Does it specifically have to be winrar or 7zip? I've used jZip in the past and it worked. I'll try it again tomorrow using 7zip or winrar, I've got class tomorrow and I can't be up all night to work on this, as much as I want to and get it working..
I think the newest version of Optifine broke modloader. I know I can't get modloader compatible mods to work since I upgraded to it. None of my other mods have changed except for that one.
*edit
I got it fixed. I copied the acr.class file from the mod loader zip back into the minecraft.jar. Ran minecraft and got everything working again, then copied the acr.class file from optifine back in and everything still works. :smile.gif:
Not really sure if this has been reported or if it's possibly on my end that this happened but I downloaded the Recipe Book mod and when I open it I get like 1017 recipes and thats because it doubles or most likely quadruples the amount of recipes. For example, instead of having one recipe I have two or more recipes of the same thing, which ended up giving me 1017 recipes somehow. It could be a conflict between mods, I don't know. Anyone know how I can fix this?
Guh...I think I'm going to die. It's just not working for me. I do ALL of the instructions. But boom. Blackscreen. No error code. Just like that until I close it. My MineCraft works fine with any other mods, but even just ModLoader with nothing else in the jar won't even work. Someone PLEASE help me.
I am encountering some major problems on installing modloader along with the accompanying mods. I have searched up multiple mac tutorials (as I use a mac), and none of them have worked for me, even after I have followed the instructions. I have followed the instructions given in this forum, but I can't get it to work even if I copy paste the terminal commands. If I have installed it successfully, I have no idea how to know, so I probably deleted it by mistake. Anyone have detailed instructions or videos describing a working process to install Modloader and the various mods it is needed for?

I've never used jzip, only 7zip, and all mods recommend using either 7zip or winrar.

Could be one of the other mods is adding or duplicating recipes.
on mine when i turn my settings to easy/hard/normal i haz pigmen and ghasts in my world
You mean they spawn in the normal overworld, not just the nether? Not any effect of Risugami's mods, I don't think, what other mods do you have installed?

Are you installing modloader first? Do any of the other mods use the same class files as modloader? There may be a conflict and one mod is erasing the other mod's changes.
Yes, ModLoader is the first (and only) mod that I am attempting to install at the moment. Like I stated earlier, I've gone to the point of deleting out my entire .minecraft folder, launching the client, re-downloading the files, and then attempting to install only ModLoader. Each and every time, I get the same error, but only with the ModLoader mod. Frustrating as hell....lol
Afternoon, sir. I downloaded one of your mods. Indeed it was ModLoader itself. Having some pretty debilitating problems with it though... So here's the steps I took...
Downloaded the ModLoader file.
Put all the included items in a zipped folder.
Opened my Minecraft Jar using 7Zip.
Sent that pesky META-INF file to the trash.
Opened the freshly zipped ModLoader file with, of course, 7Zip.
Transferred all the files inside the ModLoader file to the Minecraft Jar.
Closed it all out, ran Minecraft.
Black screen...... Black screen...... Ooh, an error report, how fun! I've always wanted one of those. Isn't it a beauty. You should see it for yourself! In fact, here it is! :biggrin.gif:

Maybe you can decipher something useful out of that maniacal jargon. Perhaps it's something to do with that oddball one there, "Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: BaseModMP"... But I'm only guessing.
Oh, by the way, this is my first time ever messing with mods. Don't know if that matters in the slightest, but there you go.
Just like to say, I love this because it fixed my Minecraft. Not only can I use mods, but it FIXED it :biggrin.gif:! I just installed AudioMod and "POOF!", Minecraft now plays audio. I case you didn't notice, my audio didn't play before!
Did you copy the files right? Did you delete META-INF? Do this:
1. Delete bin and all Mod files.
2. Get on Minecraft and use "Auto-Update" under Options.
3. Open minecraft.jar with WinRar
4. Copy and paste ModLoader files into bin.
5. Delete META-INF
6. Run Minecraft to make sure you installed right.
7. Copy and paste all AudioMod files into bin, do NOT put ibxm inside paulscode.
8. Run Minecraft, should work.
Look at my post to the other guy with problems, tell me if it doesn't work.
As I said, ModLoader works fine, so I deleted META-INF >.>
Are you installing modloader first? Do any of the other mods use the same class files as modloader? There may be a conflict and one mod is erasing the other mod's changes.
Weird, is minecraft running? Close it if it is.
Zip exceptions are usually caused by something corrupting the zip file when the mods are added, are you using winrar or 7zip? You should be, or use the texture patcher.
Yes.
I hope the 1.0.1 is a typo..... if you're using one of the new minecraft pre-releases, no mods will work on it.
If it was a typo and you're on 1.0.0 then it might be best to try the texture patcher, it makes life simpler for mod installs, especially on macs as they need extra steps to install mods. There's a video explaining mod installs on the mac on the texture patcher thread.
Look in the OP for previous version downloads for audio mod, it will take you to a nice list of older versions.
Any old mods in the mods folder? Delete them. Or, post modloader.txt or an error report.

Strange. Have you tried using the texture patcher? Can't suggest anything else at this point.
I don't have minecraft open yet winrar says the zip is corrupted. Help please?
Which zip, the modloader one or the minecraft jar file? If it's the modloader zip, then your download didn't work, grab it again. If it's the minecraft jar, then the game wouldn't even run.
I have read all the post and made sure i deleted the meta-inf folder from my minecraft.jar but for some reason it still keeps freezing. Would very much appreciate it if you reply or if sombody knows how to fix this.

Oh, by the way, this is my first time ever messing with mods. Don't know if that matters in the slightest, but there you go.
BaseModMP the "MP" should be the clue, that's multiplayer generally and doesn't apply to modloader.

Cool, cool, I see... I guess I was just looking at the "caused by" portion of that particular excerpt.
Anyway, the problem persists. I was hoping for someone to come to a solution by tonight, though. See, I want to get the Equivalent Exchange mod, but since ModLoader's messing up all over the place that'll have to wait, huh? Ah well. Cheers!
Don't use jzip, use 7zip or winrar.
Post modloader.txt or an error log.
See a couple pages back, this has been discussed a bit lately.
Hm... Seems that I can't get ModLoader to install at all.
I've tried installing to a fresh .jar but to no avail. Black screen every time. I've been able to successfully install other mods (TMI, Optifine), but ModLoader just refuses to co-operate.
I've never had troubles before, so how do I go about obtaining an error report or modloader.txt as many have suggested?

You need to backup your .minecraft folder (assuming you're using windows), delete the original .minecraft folder.
Open the launcher and it will download. Close minecraft, then go to .minecraft folder.
This is what I did. Reinstall IN THIS ORDER: OptiFine HD A, Single Player Commands, ModLoader.
I have tested it and it works. I think TMI is a problem because the same happened to me.
Shelf mod works, ceebs installing the rest of risugami's mods, but should work.
However, Death Chest doesn't work for me, but doesn't crash minecraft. Just doesn't work.
To get the modloader.txt, you need to go to C:\Users\INSERT-USERNAME-HERE\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
It should be in there.

Did I "win the internet"?
Use the texture patcher, http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232701-100update-1113-mcpatcher-hd-fix-222/ there is a video tutorial for mac on the thread for it. Really the easiest way to install mods, especially on macs.

Alright, thanks! I used 7zip instead of jZip, and it worked perfectly! jZip was effen it all up for some reason.
