im using winrar and it wont let me delete the Meta-inf file an error comes up that looks like this c:\users\heather\desktop\minecraft .exe: The archive is corrupt
What does this mean/how do i fix it
That's because you're trying to mod the launcher, not Minecraft itself. Mods do not go in Minecraft.exe, they go in minecraft.jar.
Equivalent Exchange is loaded (mod_EE), or trying to load since it failed. But you're right, it needs Forge and at this point, you're better off waiting until the Forge people get full Modloader support before you update Forge. Just because they release a "suggested" update every other day, doesn't mean you have to install it. Get an older version that's known to be compatible with all modloader mods.
Please don't give bad advice, it's just not cool. What Minecraft Forge has done is use Forge Modloader (FML). With FML, modloader is no longer needed to be installed at all. With FML, ALL mods that need Modloader will work with the new Forge installed AND NOT Modloader. So now, all you do is install Forge, and you don't ever need to install Modloader or ModloaderMP (Unless a mod needs ModloaderMP, but in this case it can only be used SSP and not SMP.)
Edit: I am running a total of 88 mods and some of them don't require Forge, but just Modloader.

Hmmmm, I think you might have your facts a little wrong there. As it has been stated that they had to wait for Modloader and ModloaderMP to update before they could update. Once those updated, they normally updated within a few days after that. I trust CPW (FML) and Eloraam, Lex Manos and the others to update Forge in a timely manner. Now that Forge doesn't have to rely on anyone, then they should update a lot faster. But alas, this isn't what this thread is for, to debate this. But to say Forge breaks modloader only mods, is down right wrong, and do not give wrong advice to people. If you have a problem with FML breaking a mod that needs modloader, and only mod loader (As some mods edit base classes that would be incompatible with Forge. I.E. BTW.) then talk to CPW or Lex. Tryhttp://minecraftforge.net/forum/ and ask for help. Because I am running Modloader mods and not having an issue with them loading with the latest release of Forge. Heck, even Forge mods that haven't been updated to the new forge yet are working perfectly.

okay, i have about four different mods and i heard on a video that modloader is supposed to allow you to use all of those without messing them up, but when i install modloader after installing toomanyitems it says it is on, then i install something like elemental creepers and it all unloads and goes to normal survival mode minecraft.....help please?

I am trying to use an older version of mod loader (B1.7.3) So I can play some of the older mods that havent been updated in a while and to get a feeling of nostalgia, but for some reason my MC crashes when I only have the modloader 1.7.3 in the JAR. I used MC nostalgia to downgrade my MC to 1.7.3 so I know thats not my problem. I get an error report but it dissappears to fast for any of it to be read besides

If you are talking about what I think you are, then it wasn't redpower that was broken. If you are talking about the ore generation on world load, that was mDiyo's 4096 fix that hadn't been updated in ages. Not Forges fault there, as it was built on a very old Forge. Redpower has and still does work for me with the latest forge. That says a lot, since Redpower is still at Pr5b2 and hasn't updated. And considering Eloraam (Creator of RP) also works on Forge... Hmmm, I think she would have known if she had to push an update for RP2 to be compatible with Forge when it released. While Metadata hasn't been included, it STILL works. Shall I continue to make examples or will you finally admit that you have no idea what you are talking about? Oh and the 4096 fix? Pahimar (Current maintainer of EE2 has updated a fix, also Forge now includes a fix directly.)

More than likely, you have a mod in the mods folder that is not compatible with that version of minecraft / modloader. Check the mods folder and see what you have there. Make sure all the mods are for that version.

Things that have occurred (Talk to the BTW folks, get their feelings), yours are based on promises... IMO EMPTY promises. Most bugs are the result of Forge development moving very fast. Some mods keep up and other mods fall behind, resulting in incompatibilities.

What file archiving utility are you using to edit the minecraft.jar file? Is Minecraft open when you try to edit the jar? Also, Risugami simply can't answer the shear volume of posts and messages he must get. People like me are willing to help you instead.

No it is not. Might want to read a few pages back as to why.
More than likely, you have a mod in the mods folder that is not compatible with that version of minecraft / modloader. Check the mods folder and see what you have there. Make sure all the mods are for that version.
