointer exception. I have the correct versions of the mods and i installed them correctly
So I cannot currently get on, however, due to my amazing reading and listening skills, I have come to the conclusion that I need to work on my reading and listening skills. I have found and used the donate link for the server! Take yourself to this address, and go down about a third of the way:
Find the button? Send him some bucks via your debit or visa card and while you're add it, don't forget Dr. Zhark. That is also the link for the mp server files, ladies and gents!
Just spotted a pretty dangerous bug recently, if you ride a dolphin over a 1 block shallow part of water, the dolphin... and its rider... will be instantly killed by fall damage. Pretty dangerous.... using forge .426 by the way, and Mo'Creatures 4.3.1
Okay, so some jokers are running around with invisible skins and without names. This kind of bull can cause errors in other people's clients. So, want to be funny and ruin someone else' game? How's about this: I even hear you are doing this, and I will ban you. I will continued to ban you until the day I get banned. Recommend all mods/ops/admins be on the lookout for this, and ban accordingly. You guys that are doing this know who your are, and you have now been warned.
ok, i tried creating a new world, and came up with this helpful message:

--- END ERROR REPORT 190f3fd ----------
I'm having crashing problems with mo' creatures. ticking screen error keeps coming up. I'm using simply horses mod with it and it was running okay for almost a week with random crashes here and there and lag. Now it crashes minecraft completely. I deleted mo' creatures and minecraft no longer crashes but I want to run this awesome mod. Is mo' creatures not compatible with simply horses mod? I've seen youtube videos with both running so not sure if its just me or the new updates that have made my minecraft angry. Any help appreciated.
I've loved your mod for a jeez...it must be a few years now, but was always sad that I couldn't play it SMP with friends! I'm overjoyed you finally have brought it to SMP, but I have a question before I set up my server...
On a linux install with no user interface, how the heck do you change the spawn rates? I have the gui on the client, but I'm guessing that's not going to change anything on the server...so how do I modify things?
Edit:
Alright after a refined search I saw talk of it generating a server config file server side, as well as a guiconfig file client side if I'm playing single player. Cant access the server tonight to try it out, but I don't have this guiconfig file. Will it only create this if a I change the default settings? I see the creatures, and I have access to the controls via the gui, but that config file is no where to be found.

Vanilla mobs do spawn though, I see cows, creepers, pigs, etc, just not squids.
I too would like to know.
