Same here, I am trying to download the old version of this mod (1.591) from the archive but am getting a 404 Not Found. Can anyone help with getting this old version?
Does the weather2 mod work on 1.8? Flan's Mod is on 1.8 and I want to keep Flan's Mod. Do I have to give up on this mod or can I use it on 1.8?
There is a version for 1.8, but I'm not sure on how well it runs. I do know that Flan's Mod has a version for 1.7.10 as well (as I checked the
website to see what Flan's Mod was).

I'd like to stay on 1.8 so that is why I asked. The only 1.8 version I saw was 1.8.9, and I don't know if that'll work for 1.8 (or 1.8.0)
I would like to ask permission to use the weather and tornadoes mod in a modpack on technic. No rush, I still have a lot to work out, but this is one of the first mods I wanted to use, so I would like a response.
Anyone know why I don't have any clouds for the weather mod? All the other weather stuff runs fine (although when a storm is coming, the sky flashes like crazy for a few seconds).

it's usually a mod conflict. What other mods are you running?
I love the particle man mod, using Redstone, Fire & Water particles make me feel like a battle engineer. I was considering putting pets mod in a modpack, but it isn't for 1.7.10. Is it possible that it may be updated, or is that completely off of your radar?

Now look, buddy. I'm an Engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like 'what is beauty', because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems. Like, how am I going to stop some big, mean mother-hubbard from tearing me a structurally superfluous new behind? The answer: Use a gun. And if that don't work: Use more gun. Like this heavy-caliber, tripod-mounted little ol' number designed by me. Built by me. And you'd best hope, not pointed at you.
I hope this makes sense, I would like to know, with the weather2 mod (i'm using 1.7.10 in my modpack), what block types does a tornado pick up? meaning, is there any block a player can build with that if a tornado hits, won't get picked up?
having lots of mods with enhanced building materials in them is what is making me wonder.
Hey there, still using your mod and loving it. I'm sticking with MC 1.8.9 so I can keep using it. I'm wondering though... Would it be possible to overlay your map onto the semi-transparent black square of the weather forecast block? So you're able to see the terrain that the weather is on. Similar to real life radar, overlaying clouds and weather onto map to show its exact position.

It's been a while, but if I'm not mistaken it's the weight of the block vs. how exposed the block is to the actual tornado/hurricane/whatever-just-hit-your-house. Tornado ignore the base of trees ever since they became guaranteed on the first day(a tornado ruining the only tree in the desert on the first day would make some desert/custom worlds unplayable).
So the tornado will dig a certain weight into the ground wherever it hits, usually stopped by stone or after ripping through a lot of dirt. If you want your house to survive a tornado you should build it out of something heavy like stone bricks. Even mod blocks have a weight, though if they're light enough they could be swept away.
In my last file I made a sandstone brick house early to keep safe, but I had to keep repairing the outside since it got ravaged every few days. My advice is to use stone of some variant to build if you build often, and avoid window panes, fences and glass. Iron bars give out too.
The only window I know of that withstands direct tornado hits is the reinforced glass block from Ic2.
Seriously though, just build a weather deflector with your first diamond. It covers a radius of around 128 blocks and acts as an anti-grief.
ah, I was going to mention SecurityCraft has reinforced glass blocks and panes as well, would bricks be safe or are they lighter than stone? just trying to get an idea of where things stand for weights.
[EDIT]I also wanted to mention I posted a bug report on the github concerning Thermos 1.7.10 servers, the continuation of Kcauldron:
in single player both the Anemometer and the Windvane move with the "wind" and they look cool, but using them on a Thermos server (1614) they are not moving at all.
I think it'd be cool if, in the future, high wind storms did a little more than just having an added visual wind effect on them. Pushing players and mobs around, perhaps? As of now they aren't much more interesting than lightning storms.
Windstorms without the rain and lightning would be a cool addition in the future too.

I think the wind pushing mobs/players around was actually a thing once, it was in the original Weather mod and an earlier version at that which I don't think is available now unfortunately. I didn't know of the Weather mod at this time but if you look way back at Season 1 of Mike7493's Tornado Survival some episodes the wind is strong enough to push him and other mobs around.
I'd love to see this re-added as it actually gave the wind a bit of an edge to it, you know. If you weren't playing the mod for very long and didn't know a lot about it it'd make you wonder if one day the wind might pick up to a dangerous level (as it does with tornadoes, and I also think there should be wind that actually strong enough to cause damage outside of tornadoes as well in the mod!). It's the little things like those that fill in the gaps left by the big obvious features to make it a complete mod, you know. Coros so far has done an outstanding job with this mod, wish he'd add that back in and some other stuff that eventually got removed too though...
As for the windstorms without rain or lightning, that would be neat as well. Some wouldn't be enough to push you around or do anything much other than make the clouds and particles faster, and others would get to the point where it'd knock over a few trees and even do minor damage to your house. If caught outside in one of those stronger ones you'd find it hard to move around since the wind would be blowing you around...I love this idea. I'm actually working on a list of all of the things I'd love to see added to this mod since I've had spontaneous ideas about them ever since I got the mod and knew the ins and outs of it. But never before have I organized them into a list... I do have a ton of ideas to make it even more realistic and unpredictable then it already is. One day you might see me posting it on here... although I know I'm nowhere near done and I've already got 2 screens of text on Notepad on this topic.
Anyways I also want to thank Coros for making such a great mod... it's such a great improvement over the default weather system of Minecraft where there's only three modes (clear, rain, thunderstorm, I guess 4 if you count snow but still) and that you switch between these modes within the blink of an eye which is completely unrealistic and distant from how the real world works. Default isn't localized like in the real world either... this beautiful mod changes all that. Almost can't play survival Minecraft without it! I mean I don't think the weather is what the creators had in mind to generate a feeling of danger but I mean in survival Minecraft you're still out in the wilderness, complex and dynamic (and dangerous) weather is a big part of that in the real world and so it should be in Minecraft too. Luckily for us weather fans we have Coros to the rescue
Do you now why coros removed the wave, surfboard and all the other cool features?
Not sure why... but I'd love to see them back. The waves were especially cool, added a nice touch to the game.
I remember seeing somewhere this clip of actual waves coming up on shore in Minecraft. It wasn't from the Coros Tornado mod, it was something different an it was so cool they were actually almost like real waves coming up on shore! I'll try to find it because that was really cool, it's a ways back in the thread but I'll try. It was in a post describing how the cyclones could be improved in this game (which did include the threat of storm surges which isn't currently in the mod but would make it much more exciting since damage can also be done that way, that's where the clip I'm talking about came from).
Edit: I found it, it was from almost 2 years ago lol
Try going to this link instead: Link Removed The link was changed to a bit.ly location, but it works.
Hmmm...Do you have Llibrary included in your private/public modpack? If so, which version?
Minecraft Fan! And modder wanna be!

These.
Also, storms occasionally crash the game.

Zombie awareness doesnt load in "the 1.7.10 pack" when added, just causing a crash.. Are there any known bugs with ZA? I would love more difficulty.
